Once again: are these papers save to be handling? Should they not just be viewed online for the coming months.

So emergency legislation has been passed giving sweeping powers to the Gardai and others. In the same article we have Boy Harris ‘asking’ private health providers to open their doors to Covid-19 patients. Why wasn’t that made a requirement in the emergency legislation, instead of rolling out a Harris soundbite?

Like it or not (and nobody does), we own the banks in outlay only. Similar to any private enterprise…..we can ask but not compel.

You see if you posted, it would no doubt be pejorative, derogatory and laced with bigotry. But wait, you did….

Any more rudeness and unpleasantness and it’s kittens for me!

Which would be a shame as I am a valued, clever and normally very entertaining member of the BS commentariat.

We are heading for more deaths than any time since the Second World War and you are whinging about the political reclaiming of a homophobic slur?

Here is a little fact for you to consider- a lot of male nurses are gay and, along with the rest of their profession they are on the front line saving lives right now.

        Grow up.

Beijing doctor suggests the US knew about coronavirus BEFORE China because American researchers are developing vaccines ‘way too quickly’

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8134057/Beijings-expert-suggests-got-strain-coronavirus-China.html

Previous suggestions by Chinese authorities that it came from the US were shot down as deflection but this is citing a required medical timeline and also, inferring that the virus is a bio weapon. This outbreak occurred in close proximity to China’s only level 4 lab for biological warfare in Wuhan of course.

Three researchers in the US have been arrested after lying about their associations with China including Harvard department chair Charles Lieber who has links to Wuhan University.

Meanwhile Trump buys chloroquine, a forty year old anti-malaria drug and directs a large scale clinical trial to begin. He says it’s on a ‘hunch’ but I would think it is a little more than that. It may not clear the virus but most likely helps manage the symptoms.

    1. topsy

French scientists have already pubilished a paper on the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine & azithromycin in treating C19.

      1. scottser

Of course it’s a bio weapon V. Sure, they’re even blaming the leaks on Putin, page 1 denial.

Some scientist are saying that the DNA structure couldn’t possibly occur in nature.

The fact that a blame game is happening at all points to a smoking gun but I would like to think it was an accident rather than deliberate because once released, it can go anywhere in the world and what would be the point of that.

Unless you want to go down the David Icke road and personally, that just melts my head.

          1. Nigel

‘The fact that a blame game is happening at all points to a smoking gun’

No, it doesn’t, not unless and until someone produces an actual smoking gun.

          2. class wario

Sorry now but is the whole origin of it now explicitly tied to the fact that various different animals were alive and intermingling (to a degree obviously as most were caged) in wet markets? So it’s totally fair to say that it “wouldn’t occur in nature” because these species would never physically be near each other, something that’s obviously changed by the market situation. Leaving out that context makes this look a lot more salacious than it is

          3. f_lawless

The narrative that the virus originated at the said seafood market in Wuhan has no real grounding anymore. According to a study published in the Lancet.:

“The first known patient became ill on 1 December 2019 and had no links to the market…

…several groups have calculated that the virus began to spread around mid-November 2019—which supports the thesis that spread may have occurred before any of the cases linked to the market. One group put the origin of the outbreak as early as 18 September 2019.

Bin Cao, a pulmonary specialist at Capital Medical University in Beijing and the corresponding author of The Lancet article, agrees the story is more complicated than many thought. “Now it seems clear that [the] seafood market is not the only origin of the virus,” he wrote in an email to Science. “But to be honest, we still do not know where the virus came from now.” ”

          I’ve no doubt it’s a man-made creation Scottie
Or it’s intended use as a weapon

It’s when Trump is introduced and it goes all deep state, pray away the hurricane, Democrats are slaughtering puppies and using their blood as botox, Hollywood is spraying the gay over us from their chemtrailing private jets, vaccines are inserting nanobots owned by the Clinton Foundation into your bloodstream, and George Soros is really Elvis, and Putin is going to take over Europe and move lock stock and barrel into Versailles, meanwhile all car production in the world will move to Turkey, and Vegans are really an avian species, and Greta is in fact a modern day Manchurian Candidate. Jason Bourne is based on Mike Pence, and the British Royal Family own a two lane tunnel that runs from Swansea to Charleston, and they created Kate from the DNA of the Queen Mother’s favourite horses.

