Very good. I haven’t answered the door to a politician since Election 2002 – and that was to Paul ‘FU Deputy Stagg’ Gogarty who legged it when I started asking questions.

I’ve a notice for the past year saying that if they leave a leaflet, I won’t vote for them. Only ever got leaflets from one FG candidate and one Green one. Every other candidate, party employee, leaflet distributor spots the notice and either knocks to chat or gets lost.

I prefer the positive willing-to-engage attitude of the first door owner who invites candidates to Knock and Talk.

In the days of Ahern, Rambo, Flynn et al I tried:
“Canvassers from non-corrupt parties only”…which caused a few puzzled pauses.

    Later on:
“No canvassers – mind already made up”
