What a welcome for @MaryLouMcDonald, @moneillsf, and our team! A Government for Change that delivers for ordinary workers and families is possible pic.twitter.com/nFTmKhTRUf

So disappointed we didn’t get into the Sinn Féin meeting this evening at Liberty Hall 😥
Packed to the rafters at 7:15! But the brilliant Pearse Doherty came out for a few words….powerful as ever! Worth the freeze

Interesting night at Liberty Hall.
Not sure there were many undecideds there but I don’t think any other party could generate such interest/excitement.
Also worth noting that when given an open goal from one audience member to attack the media no Sinn Féin rep on stage did so.

Tonight.
At Liberty Hall in Dublin 1.
Members and supporters of Sinn Féin attend a rally for the party, hosted by Sinn Féin president Mary Lou McDonald (top middle) and (from left) Sinn Féin TDs Pearse Doherty, Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland Michelle O’Neill and TDs Eoin Ó Bróin and Louise O’Reilly.

Has Hubert softened his own cough?
They don’t have the numbers for the change they promote. It is a degree of frenzy in a post election honeymoon period. Yes the two party system is dead and that is a good thing. It has been hard for a long time to see the ideological difference between FF and FG. At the end of the day 3 out 4 people didn’t vote for Sinn Fein. There is a clear ideological water between FF / FG and SF so it then becomes a maths problem. SF don’t have the numbers with others but the centre right do.
3 out of 4 didn’t vote FF
3 out of 4 didn’t vote FG
The marriage of FFG is close. And then we will have proper government and opposition in play.
You can smell the fear of FFG
I prefer my elected officials to not be convicted bomb makers or people who think it’s necessary to shout ‘up the ra’ . In Waterford. In 2020.
The millennials are gonna learn the hard way
The millennials have learned the hard way. You can see that by the voting pattern.
The boomers are past history.
Just like we all did in 2008.
You’re right. Having no affordable housing prospects, a crumbling healthcare system, no infrastructure to speak of to support the population boom, and chronic mismanagement of government monies from successive governments has taught us nothing.
Wait – are you describing 2020? 2000? 1980? 1960? or 1940?
Lol. Playing the fool suits you.
Don’t suppose you got a look at Prime Time last night?
You might want to reconsider your post.
Did you intend to list years when Government was run by FF or FG? Are you saying that both of these parties have mismanaged the state since 1940? Why do you still support such mismanagement?
Ah yeah – fastest growing economy in the EU 5 or 6 years in a row, and a cradle-to-grave welfare state that permits people on the scratcher to buy iPhone Xs – sure, tis like living in Sierra Leone, so it is…

Rob reckons that the state “permits” people to own things. Good lad Rob.
Try having all of the above plus a civil war, they haven’t witnessed that yet but they soon will.
Well you may see an uprising alright (against the West Brits and their poodles). In fact it’s underway already.
Fair dues Mary Lou.
Change is on its way. You can smell the fear!
Expect the FG Stasi to introduce a ban on public meetings tomorrow – on basis of Coronavirus fears. Won’t be a problem for Labour anyway.
Drew Harris is working hard on that.
Did Mr John Kilrane the RTE Dublin Cor attend and file a report for transmission
The so-called journalists in this country obviously don’t work nights. At least not in journalism.
Quite a few years ago, when the Indo had a comment section, I used to comment there. SoI got an email a couple of days ago telling me as follows:
“What has changed?
Independent.ie has started a subscription service. This means some premium articles will only be available to subscribers. We will continue to report the news as and when it happens.
Why have you received this message?
This change affects all of our readers so we would like to keep you informed.

That was the best laugh I had this week so far.
Maybe they can’t afford for journalists to work nights because people don’t pay for consuming their content any more.
Maybe – you could be right. Isn’t that a shame?
i’m mostly coming into the comments section of these articles to revel in the woe of Rob_G and Cian. They’re getting quieter and quieter. Great to see the drummer boys of the establishment become a fringe occupying minority of crakpots. Still trying to tell us the safe and good option is the party who wasted an economic boom, destroyed every sector, and couldn’t keep out of a controversary for more than a week while in office. And now finally, that ridiculous view is to the side and held by very few, as it should be.
It’s not actually clear from your comment if you are supposed to be referring to FF, or FG, or both. It’s hard to tell, particularly because both of those parties got within 2% of the number of first preferences that SF did.
And that “within” is a drop from what?
You know what?yYou’re right. I’ve seen the error of my ways. Up the Ra! Three cheers for Mary Lou!
Wow Sinn Fein making news in TURKEY daily paper. Have a read here https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/irelands-sinn-fein-demands-place-in-government-at-dublin-rally-152445
Why was Michelle O’Neill there? For once, answer a question, lads, always lads.
Perhaps you might try to answer it yourself?
Make it a doozy!
We’ll all wait with bated breath
Eh? Why was Jeffrey Donaldson addressing the FG Ard Fheis, and him not even a member (as far as we know anyway) of FG.
Will you ever g’way our dat
