To commemorate the end of the First World War, a small oratory was built at St Mary’s Convent, Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin. Dominican Sister Mary Concepta decorated the walls and Harry Clarke designed the stained-glass windows

During the course of my work this morning I happened to be in this little gem (above). I recommend going to look at it if you get a chance. Who Knew? Not me.

Cabra?
I thought that was in Dún Laoghaire beside Bloomfields shopping centre? Unless there’s a second one…
Jaysus, thanks Rónan. Fixed now.
it is NOT fixed
Sorry, Brother, fixed now. Thank you.
Harry Clarke was a genius.
nothing on our own papi, imo
I only wish. He’s my Bobby Charlton.
Looks amazing- does anyone know how and when the public can gain access?
It usually features in the Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Summer of Heritage programme with daily tours. It’s well worth a visit, incredible detail and fascinating how they’ve basically enclosed the entire building inside another building to conserve it.
Thank you!
