Via The Burkean (funded and run by conservative-leaning undergraduates):
In December of last year a Twitter account was set-up titled “Irish Students Against Fascism”.
it described itself as an aspiring antifascist organising hub to physically, socially and professionally harass individuals engaged with conservative or nationalist politics on campuses.
….What has been unknown until today was that, from the very onset, the page was operated by students involved with The Burkean.
The account was set up with the intent of performing long term investigative work into antifascism in Ireland, as well as its insidious and often blatant links with civic society, journalism and politics.
…Over the coming weeks, The Burkean will be publishing a series of exclusive messages, audio and video recordings that give a hint of the sheer scale of this corruption.
These materials will show how students and organizations deemed to be politically dissentious had their data gathered and distributed amongst a host of campus activists, violent and non-violent, all with the support student government.
This project will demonstrate how major student institutions treat those they perceive as politically dissident, as well as the degree to which they abuse their positions of power.
Organisations such as Young Fine Gael were specifically targeted, with senior members of student organisations expressing a desire to help for private meetings to be infiltrated and members doxxed.
From members of the Oireachtas to street activists, to an assortment of foreign financed NGOs and political activists ranging from Ógra Fianna Fáil to People Before Profit, the scale of the blatant corruption is remarkable.
A spotlight shall be shown not merely on a rotten system of partisan corruption, but also on how power relations operate in Ireland against those deemed a threat to established power…

Ireland is ideologically colonised by a meshing of a big money ‘eurocommunism’ & Silicon Valley Clintonism. We’re a crypto-police state with cosmetic democratic trappings that soft purges dissidents from the institutions. And this is how that corruption is undertaken. https://t.co/zNHR4H4VTv

