Oh dear God. The answer to a question nobody asked. Drag queens of Ireland. “How can we make this about us?”

Yep. Because dozens of people giving up their time to raise money for the elderly really does smack of selfishness doesn’t it. Get a life.

You’ve clearly never had to spend much time with a bunch of men pretending to be women singing about how a woman feels.. I’m all for fluidity.. but our descendants will look back on this as a truly bizarre expression of the human race..

          Each to their own CúCú

and in my case, in the house I came from, Danny La Rue was a superstar, the biggest star that ever came out of Cork,
My Nana Lulu’s hall in Iona Green was filled with pictures of him

She and loads of other Dagenham Yanks would travel all over England to see him

One time I had to bring her to the Opera House, oh I dunno late 80s maybe as late as the mid 90s – can’t say for sure
And she talked about the gig for months
every wardrobe change and every word/ lyric out of his mouth didn’t get missed
and now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t even think she took her eyes off him to light a fag
and that was something for a girl that had a smoke before getting out of the bed

And it wasn’t just loyalty to one of her own, from The Marsh/ Middle Parish

          People like to be entertained
Why can’t ye just leave it at that lads
and stop trying to mock, belittle or interrogate what form that takes

And it takes a lot of commitment and dedication to get into top gear drag
          Even the planning alone

I’d say these lads there spend more time getting the lipstick perfected than I do to shower, dress, face on and out the door.

So whether tis your cup ah tay or not
          Credit where credit is due
          So Hon de’ Mná

Apologies for the generalisation Alexis McQueen; Anziety; Ariana Grindr; Aurora Heartfeelia; Bambi Trashelle; Bláthnaid McGee; Bunny O’ Hare; Chanel; Davina Devine; Dizzy Dyin4it; Dolly Grip; Faux Joli; Kiki St. Clair; Letycha le Synn; Mizza; Panti Bliss; Paul Ryder; Phil T. Gorgeous; Pixie Woo; Shirley Temple Bar; Sophia Harte; Veda Beaux Reves and Victoria Secret
