…all the usual suspects…the last proponents of the nationist politics of appeasement that have been rejected in election after election in the north…

Sinn Fein opposed Mallon being awarded the freedom of Drogheda in 2018.
Petty, small, sad excuses for leaders.

…Mallon was awarded the ‘honour’ by Drogheda Council…local shinners merely pointed out the local TD and the person who delivered the peace, Gerry Adams, was more deserving of recognition…don’t think Adams will have lost much sleep over not getting his parchment though…

One was a peace maker, one was a man who ordered murders (but still denies it). Who should be properly awarded the freedom of the town?

“delivered the peace” – by agreeing to stop murdering people? That’s some twisting of the narrative, right there.

…Mallon called the Good Friday Agreement ‘Sunningdale for slow learners’…he was implacibley opposed to it because he knew that his politics of appeasement had failed…Hume realised that the only way peace could be achieved was if the participants in the armed struggle ceased…the only people who could deliver peace were the provisionals, persuaded by their political wing…
