Last night.

The Batman, due for release in 2021, is currently filming in London.

This short test footage was posted last night by director Matt Reeves, providing a first look at Robert Pattinson in full caped crusader getup.

Since starting his career in the uniformly awful Twilight film series, Pattinson has re-emerged as an immensely skilled and charismatic actor.

The likes of The Rover (2014), Good Time (2017) and The Lighthouse (2019) show a knack for roles that skew between arthouse and entertainment; with that in mind it will be interesting to see what he “brings” to the well-trodden role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Director Matt Reeves has a good track record too, with the likes of Cloverfield (2008) and his contribution to the superbly realised Planet of the Apes trilogy.

I’m fairly sure he didn’t direct the first of the rebooted Planet of the Apes films, but open to correction.

Another pointless and regressive cash-in on lazy dumbed down cinema-goers, you couldn’t pay me enough to go and see it..

Please stop encouraging this hollywoodland trash corporate nonsense making a mockery of Cinema and audiences and then being incessantly repeated because you the punter, are being dumb enough to go along with it and continue buying tickets to support it..

You have power in how you spend your money.

    0/100 – R P was doing well there for a minute… bad move.

Agree.Unless this interpretation is step beyond from Nolan’s (Frank Miller inspired) efforts, in the same way the Nolan moved beyond the previous batman series of Tim Burton etc.Which it doesn’t appear to be.

I like Batman, Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves direction so I am happy to support it. I am not “being dumb”, I just enjoy the work of the various people involved.

      Film snobs are a bore.
