If that’s it, its opportunistic politicking and dumb as a bag of hammers.

Doctors around the world say hydroxychloroquine, which was touted by Trump, is the best treatment they’ve used on coronavirus patients in survey of 6,200 medics
I find it interesting how many people allowed their judgement to be clouded just because they didn’t want Trump to be right. I don’t like the man either but I knew he wasn’t putting himself on the line just because of a hunch. That Israel were flying it into the US by the planeload was a pretty good indication that he was onto something- and he was.
It is not a cure but the earlier a patient starts treatment the better- no word of it in the Irish MSM of course.
Formerly Known As @ireland.com
Trump didn’t think of it. He was just spouting his usual drivel. Some medic mentioned it to him. I doubt he was meant to broadcast it.
Anyways. The problem is pretty much most of what comes out of his mouth is braggadocio and downright lies.

Broadband engineers threatened due to 5G coronavirus conspiracies – Guardian
Popular petition to block roll out due to health conspiracy deleted to stop spread of misinformation- Independent
‘Conspiracy theorists BURN 5G masts’ as UK mobile network providers are forced to deny ‘baseless’ claims that ‘radiation sparked coronavirus’ as they spread online- Daily Mail.
Propaganda at its finest. Not one of these papers explain that the reason this conspiracy theory is becoming so widespread is because the Telecoms companies are acting under the cover of lock down to install military grade technology.
If governments genuinely believe that this is essential work while the rest of us are under near house arrest- then let them explain why.
The good side of this behaviour is that more people will become aware of the risks of 5G of course.
SOQ posting random conspiracy theory links once again.

So Frank Clegg, former President of Microsoft Canada- is a conspiracy nut now is he?
One thing I really would like to know- when I was in my teens and twenties, the young Left were anti establishment and anti authority to the core. Now, they are the ones supporting big telecom and big pharma and wanting to muzzle everyone- how did that happen?
Can you explain what this man’s credentials are here exactly? In terms of public health or science? Try not to just repeat his former, irrelevant, title.
Pat Mustard
Public health is irrelevant.
In terms of science, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at a radiation spectrum chart and notice 5g right next to gamma radiation to be able to comprehend if its safe or not.
Do you feel safe living with gamma rats wario?
some old queen
When it comes to public health policies on radiation, the advice is already coming from the tech sector- where else is it supposed to come from? Problem is, those individuals are bought and paid for by the telecoms industry.
Israel has already banned WiFi in kindergartens and have advised that where possible, all devices should be wired in schools- IMO they are 100% right.
Bottom line is- 5G has not been proven safe but if you can provide links to academic studies saying otherwise, feel free to post. But you won’t- because you are bluffing.
D
It’s kind of hard to do a study to prove/disprove ‘scientifically’ that something breaks the (current) laws of physics. If 5g or the frequencies that it used actually caused tumours, it would require new physics and biology to explain why. Mustard is way off base with the gamma rays comment as 5g etc are in the non ionizing part of the spectrum.
SOQ you can’t prove anything is safe.
Safe is just an absence of harm – and you can’t prove a negative.
The naysayers need to provide evidence of harm.

Never before has the human race been exposed to such levels of radiation over such a prolonged period of time. No one really knows what effects that will have and sadly, it may take many years to find out, by which time it will be too late.

It was the David McWilliams podcast, where he interviews Prof. Luke O’Neill about coronavirus, roughly a month ago now. It was very interesting, though most of the info is out of date now simply because we know so much more about the virus now than we did then, but, if I remember correctly, he does mention hydroxychloroquine and the success that the Chinese had with more severe cases. Of course its only a brief mention so may not even be worth a listen now.
So, in general, what’s going to change once this pandemic retreats? Here’s my twoppenceworth….
a) 3rd level education now has been proven to be able to be done from home online in some subject areas ( omputer science for example). With proper organization, lectures can be listened to remotely. If attendance is required for some lectures, then organize them for a set day each week. The travel expense to attend (and even an overnight expense) would be cheaper than accommodation? Same with exams. And that would free up accommodation for other uses.
b) Businesses buying from China will probably look seriously at buying in, say, Europe even if costs are higher. The advantage would be quick supply, smaller outlay of funds in advance – cash flow (due to ordering more often but less outlay each transaction enabling sales to finance supply) and better quality. And supporting our european colleagues.
=======
In the meantime, yesterday, the EU has shelved for a while, the duties and VAT on certain medical equipment / PPE, which will reduce the cost to importers by 23 to 45 % depending on the goods.
Only Ireland / Minister for Finance by way of a bill to the Dáil can change our VAT regs, conditions and rates
Same for any other form of taxation, duty and levy
Did I miss something?
BTW
In this case it would be VAT on point of entry
If indeed the purchase (s) were already VAT free but were VAT’able items here in this duristiction
