Loved Shoot back in the day. I was about 12/13 and it was sheer, glossy excitement.

Mo Johnston, the first catholic to play for Rangers. I remember a lot of Scottish lads I knew in London at the time being very upset about his transfer from Celtic, I’m sure he is still referred to as Judas by many.

On a brighter note, this has also reminded me of the late 80’s when rumours that the Irish football team had started winning games started to circulate and the Bam! We beat the English in the Euros! What a wonderful time it was, when our low expectations were regularly exceeded in the lead up to Italia 90! Sadly, by USA ’94 everyone was a critic…

Don’t think Celtic would be selling any players to Rangers, then or now. He was signed from Nantes, who had bought him from Celtic.

He was about to sign for Celtic though. I thought he was a super player, would have loved him to sign for Liverpool at the time, credit to Souness for having the guts to sign him.
