Not sure about that Temple Bar webcam; the outside-on-the-street one is working; the inside one shows a scene dated two years ago, then blanks out. So I don’t think it’s still jammers, thank goodness.

The Cheltenham crowd and now this.
    The real dregs of society.

“some day a real rain will come and wash the scum off the streets”

  2. Ringsend Incinerator

In fairness, I doubt they’re all natives – listening to acoustic guitars in an overpriced pub?

There are still far too many flocks of Italian, Spanish, other tourists and students traipsing around the city.

Regardless, anyone gathering like this is a congenital fupptard.

There in every city town and village in the country.
Muppets every last one. Hoping for a lock in instead of a lock down.

The hysteria over drink for Paddys day will be more unbelievable.

      A nation of fools

I’ve been in town and can confirm it’s busy enough
I’m tempted to name names but deffo a couple of well known gaffs completely ignoring the 100 rule, the authorities should have enforced it as a law like in Denmark
everyone knows what a busy pub floor is like – if one of those people had it now another 20 have it too and are gonna bring it home with them tonight
nearly home now, such bullsht :(

if gov don’t want people in pubs, order them shut, if they have the power to do so, otherwise they are sending mixed messages.

This 26 county state is fupping joke.

Always been quick enough to declare state of emergency if there’s a few republicans running around with a few pop guns – yet not if publicans are making cash at a time of crisis causing others to die.

Dicey’s Garden appear to be offering ‘free Corona’ to encourage custom, as per this image:

Establishments behaving like this are enemies of the people. They are known. They need to desist.

  6. ReproBertie

Can’t help but wonder if all this public outcry is designed to make shutting pubs an easier pill to swallow. I don’t mean the government are falsifying it. More that they didn’t shut the pubs so that people would demand they do so.

    1. The Dude

Over the last while, the response has repeatedly been community led – with the state playing catch-up..

All the time, I wondered, ‘If only we lived on an island, and had a medically qualified doctor as leader’…

Instead we had a joker on a junket, belatedly announcing half measures.

FG have shown their true colours in mismanaging this, and where their priorities lie:

      – Not deterring visiting Italian rugby fans from coming over last weekend
      – Not discouraging visitors to Cheltenham, and not quarantining the same people on return (while directing persons coming from elsewhere such as Spain to self-isolate)
      – Not stopping unnecessary large commercial interests, such as the pubs in Temple Bar etc, where close gatherings of many people are occurring and likely leading to the spreading of disease. Moreover some of those operators are laughing at responsible citizens, such as free coronas apparently in Dicey Reilly’s.

Acting effectively would have meant challenging greedy commercial operators. Not FG’s style. Traitors.

        + V-19

All over the shop, scatty and deliberately ployed to assist some party establishment self interests

And it should have being a joint party /inc opposition Health Spokespersons alongside Harris and Leo from the day this National Public Heath Emergency Team got called to order.

      2. A Person

It’s all Leo’s fault blah, blah effing blah. What is wrong with you people. We are in a crisis but blame Leo. Where is Mary Lou? Why not make a difference instead of playing the political card. Sorry, I forgot, you guys do eff all except moan.

    2. White Dove

      Bertie, that is very interesting.

I wondered the same about the alleged 11 a.m. Garda announcement of total shut down today, that never happened. But the fact it was rumoured makes it easier for it to happen tomorrow.

All the cribbing about eejits singing and taking the p1ss about a virus that is actually here

    And spreading

    And killing people

    Fupp them

I just hope the staff will be ok
And their employers will look after them if they contract the C-19

I can assure you, employers, owners of the likes of Dicey’s do not give a flying fupp what happens to us. I’ve taken my da’s advice yesterday and went to my manager and negotiated with her – I’m not coming in again now until at least the 29th – but she was upset too and struggling with it all, why should she be there either?? She’s had zero direction from the owners of our popular independent brewery with several outlets around the country except to apparently say “keep on trucking as best you can till we get a clearer steer” a clearer steer!? How much clearer do these greedy c—-s need??? It’s just greed. I know of 2 smaller gaffs who did stay open BUT defo in fairness tried to implement proper controls – lad at the door with a clicker, table service, plenty of space and sanitiser. Now everyone is gonna get shutdown, I reckon it will happen by Tuesday.

I hope there is a proper name and shame done on this, WHO ARE THE OWNERS of these places?? Name and shame them!

and on the politics Dude above has it bang on. Govt are only taking this half-seriously and it’s obvious €verything I’ve seen so far has been balanced…yeah balanced in favour of rich people and their M O N E Y

      1. Janet, I ate my avatar

        definitely name and shame,
won’t be getting my albeit scarce, business after

        1. 01101101 01100011

and I will deffo remember those guys when things resolve eventually! (or even working for one of them who knows)

    2. V

      Just to add

Even if at work and ye are practicing containment and social Distancing to the letter, and rostering working from home shifts
Please also be careful of using the staff canteen / break rooms / water and coffee stations

It’s very easy to put your guard down
And in fairness they’re not always monitored and kept immaculate

You are only as safe as the people alongside you

  8. Kim The Cardassian

Let’s be honest. It’s Temple Bar therefore it’s more than likely tourists etc with very few Irish people taking part. While recommendations have been in place as far as tourism is concerned it has been business as usual.

  9. Matt Pilates

A group of numpties singing “Hands, touching hands, reaching out, touching me, touching you”?

Firing squad for each and every one of them.
