feel mildly dirty because of it, goo

      but wholeheartedly agree with you

and delighted to see it. we could do with a few more RBBs

They’ve seemingly run out of time, so no discussion on health. For such an important subject, you’d think they’d extend it.

Must say that FF and FG got a bit of a pasting, and labour almost got a free ride. Not too many blows landed on SF.

        RBB performed well

          Mary Lou did well too

few on here wont agree with that, but she did. and roisin shortall as well.

The only one that really went for the jugular was RBB.

FF FG SF LAB had a few slaps at each other, in the knowledge that they may well be partnering with each other in some format in a couple of weeks, so didn’t want to cause mortal damage.

Strange that a doctor used the term “nutters” and them being in every party, including his own. Then again, the government record on mental health hasn’t been great, so no surprises at the choice of language that its leader uses.

    bravo Boyd Barrett!
a clear winner, genuine, skewered Varadker and Martin so many times and def scored the largest cheers from that audience across a range of issues, I think it would be hard to argue with anything he said….I’d say he will at least get his own seat out of that performance if enough people saw it

+ Shorthall was to my mind the most impressive person in the room, very genuine and ran Barrett a close second on the night
+ Varadker came across like he was trying to sell me a used car, tried a few lol moments which I found flippant, irritating, attempted a bizarre larceny claiming that they’ve only really owned the housing brief for a couple of years wtf
+ Martin seemed far too focussed on sniping at Mary Lou, he said nothing to convince me of any kind of an evolution in FF. Martin and Varadker are what they are, coalition partners…they should just admit it christssake!!
+ Mary Lou fought well, no major trip ups but also spewed a lot of rhetoric, waffle, disappointing. Eoin O Broin will be getting my vote however.
+ Ryan was very polished and at least did come across as being expert in Green matters (but I don’t think I know anyone gives a real fupp)
+ Howlin I found annoying, what on earth are Labour playing at?

    1. GiggidyGoo

Millionaire Howlin clinging onto the public purse teat. He was good once upon a time, many years ago, in opposition. Time to let George Lawlor have a go.

I thought Ryan was a bit away with the fairies at times. “It’ll mean pain” was the usual line, which means more taxes.

Mary Lou did reasonably well, but needs to improve.

Michéal Martin came across as the witch in little red riding hood. All smiles, but “look out behind you” screaming from his demeanor and answers. He had no real defense for his support of FG over the past years, and it showed when he tried the ‘but Brexit’ line.

      Shortall performed reasonable well too.

RBB definitely wiped the floor with them.

Varadkar in his first real battle as leader of FG was disappointing. Nothing of substance. Not well versed enough to be on the same stage as the others. His immaturity poked through, and his demeanor shouted “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here”

Mary Lou was making the points last night about
      * woman eating her dinner from a window sill
      * child eating his dinner off a piece of cardboard off the footpath
And now the situation seems to have got so bad, that this occurs.

Murphy got a mention briefly last night. Harris got off scot free (seems to be dodging a lot at the moment). The two immature boys whose responsibilities are for these areas. Homeless and health.

And as regards the health situation – remember when Bottler Reilly imported ‘doctors’? Well, as suspected, there wasn’t much in the form of qualifying the suitability of them to practice. https://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/ireland/striking-off-doctor-working-in-dublin-hospital-essential-for-public-safety-978078.html

        by design clearly
RTE effectively erased Boyd Barrett completely from their post match analysis this morning

I’m surprised I never ever saw a photo of Kodaline before, but I expected them to be better-looking.

I missed the Leader’s Debate preferring instead to watch the Trump impeachment proceedings.
However I bring you news of an interesting battle going on to see who can get the coveted No 1 slot in the music charts in the week when Brexit happens.
Bitter Remoaners are downloading Beethoven’s Ode to Joy ( the EU anthem ) whilst Brexit troupador Dominic Frisby is battling to get his Brexit song ’17 Million F*** O***s’ to the top of the charts.
It’s in the number two spot on Amazon Music, and Number Six on iTunes download charts.
Streaming through Spotify and Apple Music will also count towards the chart position.
A bit of harmless fun to cheer up the January blues. It’ll be interesting to see if the BBC play Frisby’s effort if he gets the top spot.
    Marvellous, what ?

‪Sinn Fein when asked how they are going to build all the houses, cancel USC reverse pension age and provide more Gardai and hospital beds, say they will tax corporations. Then this morning MLMcD said corporation tax should be treated as a windfall tax and not be over reliant on it‬ like FF was with stamp duty… so which is it?

All the problems can only be rectified if the economy performs. Promises are no good without the finances. As Clinton said ” it’s the economy stupid”
