I reacted immediately to the announcement of the Deputy first Minister of The North, I bought a couple of cases of Guinness and couple of bottles of Jamesons – I should be good for a day, or two. I did self-sacrifice, for the greater good, by not buying my go-to wine, Chilean St. Helena Sauvignon Blanc.
Slightly Bemused
I plan to do something similar in the morning. You cannot get masks or gloves for love not money in my town, though, so I may be stuck in for a while. I may not be so forbearing, so :)

I’ve been self-isolating, until my supplies ran low, today – I watched back-to-back, “Bored To Death” on Now TV. “Curb Your Enthusiasm – Godammit, is Ted Danson in everything? He’s very good, though…

Sorry, bored?
Slightly Bemused
No idea. I have not watched any series with Ted Danson in it since Cheers.
Do the Three Men and a.. films count as a series?

Remind me again why we continue to have unrestricted travel with areas and countries that are on lockdown?
While you’re at it explain to me why our Airports are still open to passengers from anywhere
:-Joe
Some people just have to travel in various circumstances..
Think Emergency situations, necessity, work, delayed returns, people fleeing human rights or disaster situations, people who don’t care about infecting others or themselves and people on the run from the law / the missus etc.
I’m not sure what else would be the most unusual or interesting reason that applys?..

Ye, Trouper?.. show?..
– Is she putting on a military based musical in the two bedroomed sauna complex?
The one thing that really bothers me is how, as soon as she became famous and got in the papers as the face of corona/covid19 Ireland..
Quick as a flash she ditched her co-anchor like a flaming hot potato. Along with the previous crew, what happened to him/them and both are nowhere to be seen since?..
Conspiracy or bored speculation due to the mild onset of cabin fever?.. You decide.
All I know for sure is, Lampy McLampFace deserved better from these unscrupulous fame and celebrity media attention addicts
Given the emergency we are all now under
I doubt anyone is manipulating it for personal promotion, and taking the weewee
I sincerely hope not anyway
And Claire Byrne had a prime time profile before this
Although I’d prefer to see her conduct herself a bit more privately while she recovers
People are going to die
And she is promoting a false hope – the one that lets people think they can still work
And get on with it
And that’s fundamentally __cked up, and a dangerous message being promoted by our mainstream
Mind you, if what I’ve heard this morning is true
She’ll be knocked off the news by tea time
Janet, I ate my avatar
yes rest is super important for recovery

Fantastic hair-do on Claire. Them makey-up and hairdressers can do a fantastic job at 2M.

So Iceland is saying that 50% of those who tested positive are asymptomatic. If replicated, this means the infection rate is way higher than most estimates and it is the most important figure of all. Also S Korea for example includes people who are asymptomatic in its official count- while China does not.
Japan is also saying that “…a substantial proportion of secondary transmission may occur prior to illness onset,” which brings me back to the question as to why an assumption was made that only symptomatic people were infectious. I am not a virologist but it would make sense that after contraction when the viral load is at its highest, that is when a person would be most infectious- that is how most virus transmissions work surely?
Also Wuhan scheduled to come out of lock down on April 8 and is now focusing on its ‘silent carriers’, which supports Japan’s claim.
I think realistically we can expect to get it or have had it the trick is to slow down the volume of cases that need hospitalisation and to protect the old long enough to get to vacine/cure/ immunity
Do you not think the Lisburn road has suffered enough?
Shayna
That’s gorgeous, there’ll be a tad screeching – perhaps, neighbours will think Sherlock Holmes has moved next door, and is merely pondering on a new case?

You’ve already had the PSNI at your door for blasting Amhrán na bhFiann Shayna- you don’t want the RSPCA demanding to know what you are doing to that poor cat as well eh?
Shayna
It was a “Thing” of The Lock Down – I played violin when I was a kid. I bought a violin to re-learn, if you will, help fill the void of self-isolation. Also, I cannot sing – if you play guitar – that’s a kinda given – most types who play guitar – burst into song. Shayna leaves her singing in the shower .
Well the far too indulgent peeptoe booties I bought last Thursday (Ebayer in the US)
Arrived this morning

Which, is a resonating sentiment. Given the current climate. I love the making of scrambled eggs in a disco ball dress, Janet – V – you’re onto one there.

Interesting read: Italian philosopher, Giorgio Agamben’s, reflections on the influence the current pandemic is having on Italian society.
