This morning.

Via RTÉ News:

RTÉ is planning to broadcast an hour of ‘school on TV’ to support children and their parents at home.

It is part of a cross-platform teaching initiative that is being pulled together by RTÉ at short notice with the support of the Department of Education.

It is hoped that the one-hour programme will begin on Monday 30 March. It will run from 11am to 12pm, Monday to Friday on RTÉ2, with a shorter “catch-up” segment later in the afternoon. It will be aimed particularly at children in 1st to 6th class.

    Begins Monday 30th…

Is this a confirmation then that the March 29th ‘end date’ to the current status has been scrapped, and it is as all* expected going to be a date well past Easter before any normalcy is resumed… Hmmmm…

Or was there already an announcement I missed ?

(*that I’ve discussed it with anyway.)

First thing I noted too. I heard an opinion piece on the radio that the interregnum could last well past the Easter holidays.

Shur haven’t I been telling ye
They’ll be out till 1st September, betcha

they’ll bring the leaving certs back after Easter, under special conditions and layouts in schools

the best thing to do with the Inter Certs (yeah I know, stubbornly old school me) is park it to September
when in normal circumstances they’re taking the p155 out of Transition Year anyway

I reckon some Gaelteach Courses and Bean an Tí lodging will get the go ahead, but I’d say every place will be gone within an hour
And priced up to make up for the reduced head count

      The link is broken now.
I wonder if they pulled it because it pretty much confirms the extension.

I remember watching Stop, Look, Listen and Picture Box on school telly in the 70’s. Class stuff.
