Every party leader – and every candidate, in fact – should be asked this question.

And the next question for people who answer yes should be: “Do you realise that buying illegal drugs funds and motivates violent crime gangs, murder and misery in Ireland and overseas?”

If the implication was that they were still doing drugs, I agree with you. But I don’t think that a few dabbles during their youth (when we weren’t as cognisant of the suffering caused in 3rd world countries as a result of the production of drugs) is necessarily such a good indicator of someone’s moral fibre.

Leo Varadkar is still a very young leader. His “youth” was only a few years ago, when he was a doctor.

Anyway, the “youth” argument is just a fig leaf for adults who do know better, who do know the impacts of drug crime. As if people in the 20s and even 30s were like toddlers.

Why do they still insist on asking this type of stupid question; seriously, who cares if Martin toked a joint or Varadkar liked a blast?

(Also, Leo was a medical student, so presumably he wouldn’t bother with illegal drugs when he had pharmaceutical-grade stuff to hand).

Wouldn’t it be fairer to decriminalise and regulate this mess?

Ah no, Lets excuse one group and criminalise the other group, wha!

Did anyone else notice the following during this debate:

For the latter half of the debate, whenever a split-screen was used to show both participants at the same time, Leo’s image was noisy or grainy. It gave him the appearance of not having shaved and was certainly unflattering.
But this effect was not apparent in any single camera shots.

        Hah!
I meant to add that I don’t give a crap how he looked.
Maybe I should give the old 21″ Pye Continental a good slap on the side like I usually do?

    Suckers!!!!

Look at what they have ye talking about

And not the fact the of the declared Candidates (as of lunch time yesterday
    Which was 519
353 were denied free access to primetime mainstream telly
    That’s 68% btw

Mainstream collusion decided last night you should only hear from 32% of the Political Voices currently entered into our Democratic races

Make no mistake – that 12 second stall from Leo was strategic and staged

The only thing worth your attention here is Bodger’s savage headering. Again.

Having to watch 519 of ’em on the tele would be reason enough to stop paying the TV licence

You’re so funny it hurts Cramps

        But for everyone else, since you’re too busy being the funny one Cramp;
Registered Parties (10?) Eat up over 400 candidates declared

So even accounting for the 400 Candidates from legitimately registered Parties – VMTV selected to provide airtime to 166 of them (42 ish% btw)

Time for Miggledys Áras to do some good and have something to say about this assistance 166 Candidates are getting
