People are dying because of this sort of behaviour- BUT, mainly your Granny was shoved into a private nursing home because your parents were too busy in their status cars and you had no connection and poor people from elsewhere living together killed your Granny.

She passed at home- good for you.
My uncle was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and died twelve years later. Cared for by 6 children, all married, all with kids, in his home, until he died- a rigid sibling schedule.
It wasn’t easy- especially when he became psychotic- but they sure as hell were never standing outside a nursing homes demanding access during a viral pandemic because they had paid for the care.

this is such a load of kak
appreciate I’m being clickbaity here but Sars-CoV-2 hasn’t gone anywhere, we have barely above zero mitigation in play today to improve matters but here we go, all pretending it’s all cool again and pile in like it’s 1999. 40 foot was black today, people crawling over each other, herds of teenagers into the mixing bowl and then back to the gaff to share the goodness.
this is the state saying “well shure at least we tried” and it’s all worked out very well for them after they initially left the barn door wide open and here we are a few tinnies in the park and we’ve all forgotten. until we go to collect the Covid payment again on Tuesday. until another auntie Mary kicks the bucket (but shure she had her time and the bitta money she left will take the edge off I suppose)
wtf was the last 3 months all about?
Cui Bono?
The IFR is only around 0.3% and most likely lower. It’s not a deadly pandemic.
It’s been completely exaggerated to crush the world economies, enrich the billionaires further and enslave the 99%. Sounds crazy but it’s true.
well my neighbour died from it and I know of 2 other households locally who are in the throes of it, but y’know, it doesn’t exist in your head there so no problem

I never said it didn’t exist.
It clearly does but it’s nowhere near as bad as we first thought.
I also know (for all my life) 2 people that died from it too. Both in their 80s with serious co-morbidities.

How’d they get it?
Cui Bono?
they got it in hospital when in for surgery

I am sorry for your neighbour and their family and friends! On their behalf, please accept my condolences.

Life expectancy in Ireland is about 80 years old. Median age for Covid deaths is 84.

That’s a relief!
Most people on this site are in their late 40s / early 50s.
I presume you are a doctor, or someone who knows much more than any doctor.
Either way, thanks for your insight.
Consider me convinced.

Life expectancy changes (increases) the older you get. At birth in Ireland it is 80/82 years old. But that just means that the children born today should live that long.
A 65 year-old today has a life expectancy of +18/+21 more years or to 83/86.

Europe should brace for second wave, says EU coronavirus chief
and it still doesn’t change the fact that the IFR is only 0.3%
Cian
Can you provide dependable evidence for the” fact that the IFR is only 0.3%”?
If not, then it is not a “fact” but a “guess”, an “estimate” or an “opinion”.
Cui Bono?
I sure can and I wouldn’t be going around saying it otherwise.
This is the best and most up to date data we have and it clearly shows the IFR is way lower than the 4% guess that Imperial College came up with at the start of all this.

and over thought. It’s based on no fact and merely a “view”. How “big”, how “small”. We’ve now become even more paranoid since we’ve had more time to read everything that’s written. The media are slavering over this every day.
