I’d say the Gardaí are loving how quiet it is. Fewer injuries from dealing with drunks for a start.

Anecdotally, drivers seem just as reckless as they’ve always been, in spite of the lack of traffic. Still running red lights and tailgating. Speeding appears to have increased. This is with my pedestrian hat on even.

Probably because of rather than in spite of the lighter traffic but I am far from an expert in these matters

Why are we still accommodating the Irish muppets in Spain and elsewhere? Shut the airports , fools returning now are going to cause a surge. The models HSE are using don’t factor infected new entrants flying in.

In theory at least anyone newly returned should be going into two weeks of self isolation. In theory.

Ah you see, the do now belongs to the Mugger family… They just didn’t finish the sentence

The death toll in Italy is about to surpass 5,000 tonight
The reports I’m reading are horrific
I casually sneak out through the patio doors so my kids don’t see my tears

Most people here are not taking this pandemic seriously enough
It’s crazy that so many are carrying on as normal,
like we won’t be affected the same way?
The true numbers are many times what are being reported by the HSE!
Ask an EMT if you know one

I had to go into town for a few minutes and it’s absolutely deserted. I think people may be taking it seriously

Was in town earlier and it felt very … 1989. A few pasty stragglers and a very quiet Temple Bar that brought me back to the quieter days of bad ass cafe and buying smelly second hand flares in flip for £(punt)3. A weird mix of feeling sad and nostalgiac.