Irish Antifa Project: USI Deputy President Michelle Byrne (The Burkean)
This should be a laugh :0)
I sometimes wonder if that whole anti fascists crew are not a false flag operation. Their bullying and threatening behaviour is the best recruitment tool Conservatives and nationalists could wish for.
I doubt they’re that capable.
That said, Antifa have been caught quite a number of times doing fake far-right stuff already… in the US anyway.
here’s a poem on being conditioned…have a lovely weekend BS creepers ;)
Twice Shy
Her scarf a la Bardot,
In suede flats for the walk,
She came with me one evening
For air and friendly talk.
We crossed the quiet river,
Took the embankment walk.
Traffic holding its breath,
Sky a tense diaphragm:
Dusk hung like a backcloth
That shook where a swan swam,
Tremulous as a hawk
Hanging deadly, calm.
A vacuum of need
Collapsed each hunting heart
But tremulously we held
As hawk and prey apart,
Preserved classic decorum,
Deployed our talk with art.
Our Juvenilia
Had taught us both to wait,
Not to publish feeling
And regret it all too late –
Mushroom loves already
Had puffed and burst in hate.
So, chary and excited,
As a thrush linked on a hawk,
We thrilled to the March twilight
With nervous childish talk:
Still waters running deep
Along the embankment walk.
Seamus Heaney
Thanks for posting, I hope you have a good weekend also.
Perfect! Ta Janet.
In fairness, it’s not before time.
It’s like the
“We become what we hate” maxim.
Mostly lefty Progressive (with a very small p) groups are involved in this crap.
In the self appointed role of this so-called guardians of tolerance and freedom they have conspired to violently restrict the speech and assembly rights of those that disagree with them!
Heads need to roll here.
who gives a flying fupp … they’re students FFS
And in twenty years they will be the establishment.
Exactly. If either side wants to know about Fascism, ask your parents.
A conservative puplication joining in the general right wing efforts to draw attention to something other than the rise of right-wing extremism across the world? Oh my.
Why do you think it’s on the rise?
Trump, Brexit, entre areas of Poland declared LGBTQ-free zones and anti-Muslim pogroms in India.
But these things didnt come from a vacuum. Also, Golden Dawn, Orban etc.. Crash and recession certainly fueled but why is there seemingly more leaning far to the right…
Becauase somehow we have been conditioned to be more afraid, or not even afiraid of, outraged by, of a bunch of rowdy lefty activists than of a right-wing political movement driving entire countries to authoritarianism.
In Britain- 120,000 cases of ‘non-crime’ hate incidents – despite police accepting that they are not illegal. 120 000 people who potentially could lose a job if a security check is ran despite having done nothing wrong in the eyes of the law.
This Orwellian nightmare is coming from the Left not the Right so- who is the authoritarians again?
+1
You’re right, people should be forced to put up with hate incidents that run right up to without quite crossing the line into crime without have any protection or record of it kept. People can lose jobs for behaviour that isn’t illegal. That’s not Orwellian, what’s Orwellian is that employee protections are so weak and yet they manage to blame victims of hate incidents for it.
Good gawd, you are justifying an Orwellian nanny state and you clearly see citizens as weak, incapable, infantalised individuals in need of some hard left authoritarian rule to “care” for them.
Either that or you haven’t even looked at what is being reported as a hate crime in these “non-crime” so called hate incidents.
Cobblers- the law is the law- otherwise who decides what is and isn’t hate speech? Some silly billy boo boo that thinks they can speak for transitioned transgender people because in the past six months they got an edgy hair and started to use pro nouns?
Douglas Murray (gay) Andrew Doyle (gay), Rose of Dawn (Trans), Arielle Scarcella (lesbian)- all LGBT politicos and all strongly opposed to anti free speech legislation because they know that this sort of carry on is damaging the gay rights cause.
What’s damaging is the fantastic job the right did in driving this wedge into the heart of the LGBT movement.
What hoop did you pull that brilliant bit of conspiracy poo out of?
Do tell.
This’ll be brilliant for sure… unless it was your own, then it’d just be boring and disappointing. But I hope it’s the former :)
Again, do tell!
Those wrong thinking gay people, not leaning left, and far-left… musta been infiltrated by the far-right, sure why else would they lean right, awful shame, terrible altogether.
Are you gay or just one of those full circle srt8’s who now lecture gays about how homophobic they are?
I’ll let you know when the next Dublin anti EU Islam protest is. You can beat up gays in the name of gay liberation- bring your own tools.
* SPLUTTERS! *
Ouch…
…well…there you have it…
Absolutely- gays don’t like anti gays.
Don’t put words in my mouth, SOQ, you should know me better than that. I’m thinking both the gay and the Islamic communities are currently targeted by the same far-right hatebags, which should be food for thought if nothing else.
Nigel- when someone comes out nowadays, the first thing that goes through the minds of a group of srt8 lads is ‘who do I know is gay…. and gagging for it’?
It has already happened- the war is won- and if I hear some silly boo shouting something at a free speech demo, I will be the first to clip his ear.
I hope so, but surely the last few years, with Brexit and Trump, have been a demonstration of how hard-won progress can be rolled back.
Free speech demos are for people with views so bad or stupid or dangerous they’re only defensible on the grounds of free speech, and who claim oppression and being disagreed with are the same thing.
Please don’t use that word.
…never met a labidinal racist before…
@some old queen
“It has already happened- the war is won- and if I hear some silly boo shouting something at a free speech demo, I will be the first to clip his ear”
The war is certainly not won. It wont be won until i can come home from work and not find homophobic graffiti sprayed on my wall or have to look over my shoulder if i hold my husbands hand on the street or have poo shouted at me.
The more backlash there is against progressive ideals the more it emboldens the biggots out there. This free speech movement is full of people who just want to shout their vile bigotry without fear of condemnation.
Why can’t they do that if they like, and other publications/groups can highlight the rise in right-wing extremism? It’s not as if there isn’t plenty for everyone to go around.
Obviously they can do what they like, but this antifa stuff is pure scaremongering, scapegoating and utterly disproportionate.
Is it though?
I don’t follow it all that closely, but the only side I have seen physically attacking people and trying to break up lawful assemblies is the alleged anti-fascists (in Ireland, at any rate).
Well the Guards have been known to wade in vicously to a few lefty demos over the years, being the long arm of the establishment. A few obstreporous street scuffles seem mild by comparison. I don’t really condone that sort of thing, but the pearl clutching it inspires is feckin twitchy.
following that thread, you just compared the Gardai to a fascist police… and you accuse others of scaremongering.
Good gawd man, stop.
???
except that didnt happen
Edit: never mind.
I mean, they talk about ‘corruption’ and ‘blatant corruption,’ but all they really describe is organisation. In fact, they’re the ones who set up a fake page to gather data on other people’s political activities. Plus if antifascism is insidious, what the heck does that make fascism? Just an honest difference of opinion being unfairly maligned? This is an attempt to emulate the US right-wing rage machine, which will hopefully fizzle because there’s not much there there.
‘Corruption’ does seem to be the chosen buzzword – but what of it? That just makes the Burkean wrongheaded or perhaps stupid, not necessarily fascists.
“Plus if antifascism is insidious, what the heck does that make fascism?”
Being opposed to fascism, which I imagine would include 90-odd percent of Irish people, is not in itself insidious. Calling yourself ‘antifa’, and then going and physically attacking people you disagree with, is insidious (and fairly fascistic, to boot).
In the recent elections, I don’t think any of the Identity Ireland/nationalist party types retained their deposit, nevermind got elected. And any of the video footage I have seen on BS has had the “free speech” people or however they choose to identify themselves completely dwarfed by the “anti-fascist” counter protest. And the only people I have seen attacking the Gardaí, not just at these loony-right protests, but also at some of the water protests, seem to have been Eirigí/IRSP types.
Also, as far as I know, no Irish far-right group has ever managed to get organised/militant enough to acquire firearms, whereas members of Eirigí have been convicted of firearms offences.
So, not that I am not worried about the rise of the far-right globally, but in an Irish context, it seems to be the other side that represents a clear and present threat to democracy and the rule of law.
No mad disagreeing with you on any of that, except who knows, the lack of succes of the far right in the election might be like the Millennium Bug, where a big fuss was made over nothing, or was it that there was nothing because a big fuss was made?
You just agreed that “the other side”, antifa / far-left, are the issue in Ireland, yet you mock The Burkean at the beginning of this thread for pursuing them. “Oh my”… is right.
That’s an about face in 8 comments, just counting your own.
Good job.
I’ve had various conversations about fascism over the years, mostly about Franco. Lots of Irish men and women went to Spain in the 30s to join the ranks of “The International Army” against fascism – joining Ernest Hemingway et le reste.
“If I was of a fighting age in the ’30s – would one travel to Spain to fight Franco’s fascist regime?” was the conversational gambit. Pretty much, everyone says yes.
There’s still a thing called, “Free Press” as far as I know in Ireland. People are free to “publish” what they will. No-one agrees with everyone, but everyone has an opinion – a democracy – a non fascist state. Isn’t that what our nation (not forgetting the six counties) is built upon? (Sorry, I went into one there! – I would have gone to Spain, probably shot dead on the first day – too obviously anti-fascist.)
Edit: No, no. Never mind, I said. Never mind.
Any group sponsored by Declan Ganley should be engaged with by means of a barge pole.
Or just don’t engage with at all
And save yerselves a barge pole
This might be a bit of a giggle, nothing better than a good shouty argument between equally pleasant groups of loud passionate
Gentlepersons.
I have long found it impossible to find any difference between antifa and fascist ideology, both share a totally negative worldview.
They also often hate the same individuals and groups for slightly different reasons but with equal vitriol. But it appears to give them satisfaction so I hope they all have a good game.
These days my only causes are violent politeness and an absolute determination to be nice to all forms Of life, artistic endeavour and products of a genuine effort no matter the source.
Pleasant day to all.
Agreed, they are similar. And to you too Deimos, a pleasant day… night even.
That’s easy, Fascists want to exterminate other races and authoritarian rule.
Antifascists are against that.
They’re so crafty.
If we ever get to a police state, will Sting be leader?
no ME!!!!!!
All Hail our new supreme leader Janet! :)
the holy Trinity of my grand plan is a kind heart, GOOD food and some kind of physical exercise every day …the rest is details.
I like it…. a pack of rollies lasts me two weeks, down from a pack of 20 a day four years ago. Don’t ban ’em too soon :)
fair play clamps, my Dad smoked since he was thirteen and obvs consequences..best thing you can do as a Dad is cut down/give up…well done you

