A statement from Dublin-based animation company JAM Media severing ties with Helen and Graham Linehan (top) who had created the joint BBC production of live action musical ‘Tiara Jones’

Hardly just “a difference of opinion”. As for the “creative persons” bit, well maybe do some some research into how animation studios work.
I hate this disingenuous excuse, it’s because of what his opinions consist of, not that they are different. He has been so vile and ignorant towards trans folk that loads of companies have cancelled projects with him. His family warned him not to get involved with all this, yet he did it anyway and he has lost work from it. And it’s all his own fault
This is exactly the problem: Get in line with the progressive view or lose your job. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
If youre openly hateful and bigoted, people aren’t gong to want to work with you. Well, decent people aren’t.
Plenty of trans persons do support and encourage Graham.
Are they suffering from internalised transphobia or something?
Probably. Hard to expain how anyone, trans or cis, can support him after the stuff he’s done and said in any kind of good faith otherwise.
It’s not up to you to explain other people’s reasoning. Your penchant to try do so is ridiculous and 9* times out of 10 way off the mark and nothing more than accusation dressed up in hate filled drivel.
(* number picked out of thin air, for the hell of it)
Of course it’s not up to me, but you did ask, and I took a stab at a likely explaination. You don’t like it, you shouldn’t have asked.
Nigel away with the fairies as always. Never change, always be offended on the behalf of others.
Linehan is one of the most active, vocal and identifiable campaigners against trans people on these islands. To be associated with him is to be associated with his anti-trans view and activities, so this is a matter of conscience, and of consideration for trans folk and other LGBT folk since this anti-trans mania is clearly just the thin end of the wedge.
cue clampers in 3,2,1..
Heh :)
From what I’ve seen he’s not “anti trans”. He has a problem with, for example, trans women competing against cisgender women in sport and destroying the competition. It’s an issue that needs to be discussed and it’s certainly not anti trans. Laurel Hubbard being a very recent example.
I’ve seen some of the stuff he’s tweeted about trans people. His loathing for them is clearly visceral.
Yet he has the support of many, many trans individuals who are sick of the anti-science and lies of the trans-lobby.
And let’s not forget the now vocal intersex community lending him support due to the trans lobby co-opting their struggle….
But sure, then there’s you, to make sense of it all with your belief in Self ID and “women have a penis”
lololololololol :)
Have a nice day silly-Billy.
He does not have the support of many, many, many, others, in fact I’ll go out on a limb and say ‘most’ others. But they don’t count.
WOW! … Nigel gets to decide which trans persons opinions count and which trans persons opinions do.
I say again…. WOW!
Thanks Nigel, no need for me to comment on this thread no more, thanks.
^don’t (silly me)
No I get to decide which trans people’s opinions I agree with you fatuous twit.
The guy who believes in Self ID and “women have a penis” is calling me fatuous… heh…
…guffaw!
Go on outta dat, ya muppet.
You’re not exactly proving me wrong.
eh?
I don’t have to.
“But they don’t count” is right there.
Every time I have an exchange with you I am reminded of how your thought processes and fundamental immaturity leave you open to this kind of dangerous (to trans folk) nonsense.
Can’t win an argument, then resort to accusing the other of being dangerous…. pffft
Pathetic.
Nothing I’ve said cannot be found coming from trans persons own comments I’ve listened to.
They just happen to jar with the trans-lobby you clearly support, and so you throw out the label “dangerous”…. like a tantrum child.
If you don’t think trans people aren’t being put in danger by all this anti-trans rhetoric and horrible arguments, you are fooling yourself.
I love kittens.
This sort of stuff I would imagine …

Nigel would call you a terf* for not supporting this.
*if you were a feminist. Otherwise Nigel would simply say you’re trans exclusionary, as has been Nigel’s position on this before.
ok then ….a man who says he’s a woman is a woman. agree with biological sex and your a bigot
A trans man deserves the courtesy of being referred to as a man, and a trans woman deserves the curtesy of being referred to as a woman. Anything else is an excuse for bigotry.
No not really. Most people would extend others the courtesy you suggest but it still doesn’t mean you suspend reality and actually believe it.
+1
Difference here is that Nigel believes it.
You don’t have to believe in courtesy or respect, if you can’t hide your distaste, it’s not courtesy, and if you treat people as if they aren’t real and don’t exist you’re potentially a monster.
Who said anything about showing distaste? There are many instances in our daily lives where you simply show courtesy and respect, out of decency. I don’t believe that men can have vaginas and women can have penises. That still doesn’t mean that I bieve that a trans woman is in some way subhuman, non existent or not deserving of the same level of respect I would afford any other individual.
Body dysmorphia is a real, identified, treatable medical diagnosis, and you believing otherwise is, well, the same as you challenging any other non-visible condition or diagnosis because you believe it doesn’t exist, which is ignorant behaviour, not courteous, and definitely not respectful.
Body dysmorphia is real, I’m not pretending otherwise. It does not follow that if you suffer from it, that you are correct and all reality goes out the window.
A standard human being has two kidneys. Since some people are born with 1 or 3 kidneys, do we now have to pretend that it is unclear how many kidneys a human has just to be “inclusive” of those with the non standard variety?
If you can accept body dysmorphia and trans people exist, which is, like, the bare minimum, then everything else follows with only a small bit of empathy and mental felxibility. Your example isn’t bad, actually, since the existence of a small number of people born with three kidneys does not preclude the existence of an overwhelming majority of people with one, nor vice versa. Reality, through demonstration, can include both.

