“Inappropriate, Ill-Thought Out, Disrespectful, Demeaning And Embarrassing”
ah only joking fair play to him

he’s not been a practicing Doctor for a good few years, yes? He’ll need to retrain, some of what he knows could be dangerously out of date. If he does and is acceptably skilled, then I hope he does better this time around.

Yes, some internet rando is probably better able to judge his fitness to practice medicine than the Irish Medical Council.

I’ve worked with people who’ve been out of medical practice for a matter of months and have had to retrain. But yeah, whatever.

He’s been a practicing Taoiseach for a while too. He’s getting the hang of it now though.

I’d be pretty certain he’s being supervised tbh

its not like he’s been appointed Head of Orthapedics in Cappagh ffs

Although it does remind me of that West Wing – the one when Santos get back into flight fatigues and climbs into the cock pit of a fighter jet

      “whinger like Una Mullally.”

Please note use of the adjective “whinger” is unnecessary. The whinging is understood whenever the words “Una Mullally” are used in any sentence.

    They’re all at it now.

Dr Jim McDaid was just spotted driving an ambulance down the wrong side of the N11.

Urrgghh.. Just shut up and quit the job you’ve already failed at…. ffs..

I have trouble believing he understands let alone cares about the hippocratic oath…
    – Seriously, the evidence is still mounting higher as we speak….

A PR stunt if ever I saw one, the sheep will gobble this up, he should of done it in week 1, not week 5

    1. ReproBertie

      Hilarious.

Until he did it he was getting grief for not doing it. Now he’s doing it it’s a PR exercise.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

    A shift a week?

In order for him to make a real difference he needs to be doing at least an 80 hour week. After that he will realise just how under resourced and under funded the HSE really is.

I keep asking but noone responds, not even Noone responds.

Who are the PR team behind Varadkar?
Not by nane, but just give us the general make up of them.
I find them interesting. Considering we pay them €5 million a year aren’t we entitled to know how they operate?

    1. :-Joe

& he needs to be up and ready to start at 6am too..
-Swallow his own self-entitled, arrogant, tory-esque medicine for once.

Jesus wept… Leo could be offering to donate some sick kid one of his kidneys, and BS commentators would be complaining that he was holding out by not donating the second one.

    3. Clampers Outside

Do you think all returning staff do 80hr weeks or something?

If the thousands who are re-registering do a shift each a week, then that will certainly go a long way to helping get the HSE through the current challenges. Some will do more, I’m sure, and fair dues to them.

      1. Andrew

trending on twitter in Ireland means about 6 people are tweeting about it. Nobody cares

    Varadkar’s ‘shift’

Howya Ryan – how are you now?
Howya Ciara – how are you now?
Howya Claire – how are you now?
Howya Micheal – how are you now – any old virus yet – when will we start the coalition?
Howya Madonna – any chance of some tickets – did you get the virus at all?

On another note – at least 5 photographers for the photo-shoot above, and then count the soldiers. – how many people altogether? How many allowed at funerals. Was this photo-shoot really a necessary trip?

He’s probably too tired from having driven to China to personally pick up PPE, as you seemed to think he should have.

      1. GiggidyGoo

No – someone else tried that approach a couple of days ago (maybe yourself?). I pointed out that it’d take too long to drive there and back.

  8. some old queen

Why is the leader of this country, in possibly the worst crisis of our life time, exposing himself to unnecessary health risks?

    1. Rob_G

Did you read the article (or even just the tweet?) He will be giving phone consultations.

  9. Ringsend Incinerator

“he has already completed a telephone session”

Unfortunately it was with Michelle Mulherrin. So that’s this week’s shift done.
