This morning.

Via Metro.co.uk:

The suspension comes after he allegedly tweeted “men aren’t women tho”, in response to a post by the Women’s Institute, who wished a happy Pride to all of its trans members..

Twitter has confirmed that Linehan’s @glinner account has been permanently suspended. A spokesperson for Twitter said: ‘The account has been permanently suspended after repeated violations of our rules against hateful conduct and platform manipulation.’

Father Ted co-creator Graham Linehan permanently suspended from Twitter after tweeting ‘men aren’t women’ in reply to transgender Pride post (Metro.co.uk)

Meanwhile…

In a post on the Mumsnet forum last night, Mr Linehan wrote:

”I’m really sorry to barge in on you Mumsnettters with my problems, but
I’ve been finally suspended from Twitter and I have a feeling they’re either going to ban me or just take my verified tick.

I’ve submitted an appeal with Twitter and the Better Business Bureau but I thought I’d post here too so people knew what was going on.

Recently, I keep being locked out of my account and forced to delete tweets to get back in. The latest tactic by trans rights activists is to run a search for any time I’ve used the word ‘groomer’, a phrase Twitter recently decided was Not Allowed.

This was not a violation of Twitter’s ToS at the time I used the phrase, and I have been careful to avoid it since. I still use the word ‘grooming’ in various permutations because I believe that gender ideology is a form of societal grooming. It is a very real threat to the wellbeing of women and children and if our ability to name a threat is removed, it is even more difficult to fight that threat.

You may remember that Twitter similarly removed Canadian feminist Meghan Murphy. She lost her account when she said “that’s him” about ‘Jessica’ Yaniv. Bear in mind that Yaniv was still going under ‘Jonathan’ at the time, and just as in my case, her crime against Twitter’s Terms of Service was not actually an offence at the time she committed it. She probably never thought she could be banned from the public square for uttering the words “that’s him”. But that’s Twitter.

Twitter has a high percentage of trans-identified employees and for some time has been silencing feminists and their allies who run afoul of its absurd ‘misgendering’ policies.

The one good thing about my situation is that I’m in great company–Claire Graham, Meghan Murphy, Skylar Gwynn, Miranda Yardley, GNC Centric and many more, important feminist and critical voices who have been silenced for fighting a dangerous ideology that tells children it’s possible to be born into the wrong body.

Anyway, that’s what’s happening. Please let people know it’s entirely down to malicious reporting from the usual suspects and please keep watching my YouTube Channel and visiting my depressing blog.

I’ll also be available on Glindr if people from Twitter want to re-establish contact there. Hope it’s ok to post these links to those destinations

God you rabid lefties love to frame disagreement as hate for your simple little naive brains lol – “do ya want an ice pop? What? No! You hate ice pops?”. No I just don’t want an ice pop you moron.

Eitherway though, a civilised society allows people have emotions and a fascist one seeks to silence them. Linehan offered his opinion and his opponents had him silenced.

Everyone who disagrees with a Neo-Right Lefty is a Nazi and driven by hatred didn’t you know?

It’s also true to say that everything the Neo-Right Lefty accuses you of, they are themselves.

          1. Nigel

If you think that’s bad you should have seen what Linehan said about people who disagreed with him.

        2. Nigel

I think Linehan’s behaviour went beyond disagreement. it isn’t as if being anti-trans is particularly frowned upon in society. As opinions go it’s quite prevalent. Ergo, it was his behaviour that led to his suspension, and a private company that suspended him, not his opinons and not ‘rabid lefties.’

            Body shaming though a wibbly-wobbly-wonder.

He is of course completely right.. but let’s not let that get in the way of a lynching..

        1. sidhe

          he’s not right

if you want to use a social media platform, a comment section etc, then generally you have to abide by their rules and regulations; if you can’t manage to do that then they are within their rights to take what steps they like. that’s not censorship.

even broadsheet has a set of rules that commenters are expected to adhere to. comments are routinely edited, amended or even removed in compliance with these rules/with the site’s policy, and commenters who repeatedly disregard these rules have been banned.

          1. Junkface

He is on the right side of Biological Science, therefore he is correct. Gender is not a spectrum, there is no way of advancing in Biological science if you think that. It will lead to bad science, worse healthcare, and on and on. Science is truth. Scientific papers are peer reviewed and challenged all of the time. They don’t run on feelings.

I don’t agree with Glinner’s tactics and obsessive nature on the topic, maybe he’s fearful for his daughters, which is an understandable reason. It would make more sense if he worked in Biology, but he doesn’t.

          2. Sirtuffyknight

The concern isn’t about trans people but rather those who might identify as trans in order to access women’s spaces (e.g. men in prison for sex offences who transition in order to be moved to a women’s prison where they can commit further offences – see Karen White https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/oct/11/transgender-prisoner-who-sexually-assaulted-inmates-jailed-for-life) and/or creep on young girls (like Jessica Yaniv https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/oct/11/transgender-prisoner-who-sexually-assaulted-inmates-jailed-for-life)

          4. Daisy Chainsaw

SirTuffyknight, if all trans women can be branded for the actions of 2, then that means all men can be branded for the actions of the likes of Graham Dwyer and Alan Hawe.

