Australia quarantines all arrivals into the country – two weeks in a hotel, with police making sure you stay there. That has slowed the virus. The island of Ireland needs to do the same. That plus loads of testing is going to work, otherwise, it is just going to keep getting worse. Australia has 25 million people and only 54 deaths. Compare the numbers:

Maybe it’s the Sumner there that helps
that 50% recovery rate is worth noting

Ours – last time I ran with numbers I thought were reliable
      Was less than .4%
Big difference between a hair over half of all cases in Oz resulting in Recoveries

And point four of a percent here

IMO the numbers are shady everywhere

I doubt that we are retesting people once they have recovered to show that they are now negative. That is probably why our recovery numbers are so low.

I focus on the deaths because it is the most reliable statistic. It is not perfect as many countries are counting differently. The difference in the number of deaths is probably down to Ireland not doing enough testing.

Oh but aren’t you a tiresome little soul.

Not all commentary here is SF propaganda, or criticism of the usual FF/FG government. Some commenters here, amazingly enough, are capable of trying to see the bigger picture in this crisis, beyond political point scoring and biases.

Remember, the world doesn’t revolve around SF and your sad obsession with them.

It’s not actually.. not for a long time. And, there is a case to be made that the PIRA was nothing more than an overreaction to the fact: Irish Protestants, in the great majority, do not want to share a civil society with their Catholic neighbours. Plain and simple. That’s how it has been and that’s how it appears to be continuing. Please note Robin Swan’s call for the British army to become involved in the current crisis. Here’s the deal: either the DUP get with the program, or, we are going to take it to the next level.. which will result in the most terrible humiliation for Britain.. we don’t want that. Why should you..?

Dumb ass instructions from Michael D Higgins Re the 21:00 candle, people using it as an excuse for a block party.
Who thought this cheap symbolic proposal didn’t have a price.

Never realised how many dumb ass exceptionalists surround me.

    Sickening
