      or even a catchy slogan.
and some of those signs are a state – i’m looking at you, cardboard sign guy.

My god, has the Internet created these clowns? How does someone go from watching a video clip to endorsing it completely without actual proff.

What was the purpose of this get together?

I see anti vax, anti RTE, anti Tulsa, anti 5G, anti lock down and pro closed borders- anything else?

Is that ‘Dee in da house’ out front?

      1. SOQ

And there you have it- dare to question anything and you are a Gemmaoid.

Tell me- are you one of those waiting on life saving treatments on the public health system or will have no job to go back to? I doubt it.

Misfits, oddballs and weaponised lost souls…looking for something to fill the gap between reality and themselves..a plentiful source of political power in other jurisdictions, hopefully they will remain nothing more than a mild curiosity here…

So Communicorp henchmen Ivan Yates & Dr Ciara Kelly agree with the ‘red pill lunatic fringe’ Dee Wall & Gemma O’Doherty. There is a very peculiar thing indeed.
Now if only there was a voice from the moderate centre to tell us lets go back to work, send the kids back to school, start playing sports again, go and shop normally, forget about social distancing, go to the pub, go on holiday. Everything is going to be OK.

    1. SOQ

And that is the whole point now isn’t it?

If you are someone who actually works in the vaccine industry and has concerns about how they are made or if you are a telecoms engineer who has likewise- you are immediately tarred with this extremist brush. Of course that brush has to be there in the first place for the labeling to occur and the more distasteful it is, the better.

It is the conformity of ‘them and us’, if you are one of them than you cannot be one of us. Except people hold many differing views but one thing is for certain- you can only lock people up for so long before the consent is removed.

The banner mentions “laws in relation to vaccines” which, to the best of my knowledge, mainly concern Brucellosis in cattle.

I would say if a coronavirus vaccine is marketed tomorrow they will all be lining up for it

  3. Who am I now

    Reminds me of this…

    Who Can It Be Now?
    Men at Work
Who can it be knocking at my door?
Go ‘way, don’t come ’round here no more
Can’t you see that it’s late at night?
I’m very tired, and I’m not feeling right
All I wish is to be alone
Stay away, don’t you invade my home
Best off if you hang outside
Don’t come in, I’ll only run and hide
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
Who can it be knocking at my door?
Make no sound, tip-toe across the floor
If he hears, he’ll knock all day
I’ll be trapped, and here I’ll have to stay
I’ve done no harm, I keep to myself
There’s nothing wrong with my state of mental health
I like it here with my childhood friend
Here they come, those feelings again!
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
Is it the man come to take me away?
    Why do they follow me?
It’s not the future that I can see
    It’s just my fantasy
    Yeah
    Hoo, hoo, hoo
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
    Who can it be now?
Oh oh oh who can it be now?
    Oh where we are
Who can it, who can it
    Oh who can it now
    Oh where we are
    Yeah yeah yeah

Unfortunately it won’t. Not now anyway. The lockdown has been so successful that Covid19 is almost totally eliminated from the community.
Ironic that the very thing they are protesting against is sparing their lives right now.

The lockdown has been so successful that Covid19 is almost totally eliminated from the community.

Even in countries where they never had a lock down?

  4. NobleLocks

Have we an island where we can send these anti-vaxxers to ? I mean really? I really, genuiely want to send these people to an island where they can fully test their anti-vax ideas…

Jesus, ye’re all fierce critical and pass remarkable
not two years ago most of ye were loving this crowd

hanging off their every word, spittled slobbery rant, and following their pointing fingers
egging them on, and letting them egg some of ye on
Even helping them hold their banners

and there most of ye are now – mocking and sneering

    Hypocrites

    Lay’ve them at it

    1. Skeptik

Sure, if it was conducted in a safe manner, socially distanced, etc.
Their actions in the photos above put the wider community at risk.
If it was simply about a bunch of placards then of course let them have at it.
But they increase the risk to everyone’s lives with their actions. A small risk, but a risk nonetheless.

Will we see dawn raids by An Garda Siochana after this, like they did with Jobstown?
I won’t hold my breath, i’ll stick on a mask and wait.

  7. goldenbrown

initially I was a bit confused by what was afoot here over the past couple of weeks
a bunch of attention seeking people united by a common neurosis?
but I get it now, simply in the best Irish tradition:

    NOTHING BETTER TO BE DOING

Contrarians and Libertarians are ‘defying’ the media and political establishment. The flag waving is kind of saying the flagwavers are real patriots while the rest of us are passive spectators.

Some people react to vaccinations. We need research on what percentage of children have reacted and how badly. Can potential reactors be identified in advance and then left out of vaccination programmes?

Other stuff like total lockdown and possibilities for reopening of businesses need to be questioned; but heck, don’t leave the field to contrarian journalists and libertarian demonstrators.
