Beggars Belief

at

This morning.

Dublin city centre.

Dannyboy tweetz:

So this sums up Garda Traffic policing. Gardai car pullls up on path behind a van blocking cycle lane to fine a beggar and then pop in for coffee while the van drivers is still in the van blocking the lane

Free the lanes.

Stop fining beggars.

I’d expect an increased tolerance of behaviour such as this once an “Inside the K” effect kicks in!

Duhh! The police are cowards. They shoot unarmed suspects in ongoing kidnapping situations when they are forced to do actually work. FFS. What do you expect? The man in the van was probably bigger than him. Garda: Bullies/cowards.

Yeah, lets have no guards. Cos they are all bullies. Who will we call when in trouble? The mob is south Armagh?

Seems a little binary. How about just lets have cops that aren’t cowards or bullies?

Westland Row. It’s mad the way the cycle lane becomes a car park for the school of music over the weekend.

The man in the van is clearly making a delivery. how is he supposed to deliver there ? get the DART? Beggar in that spot has been forceful and intimidating people. I’ve no problem with people begging if they aren’t harassing people and either do the Gardai.

Cyclists dont own the road. Safely go around both people doing their jobs and keeping the country going.

How is he clearly making a delivery? Where you there? Even if he is making a delivery he has to obey all the rules of the road just like the rest of us.

i hate the sense of being above the law they all have. an unmarked car pulled out in front of me really dangerously down in naas years ago and i flashed my lights and he jammed on the brakes and put on his police lights. came over to the window of my car and cockily said “you were looking for me there were ya?” tryin to intimidate me. i knew he had nothing on me so i told him he’s driving dangersouly, and hand on my heart he says “im a detective” .. Irish people and power don’t mix. turns us into bumholes.

Who would actually stopped their bike, take a picture of this and post it to the internet?

What time was this at? That is only a cycle lane between 07:00-10:00 and 12:30-19:00 Monday to Saturday, says so on the sign about 3 yards behind where this picture was taken from.

all the bootlickers coming in with their comments. broadsheet commenters are the highest percentage of old school catholic boot licker ireland of any comments section on the net. probably a few actual Gardai among yee.

What’s wrong with being a Garda?

(though it shouldn’t be hugely surprising that a SF supporter has a problem with the Gardaí)

      1. Peter Dempsey

The Left hate the Gardai. Something about them uploading private property rights. The Left hate property owners too.

But Dr Fart is a doctor – surely, unless he’s a very junior doctor, he owns his own house at this stage?

And surely he must have met loads of Gardaí in his line of work; all real doctors and nurses I know encounter Gardaí quite often in their real jobs, and can’t speak highly enough about them.

That patrol car may have a further dozen assignments to carry out from an RTA, to a reported burglary, criminal damage etc. If they had to find a car park place ever time they responded to a call , there would be a huge backlog and delays. They too have to be at the ready for emergencies.
And begrurge an officer a cup of coffee? Cop on.

Someone send it to Peter Charleton, he can do a supplement to that earlier report detailing problems with gardai on the beat…
