I tried to watch the mighty boosh tonight, and a crowd appeared outside the house, all on bended knees. They even kicked over my gnomes, which in fairness do look a bit like Gemma O’Doherty.

“Car seized in Lunney case accidentally burned” – Not much in the way of detail yet, will be interesting to see how this car, a vital piece of evidence potentially, was burned while under the responsibility of the gardai

CCTV cameras probably not functional. Doubtful if a believable explanation will be given anyway.

Just Tony Blair telling us that we’re all going to have to have a digital ID in the future in order to “transact daily life”. It’s going to happen anyway, he says, so the Covid situation is a good reason to start the ball rolling. Unless people can prove their “disease status” with the ID, we won’t be able to return anything like a “near normal”.
What’s not to trust? Tony’s given it his seal of approval!
I see the young Allen lad did 3 months for a crime that carries a mandatory 10 year sentence .. not that anyone should be going to prison for weed, but I’ve seen guys spend 4 and 5 years inside for less..

Comes from a “respectable” family, doesn’t he! A paedo and a pusher in the Allen empire – the pinnacle of respectability.

“The Dutch government will start accepting applications in July from potential cultivators for its adult-use cannabis experiment.
From July 1 until July 28, companies will be able to apply to grow adult-use marijuana for supply to coffee shops in 10 municipalities around the country.”
It isn’t a mandatory sentence. It is a “presumptive sentence” which can be reduced by the judge for the following reasons (I have no idea if any of these apply [was he under 18 at the time?] – 3 months seems very short). Secondly, the amount of time spent in prison is generally less than the judge’s sentence (his sentence was 15 months – agin 3 months seems crazy-short):
(3B) Where a person (other than a child or young person) is convicted of an offence under section 15A, the court shall, in imposing sentence, specify as the minimum period of imprisonment to be served by that person a period of not less than 10 years imprisonment.
(3C) Subsection (3B) of this section shall not apply where the court is satisfied that there are exceptional and specific circumstances relating to the offence, or the person convicted of the offence, which would make a sentence of not less than 10 years imprisonment unjust in all the circumstances and for this purpose the court may have regard to any matters it considers appropriate, including—
(a) whether that person pleaded guilty to the offence and, if so,
(i) the stage at which he indicated the intention to plead guilty, and
(ii) the circumstances in which the indication was given,
and
(b) whether that person materially assisted in the investigation of the offence.

From RTE: He set a headline sentence of five years for the [cannabis] charge but, taking his guilty plea, age and lack of previous convictions in to account, he jailed Allen for two and a half years with the final 15 months suspended. He back-dated the sentence to 8 November last, when Allen spent three months on remand.
15 month sentence + 15 suspended. and he spent 3 + 3 in prison.

Ah, so 6 months is ok then.. how much grass did he bring in again and for how long was he importing.. I wonder who bought the earlier batches that got through.. still, as I said, I don’t think anyone should be going to prison for the weed.

According to some media- JK Rowling has written a ‘controversial’ open letter defending her comments about transgender people. I see nothing controversial about it- i just see common sense.
