A Limerick A Day

at

Tim Martin, Chairman of Weatherspoons pub chain, came under fire as he said the company would not cover staff wages from the coronavirus

A gammon-faced arsehole called Tim
(Who’s unpleasant and seriously dim)
Thinks it’s a good laugh
To shit on his staff
His soul, like his pubs, is just grim.

John Moynes

I’m being a bit of a hypocrite, as I have definitely wished unpleasant things on that CONSTANTLY wailing child downstairs in the darkest hours of the night ..and all day,
I’m seriously thinking of moving, covid or no covid

Ah no Janet that’s terrible. Any idea how old the child is? Like, when they’re a baby, it’s different situation – they can’t really help it. But once you start heading into the toddler/young years, it’s harder to excuse. Even in your own child.

just about to turn two, I know kids cry been there,
but this is exceptional tantrums and wailing, all the time…
I asked what time his nap is so I could make sure I wasn’t disturbing that and contributing to the mayhem only to be answered “what nap ?”…they haven’t a clue

After some very difficult ones of my own, I almost like the sound of a crying inconsolable child. I find it comforting that I don’t have to deal with it..

Yup, I would more like to see a boycott of weatherspoons by customers and supplier once we are over this.

while Tim Martin has clearly displayed an ugliness and evidence of detachment it is broadsheet that has allowed Moynes to broadcast his filthy racism.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for a business which is encountering through no fault of its own a fiscal dryspell to ask its suppliers if they can defer payment
    It’s what I’d do
As for not paying staff until they receive the grant on April 3 – right? That’s a week away. I imagine that saying they’ll be paid for their work until Friday means they’ll be paid for that work on Friday, which is today. And then a week passes, it’s April 3, the grant comes in, the payment goes out, people get their money. And then it continues to happen every week after that.
    What am I missing here?
