      – *psst*, pal, you know that none of the events of 1916 took place in Cork, right?

        Incorrect, Thomas Kent was executed in Cork in May 1916 following a gun battle at the Kent family residence in Castleyons where an RIC officer was killed.

          True. But I think that for most people (well, people outside Cork), ‘1916’ is synonymous with the events of Easter week.