          1. Nigel

There’s as much proof that it’s man-made as there is for all the stuff you roll your eyes at. This is how the window for what’s credible gets moved incrementally towards the Trumpian end of the scale.

Against advice from experts, based on a supposed hunch, that unqualified human fart is prescribing medication to millions, gambling that so long as it doesn’t outright kill anyone he can futz whatever the outcome is and claim credit for pushing a silver bullet and saving the world.

      1. some old queen

But it is not against the advice of experts, they are just saying that it has not been FDA approved for use against COVID-19 is all. But time is not on their side and if a drug has been well tested with minor side effects then what is there to lose?

        1. Nigel

It hasn’t been well-tested, not as a combination, not against the coronavirus, for feck’s sake. What’s to lose is all the people who actually need those drugs who suddenly can’t get them because there’s a run on them by fools taking medical advice from a colossal idiot to pwn the libs. What’s the lose is all the steps being taken – social isolation and business shut-downs, any sort of pandemic response plan – that are there to buy time for the development of a cure because suddenly all these fools think the president’s snake oil will save them. It’s breath-takingly irresponsible.

          1. some old queen

Oh come Nigel- there will be no run on a 40 year old anti malaria drug. At the moment SOME medics want to hold back and he has over ruled them. How many of those medics are also in big Pharma’s pocket is another story.

What have we got to lose he said and most people agree with him, especially those who are seriously ill. He’s not touting it as a cure, he just shoved it into clinical trails, same as what is going on in China with the RA drug Tocilizumab and high dose IV Vitamin C.

          2. Nigel

Of course there’s going to be a run on them.
What qualified medic thinks pushing an untested combination of drugs is a good idea?
Not touting it as a cure? Trump: ‘HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine. The FDA has moved mountains’
(The FDA had to deny that they had approved the combination as a treatment.)

The dailymail is an unreliable source of tabloid gossip at best….

I think this is far more interesting for people to look at and it covers and answers many of the questions around topics being discussed at the moment…

Why under Obama in the US, was there no quarantine and preventative procedures enforced for the H1N1 virus outbreak that had killed eighteen thousand people at the time?…

As an alternative viewpoint to the mainstream narrative from a respected, credible and so-called “expert” and for more insight into what’s going on from a different and wider perspective…
      – You can make of it what you like but keep asking questions etc…

      1. some old queen

        Yes I seen that.

Conspiracy stuff about currencies etc aside- you cannot compare the TOTAL fatalities of H1N1 in hindsight against an outbreak which is only beginning in the US- which is what he is doing.

        1. :-Joe

I’m not sure where you got currency conspiracy from in that… but he’s talking about about various factors from globalisation, geo-politics, politics, economics and healthcare and others etc. etc. if that’s what you mean?…

          :-J

          1. some old queen

Well he suggesting that these things are a response to a threat of the US dollar as the world’s base currency. Once I hear terms like global elites and deep state I am are straight into David Icke territory and then, before long you’ll have little green men doing the can can across your screen.

My theory is a little more based in fact- I hope. We have a number of level 4, (the highest) bio warfare labs across the world- this is not up for dispute- the most dangerous places on earth.

We also have a Pharma industry who knows that treatments are always more profitable than cures- HIV for example, even more revenue if they can develop a drug to prevent infection.

Is it really then so unreasonable to think that a) this thing leaked out of somewhere and b) big Pharma are unduly influencing the vaccine or cure research by means of the likes of the FDA?

          2. :-Joe

@Some Old Queen… I’m not sure you watched the video or maybe your confusing it with another video but he doesn’t actually say anything specific about the US dollar and threats to currency other than briefly mentioning the effects of economic factors around the world e.g. that may or may not be also influencing the situation.

You’re misrepresenting what he actually says by calling it conspiracy theory and associating him with David Icke just because he uses the terms “the deep state” and “global elites” which are real terms that are widely used in academic and intellectual circles and are clearly factual and real. Unless you’re ignorant, confused, naive or maybe deluded etc?

