This morning.
Scenes from Dublin city centre (including Tesco, Lidl plus the testing centre at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay) and the Phoenix Park.
Meanwhile…

Looks like Geneva on a Sunday
I have a pal who works in a bar there, it’s so fupping boring he regularly calls me to have a Skype pint
…most people haven’t been to Huntsville, Alabama on a sunday…and now you don’t have to…
fun fact
Huntsville was originally called Twickenham before it changed to honour the first settler John Hunt.
Or Germany.
The only reason I know this is that I was bored one week and decided to take a quick trip to anywhere and to help me decide i stuck a pin in a map, and Switzerland came up. I flew out on Saturday evening, and back on monday morning.
Most shops were closed, the streets like above – almost deserted but I was impressed with the city itself though.
I get to go there a few times a year and I’m not very fond of it. The old town is pretty as is the lake. The other side of the lake is quite seedy tho and there’s a roaring trade in sex work that keeps the IGO set well serviced. And as for the price of stuff…. Well, as an economic indicator, a regular Big Mac meal costs about €15… I don’t really like the place at all.
I looked around the lake area only. Found a nice ‘Irish’ pub, had a few Bulmers, only to find it was not C&C stuff. Tasted much the same though. But fairly bored to be honest. Still, it was a change and the lake area is really nice.
Muligans by any chance ?
Cant remember Janet. It was a very small place. It was between the lake and the airport – tram lines went by it.
sound like the Btittania
*Brittania
Think you’re correct Janet. I just looked at a photo of it. Feck I must have been piddled.
lol
Those were the days GG, I wish I could just jump on a bus and go to the terminus at this stage!
I once had the joy of living there for a few months. About the best thing going for it was the really expensive overpriced Big Mac.
Oh, and it snowed!
Don’t forget the pooey, overpriced pasta. Or noodles as they called them. Was once charged €45 for 6 slices of tomato and some lettuce.
That was as a starter I should add. You don’t what to know what the pooey plate of nudeln cost
We need a new government. The Blueshirts haven’t got a handle on the crisis at all. Our health staff have no confidence in Simon Harris.
You asked them that… yeah?
Explain?
The Internet told me I’m stupid.
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
the figures the HSE are reporting are false so what confidence can you have in them. by turn Simon Harris is the man in charge and if he isn’t questioning those figures what confidence can you have in him?
If SF, FF, the Greens, the indies and so on really, really wanted to run the show, they really really could. But they don’t and won’t. Because they’re cowards.
+37 +38 +12 +1
…a lot of us thought that the FFers were a republican party and that a republican alternative could be formed…but then…some of us believed that the labour party were socialist…
…and a lot of us believed that Sinn Féin were nationalist…
…nope…that’s was what became the SDLP…or green tories as they were called back in the day…
…showing your age now dear- NI SF couldn’t lead a dog in this current…
…maybe showing my age…but the young ones are saying that nationalism is dead and gone…and in the grave with Mallon…
Irish nationalism is no longer by NI labels- do try to keep up eh?
…would that be Devs real nationalists or Meholes continuity nationalists…
…I have no idea- Tears O’Neill however believes that all independent license retailers in NI are going to ensure that Sinn Fein are going to get an absolute hammering come next election…
…rumours of the shinners demise have been sadly exaggerated by you green tories in the past…
where’s everyone getting the masks from ?
You can make one easily enough from a t- shirt if you can find elastic band. How are you feeling BB? Are you out the other side.
yes, im grand, thanks
Good to hear brother
thanks johnny
nice to see you again the other evening, by the way
hope you’re well
my Chinese landlady gifted me a few
They are selling them on the stalls around Meath st. Like you’d put them near your face after half of Dublin walked past and fondled them. And that’s before you know which Chinese sweatshop they got them from.
A lot of the masks being sold on street corners are more than likely the ones stolen from hospitals. I know when the first bunch went missing from Temple Street, they ended up for sale on Henry Street.
China.
BB, if you have any clean brassieres knocking around, you could make two masks – necessity is the mother of invention apparently, and if it’s good enough for Plato…
P.S. I’m glad your feeling better.
Any coppers outside copper face jacks?
What is ‘individual personal exercise’, anyone??
come on now, with a name like that you already know the answer
Zing!
Off to Spec Savers for you already.
Day 16
#WhatWouldFrillyDo
Make Carrot & Coriander (+ Garam Marsala to taste) soup Wholemeal Bread (Buttermilk + extra seeds to taste)
Walk Dog (well 40kg Bassett style)
Dish out jobs to teenager (like make your own tea)
The Rightous Gemstones
+yesterday’s (nicer a day after) polenta almond rasa squares + Limonchello Spritzer
And if there’s time, Radox salts foot soak
Why haven’t the cops proper protection, how are they then going to police the restrictions
when so exposed
Absolutely. Saw 20 or so uniformed guards responding to an incident on Henry st about 10 days ago. Not a mask between them and not much social distancing going on either.
That isn’t Sutton. That is at the corner of the Kilbarrack road.
Sorry, Georg, fixed now. Thanks.
It’s Day 104 of coronavirus ;- 16th December was when a patient in China proved resistent to treatment & 27th December Wuhan officials acknowledged that new corona virus was causing the illness. If patient had two weeks incubation before illness it could be Day 118 ….just saying…..