There is nothing wrong with being trans, there’s nothing wrong with being in drag, neither are a danger to children.
Drag queens are not transgendered, they are adult entertainers. I am certain that professionals like Panti Biss and Bunny O’Hare would behave appropriately but most are crude crass and their entire acts are laden with sexual innuendo.
Drag queens have no business being anywhere near children’s spaces.
+1 Well said. Would not like young kids exposed to the antics and performance of a lewd Drag Queen.
Those certainly would not be appropriate acts for children’s spaces, no, but most professional entertainers are capable of performing one act for kids and other acts for adults. I mean, literally pantomime.
I’d love to hear you explained name of Drag Queen “Flow-job” to kids.
That is the name of one such Drag Queen for kids ed. Google it if you wish.
Not all drag is post-watershed. Performers are capable of writing and performing shows for kids where they happen to be dressed in drag. The most obvious one is pantomime, but there are others. No matter how many crass adult-only shows you may have seen, the means of drag can be adapted. Painting them as inherently deviant is scaremongering nonsense

….Gemma?
“We believe in tolerance, equality, inclusivity, empathy”
Sure who wouldn’t be these days. This is a copy and paste from the handbook of mandated “progressive values”.
Tolerant, inclusive and empathetic toward everyone…except Graham, his wife and people like them. If they were supporting people to stay true to who they are, they’d also be supportive of the Linehans
They call themselves tolerant but they won’t tolerate the intolerant? CURIOUS!
You do not choose to be a member of an oppressed group that are constantly discriminated against (being trans is what some people are).
You do choose to have hateful views against one or more groups (which is what some people do and can choose not to). False equivalence
You only have your views, it’s others who might perceive then as hateful. Doesn’t mean you’re wrong or indeed actually hateful. History is littered with people with unpopular and potentially “hateful” opinions that turned out to be the truth. It’s not a matter of choice
Errrr how are they throwing him under the bus?
When people like Boy George and Marilyn who were gender bending when it was downright dangerous to do so are being labeled transphobic, something has gone seriously wrong.
There are debates going on within LGBT community, feminism and even police forces as to how the Trans issue should be addressed. I don’t agree with what Graham has to say but I absolutely defend his right to say it.
+1
I agree with quite a bit of it, the stuff trans individuals support him on, but certainly not the petty spats he gets into.
What gets me is the way it is assumed all straight people think one way and all LGBT think another. The militancy of some in the Trans community is turning a lot of people off- INCLUDING some other Trans people.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU1PGxfEVe0
But in this particular case it’s Linehan’s militancy that have turned people off him. But not transphobes, they love him.

Is Rose of Dawn in the link above a transphobe too then? I am way more interested in opinions of people who have transitioned (like Jess) than a bunch of bullies whom because they don’t like a tweet, demand the police call to your work place to ‘check your thinking’.
+1 a million times.
All i know is that it’s one messed-up Venn diagram with Linehan in the middle.
The only reasoned thing you’ve ever said on this subject.
Glinner is basically the Hatie Hopkins of trans. He needs to calm down and stop being so shrill.
What pressure was applied to Jam Daisy- and by whom?
If they feel so strongly on this issue then they should have no problem identifying themselves.
What gives you any inclination to think I’d know who applied this “pressure” you allege was applied, if any?
What gives you any inclination to think I’d care who applied this “pressure” you allege was applied, if any?
Have you actually asked JAM, y’know the actual people involved?
Ah would ye all calm down
and that applies to this lad and his former partners in Tiara whatara’ it is
They came together, then one crowd paid off and bought out the other
and are now making a big hoo haa about disassociating themselves with that other party’s personal views
Stick to yere professional arrangement
and go yere separate ways
And stop trying to elbow in some campaigning that has nothing to do with either the original Joint Venture
Or even your own means of doing business or earning a living
Both sides should just mind their own business
and stick to their own knitting as it were
Fair cop that.
Rainbow washing
Wow. Think I’ll dive into this later with some popcorn so I can cackle in peace.
Depends on where you stick the popcorn I expect.
Only when buttered
Severing ties with somone who ceased working with you 3 YEARS AGO? Looks like Glinner got his retaliation in first.

This is not for children, but Nigel believes otherwise, apparently.
Yes, I know it’s not a library, no, but far worse has already been reported at Drag Queen library readings.
The child here, is clearly uncomfortable. Stop this woke bull of using adult entertainment for kids… :/
