Hidden away among all the economic data this week is the IMF prediction that Blighty will have a higher GDP growth of 6.3% than the Euro area (6.0%) in 2021.
Although to be fair Mystic Meg has a better track record of predictions than the IMF.
Still, it’s nice to know.A strong Blighty is good news for Irish exports.
#despitebrexit
you’ve omitted the bit where the IMF says the UK economy is getting dry humped in 2020 to the tune of a 10.2% contraction – with an only partial recovery of 6.3% in 2021
UK output wont return to feb 2020 levels until 2026

Poor Brother.
Omits to mention that the IMF predicts the entire Eurozone economy is getting dry-humped by 10.2% in 2020.
France’s economy will fall by 12.5%, Italy 12.8 %, even Germany drops by 7.8%.
Misses the #despitebrexit point entirely.

Is this the EU stimulus package described by analysts as ” too little and too late ” and on which EU leaders have made little progress towards agreeing ?
The UK economy will be powering ahead while the EU are still arguing over the menu for dinner after the next failed round of talks.
“We believe [sterling] is in the process of evolving into a currency that resembles the underlying reality of the British economy: small and shrinking with a growing dual deficit problem similar to more liquid [emerging market] currencies,” the Bank of America analysts wrote.

Some more good news.
” Dublin is the second most popular city in Europe for fast-growing software companies expanding outside the US, a new report shows. ”
But, of course, it’s all relative.
” However, it lags far behind London, which is where some 60 per cent of companies first land and where 31 per cent of their eventual workforce is located. ”
Obligatory masks on public transport is a great step but who is going to enforce it on trains? Haven’t seen a ticket inspector since February. Besides, I can’t see those guys approaching the hordes of teens boarding the Northern commuter trains that I’m seeing every day. The inspectors also avoid certain other members of society that ride the train, can’t see that changing for this.

2017 isn’t 13 years ago. It is 3.
Unless it’s 2030 and nobody told me.
The poor girl in a “wretched” state was frail , dirty, unkempt, ill health due to poor diet was rescued in 2009 from that hellhole. I stand corrected — it took 8 years to get to Court after that —and 11 years for a file to DoPP. Thank you, CIan!

Kate -the timeline is a lot longer than that for her to be rescued.
As previously revealed by the Irish Examiner, in early 1996, it was initially decided to remove Grace from the foster home. That decision was overturned after the foster father in the family at the centre of the allegations, and another individual, wrote to the then health ministers Michael Noonan and Austin Currie.
I think the Daily Express are too tough on Boris Johnson.

Terrifying! I thought we had 20 years before things got disastrous. Time to start the land grab in Canada, Siberia, North Europe, and other regions that are high above sea level.
That means all of that real estate wealth near New York, London and Tokyo will be worthless in 15 years time. This catastrophe will cause the greatest shift in human habitation the world has ever seen!

Yes they have in certain high profile cases. (And this is wrong: “Justice delayed is justice denied” )
But this may be a perception bias – cases that are settled quickly aren’t news; whereas a case that isn’t settled appears again and again.
