At the gates of Croke Park which is being used as a drive-thru Covid-19 testing centre
This morning.
Eoin English and Daniel O’Connell, in The Irish Examiner, reports:
Concerns have been raised as testing for Covid-19 two of the State’s largest testing facilities has ground to a halt, despite official claims that daily sampling is being ramped up.
…HSE staff at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork have taken just a handful of swab samples from people who have been referred for testing in recent days. The facility operates for just a few hours a day.
Limited activity was observed at Croke Park yesterday by the Irish Examiner.

Anyone?
LE Samuel Beckett also sailed last week.
The LE Niamh is docked now. The ships are on a rotation.
As the days and weeks pass, it will become more and more difficult to maintain this charade.
+19
the tests are being saved for people better than you get over it. RTE celebrities etc. the test centres is just optics so cabbages think the HSE, Socks & mr Burns et al are doing a super job and don’t get all panicky
Please –
no more photos of Croke Park until the season starts up, the separation is killing me.
Responding to Irish Examiner queries last night, Colm Henry, the chief clinical officer of the HSE, said: “We have the capacity at these centres… to accommodate all the demand coming through that had existed from GPs. We have the capacity within hospitals to accommodate demand for testing and hospitals.”
All sorts of ‘officers’ of the HSE giving their tuppenceworth
Reid – Chief Executive Officer
O’Connor – Chief Operations Officer
Henry – Chief Clinical Officer
Haven’t seen anything yet from the Chief Information Officer.
Can we trust anyone in the HSE, after all these years of cockups and blunders?
HSE Confusion reigns. I’m Waiting 16 days for test results in Limerick. I was told at the test centre the tests were being sent to Dublin.Test centre opens for a week then closes down. I have heard nothing since. Really HSE: first it was test people, then they changed the protocol, cancelled peoples tests on the waiting list and told them go back to their busy GP , Now they would only Be testing if people had two symptoms of covid, I was told I would be waiting two days if it was a negative result, up to 5 days if it was positive. I’m waiting 16 days how could HSE do accurate contact tracing in the circumstances. A colleague who has two children with underlying health conditions is waiting 18 days.
It’s really interesting to hear stories like yours, Mary. I’ve been hearing other similar stories, but they are not mine to tell. I think it’s fair to say, that in light of the recent cervical smear debacle, we shouldn’t be one bit surprised.
Also hearing stories of very long waits for results.
Without high volumes of testing, we have no idea whether or not our “stay home” measures are working.
My personal opinion is that a significant number (possibly a majority) of infections are now occurring within the healthcare sector at this point.
A family unit I’m close to – all showing multiple symptoms. Only one was tested (in an at-risk group). Waited 2 weeks for results, which returned positive. None of the other family members were tested because all had recovered, so they won’t be counted in any stats.
Not to mention the recommendation of Holohan to Harris on the Cervical Cancer debacle.
But you did anyway.
Or their Finance Heads
Huge amount of spend on nil activity
That doesn’t wash with me
At all
A well worn line I used with Dept heads back in the day
Get me the activity and I’ll get ye the money
It was all about case mix average cost / per patient treatment – thru-put
So the more activity, especially on day cases like this would be the more money (or less penalties/ Cuts) you’d get from your HSE Allocation, and if you were really good (and clever) maybe a bit of capital spend as well as a few more WTEs
What’s going on with these testing sites
Is the complete opposite of that
19 days now waiting on results. Not 1 symptom. only tested because my wife was showing symptoms. She has been fine , I have been fine. But because of tusla I cannot work til the results come back.
May I ask if you regret taking the test?
The porky pies will catch up with them eventually or will they? So far their friends in the media are playing a blinder, but for how long?
In fairness
While I’m loving all the memes and virtual parades and singsongs
And what lads are getting up to from their back gardens
I’m getting fed up of talking about the Lockdown itself and what we’re all doing etc under it on BS.tv. 2.0
baking, exercise, working from home, what to watch
D’ya know
Tis time to crack that rotten egg open – forget Easter, we need a new form of uprising
And really explore the wider causes and background
And who’s saying what, and why
Rather than our own reactions – domestically, professionally and politically etc day in day out here
And then again on d’telly
It’s all a conspiracy.
Wake up sheeple!
Whatever is in the chatter and clatter around the conception, creator, and virility of this virus, as well as the cure.
Or the secret cartels of billionaires and oligarchic globalisation strategies being spawned, and orchestrated
I’m pretty certain someomes somewheres are ticking off a to-do list, and in control of something, a lot of somethings actually
While our crowd here in acting Government are just mere followers
And aren’t making any Independent decisions, and in an Acting capacity so they’re all free from being held responsible, or to blame. A quick unexpected dash to the Áras indeed.
Dr Holohan & the top table at the Government Buildings briefing stage are only doing the jobs they are trained and qualified to do, and actually employed to do. They are professionally indemnified, and none of them would be seen near the NCH €000,000,000s farce.
But our now Acting Government left their fingerprints all over it – how’s that for National Health and Wellbeing management at Political level?
I’m the most sceptical person I know when it comes to the
they’re all against us – it’s a massive world order deep state plot – vaccines are a form of population control by big pharma who are really controlled by a family trust in Mauritania – 5g can give you the runs
Carry on
So if even I can suss there is a bigger story and a series of separate agendas behind all this, and being followed -through on, particularly locally, I’m pretty sure they’re are plenty non tingfoil caps like me do too.
Look at the appointment of Paul Reid FFS
On the back of Tony O’Brien. Himself a strategic “insider appointment” by then Minister J O’Reilly who had set out to disband the Board of the HSE; and a man who is very fond of private medicine and an advocate for proper reward for those in the medical profession at an operational level. Look at his entry into politics and his role in the IMO, and his negotiation for GPs to partake in the over 70s medical card scheme.
Btw, Reid himself is no stranger to big industrial corporate interests himself, or his own. Ask his former Union colleagues about the time he jumped to the other side when P+T became Eircom, and when shares were being negotiated
And I’ve often wondered myself how far away he was from these shenanigans
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/o-reilly-and-soros-to-offer-2-6-billion-for-eircom-1.303937
And that’s just the start of it
On a positive note in regard to speed of testing my partner got tested yesterday result positive today. They are in an at risk group.
A few weeks ago, GOD twitted about the emptiness at the Dock’s testing centre in Dublin. Not a soul around. Some said it was 5am in the morning or that they had run out of tests, but the evidence is adding up.
All very curious. If this virus was anything like the Spanish flu, we’d know all about it. It appears to me that there are a lot fewer deaths from it than what was (hoped) calculated.