Assuming you’ve watched the video… It’s funny that you dismiss his experience, qualifications, credibility and common sense opinion and advice about immune system health, among many other topics… all as conspiracy and then you go on straight after to literally claim there may well be an actual conspiracy!! Hehe..

I’m not ruling out the possibility of what you are talking about, just look up the history of COINTELPRO for the most recent example of the largest government conspiracy but I have to call you out on your response to the post above. It just doesn’t make any sense to me and smacks of lazy dimissal for one reason or another.

The most likely cause of the virus outbreak is the fact that China is still a developing country in many ways. The virus most likely transferred from animal(wild cat) to a human and whether or not it’s through destruction of the environment exposing new viruses or poor quality sanitation and health systems within a locally weak infrastructure, the virus most likely came from that scenario before spreading around the globe.

Your “theory” based in fact is literally the plot of Outbreak 1995 – An unintentionally hilariously funny and camp hollywood film about a deadly virus pandemic.

If you want something more serious and down to earth, watch Contagion 20xx (I forget which year). Makes a great double bill if you’re not too sensitive….

            :-J

          3. some old queen

Sorry Joe but this guy is a self-promoting waffler who is running for office.

He states very early on he is political and uses terms like deep state, global elites and people with no national interests- this sort of Trump conspiracy bullpoo is not used in academic circles. He cites countries becoming nationalist as a reason for the corona virus outbreak- a deliberately deployed and targeted bio-weapon then is it- really?

And back to my original point- you cannot compare an outbreak which is only beginning with one which has happened in the past. Best guestimates is to apply the exponential growth trajectory of Italy to the US and then compare the two. I’d go further and say that US is going to be hit way harder than Italy because they don’t have anywhere near the same level of health care facilities.

He’s not the only one doing this btw- I have seen several other Americans at the same thing- big complex presentations failing on one single basic fact- COVID-19 hasn’t even got warmed up in the US yet.

          4. :-Joe

            @some old queen
Ye ok, I can see your point about his political ambitions but would you blame him for what is hardly what you could call even basic self-promotion.. and when he’s trying to get elected to fix problems all that all bad?

if you take what he’s talking about from a health and historical perspective on the whole.. he points out that the key factors to surviving this and other pandemics, particularly for the elderly and immuno-comprimised is to build up your own personal health and immune system as strong as possible.

A lot of it might seem obvious but there are options to boost the most needy much faster through introvenous doses of vitamins that have been known to work as a strong defence which are not even being discussed.

Let alone the overall reality that clean air, water and food and repairing and protecting the environment and helping other less wealthy or fortunate countries… is the only long term solution to this not happening again more frequently.

Sure, he wants to get elected to senate and he’s not a fan of the clinton-esque so-called liberal elites and he’s also running as a republican(or at least he did against Warren previously) but I think he’s coming at this by far more than many with a fair and balanced approach from decades of medical and scientific experience and other economic, technical and political expertise.

I think for better or worse he’d be a lot better than any of the long running and current oligarchy controlled by lobbyists, lawyers and corporations.

He is basically promoting plumbers, electricians, nurses, surgeons and other real problem solvers instead of the current bankers, property speculators and the like…

I can see your points and where you’re coming from.. Although, I still disagree and just wouldn’t put him in with the same bunch that I think you’re talking about.
I think he’s worth listening to and more honest and open-minded than you’re giving him credit for but only time will tell I suppose…

            :-J

          5. :-Joe

Haha wow… just saw this now…

I don’t know what I would even want to say to that last one to be honest.

            Enough said already, nevermind.

            :-J

The reaction of some parts of England to the closing of pubs is quite interesting- and very different to Ireland. This despite the fact that Ireland has way more pubs and, it was coming up to St Patrick’s day.

Tim Martin owner of Wetherspoons says he intends to keep his chain open, downplaying the risks to health. He said “There’s hardly been any transmission of the virus within pubs and I think it’s over the top to shut them. “

#bycottwetherspoons is trending on twitter of course.

    1. Gombeen

      Actually they are closing
A nephew in Munich states the cafe restaurant is still open up to 6pm

If there are any demented mammys out there , a daughter of mine took her two youngest to see “The Lion King” in a drive in movie set up . Somewhere near Castleknock , . Sounds like a great idea for the waste lands that nowadays are the car parks of shopping centers