Hail Janet!
shed be a domineering but kindly leader
I’d go for it
you’d love it
…just possibly proved your point

These Burkean morons are cut-from-the-same -cloth are every other Trinity Fascist-Wannabe was cut from – for decades.
It’s of note the account’s Twitter background is from the battle of Cable Street, London – when Irish dockers stood in solidarity with Jews in 1936 – against Mosley’s Blackshirts — http://www.cablestreet.uk/
Burkean Brigade not only Anti-Irish but Anti-Semitic too. But coming on top of Irving at the Phil, the Monday Club celebrating Hitler’s birthday on campus on TCD…. plus ca change.
And most of these bright young things will end up working in Jewish owned finance houses and banks…
Besides the Coronavirus in Trinity will scare these little numpties off publishing anything
Here’s the cure

Bunch of zit-picking virgins who mangle their own names into Irish (Gobsheen O Eugenicaileoir, Esq, gentleman and patriot) and never – rain or shine – leave the house without a golf umbrella.
Not much of a threat.
Oh it is all kicking off,…I’m really enjoying this…

The Burkean master race on why white men (like them) are superior. This is what Ganley is funding.
thank you, The Burkean, for protecting uh… fascists…?
The Burkean, best known for approvingly publishing a racist article talking about the IQ differences between different races last year. Great stuff.
Funny also to pearl clutch about doxxing ‘right wing activists’ (lol) while simultaneously doxxing some girl in the USI
Wow, look at the explosive stuff they dug up from their extremely subtle deep cover investigations!

methinks this is more about the easily headline’d “Right wing group hit Irish leftists with deep cover sting!” than the actual content said sting dug up. Fup the fascists at the Burkean.
My God what a rotten system of partisan corruption HE SAID WITH A HINT OF SARCASM
c’mere
I have to admire the ..Kean with the they’ve got going