          5. Nigel

If that were true then the focus would be on protecting trans people and cis-or-otherwise women from predatory individuals. Since the hysteria seems focused around trans people as some kind of ill-defined ‘DANGER,’ I think your links are ammo in a process of throwing everything at trans people and seeing what sticks.

          6. Sirtuffyknight

I’m no fan of Glinner and have always hated the way he weaponises social media to attack his dissenters (even before becoming worryingly obsessed with trans issues) but his base argument has always been for the protection of women and women’s spaces.

          7. Nigel

Women and women’s spaces are not under threat from trans people, meanwhile trans people are under threat themselves and need safe spaces, which trans women have always shared with women, up until now, when they are being vilified as a threat to women.

          8. Junkface

@Blackdove Why post about Hermaphrodites in nature? We are not talking about the sex of Sea Horses. We are talking about human beings, the human biology. There are plenty of examples of species in nature that bend the rules of sex and procreation.
Again, no one with a serious career in Science will go against centuries worth of scientific research, study and exploration of Human Biology. That goes against everything the modern trans activists want you to believe.

Are we to believe that in the last five years we are to throw away everything scientists understood about Sex and biology? That is just so ridiculous that it’s laughable.

  2. SOQ

Thing is, a lot of this censoring is not coming from transgender people at all but transgender allies and an increasing number of people feel THEIR militancy is doing way more harm than good.

This is Blair White’s take on the JK Rowling story and IMO she is pretty spot on. She said something really interesting- that the divide is not between left and right but between those who hold a black and white view and those who’s opinions are more nuanced.

you must repeat what we believe

          humans cannot change sex

trans women are male. trans men are female. fact. it cannot be changed.

        2. Clampers Outside

Seen a fair bit of that. Put simply, the BLM mission statements weren’t read by too many who ran to support the slogan… :/

        3. Clampers Outside

A fair question too… I guess she didn’t say ‘groomer’ or a y of the other policed words or phrases.

Is there a list of these words, I wonder?

          1. realPolithicks

Clampers and SOQ what a team you two make, one hasn’t met a “gender” related issue that he hasn’t glommed onto and the other is morphing into jim corr. You dear reader can decide which is which.

          2. SOQ

Well realPolithicks I care about the issue because I was an LGBT activist back in the day and still have friends who are transgender. It is their opinion as well as my own that the Trans movement has been hijacked by militants- most of whom are not even Transgender. You will find an increasing number of gay men ‘awake to the woke’ btw.

Clamps- would you like to declare where your interests come from?

I trust you are keeping well btw.

          3. Clampers Outside

I am well, thanks SOQ. And I trust you too are well.

To ‘declare where my interest’ in this matter comes from…?

            Good question SOQ.

In a nutshell, my own interest stems from my dislike of ideology being used to trump a best practice approach to care.

… I’d like to come back to that and expand on it. Up to me eyes right now :)

@Daisy Chainsaw – What’s wrong with him saying what he wants to say when he wants to. Read back over what you wrote – self-righteous much?

    1. Pee Pee

Those sound like interesting sites. Full of intelligent, inspiring minds no doubt. If someone scribbles some hateful graffiti, it gets removed. Twitter is a public space.

    2. GiggidyGoo

Yep – Parler is probably going to put it up to Twitter big time. And a few years down the line, they will probably turn into another twitter though.

      1. Mick

Have you seen this, on the terms and conditions of Parler: https://twitter.com/reckless.status/1276218637754531840?s=21

Basically, if you or Parler is sued for something you’ve said, you agree to defend and indemnify Parler, and they have the right to conduct their own defence, at your expense!

Also, for the bastion of free speech that Parler supposedly is, it’s worth noting elsewhere in those T & C’s, that you cannot share rumours, or any content that is “sexual in nature”, and they can delete any content they want, even if it doesn’t violate their own policy.
Free Speech, but on Parler’s terms, just like … eh … Twitter!

    3. Nigel

Yeah i’d say any social media platform full of Qanons, incels, Nazis, white nationalists, homophobes, transpohobes, Trump supporters, Brexiteers, libertarians and ‘free speech absolutists’ will be an absolute blast and won’t collapse under the weight of its own toxicity in record time flat.

  4. newsjustin

For his own sake, the break might do him good. Pushing a rock up a hill all the time must take it out of a person.

Compelled speech is wrong, obvs. And he’s probably right to buck against it.

      100%
There are, quite rightly, limits on free speech – but compelled speech is North Korean and we should all stand against it.

Also I would add the Maoist revolutionary thinking to that. Millions of critics, doctors, lawyers were arrested and beaten to death by mob rule during that period in China.

        1. Nigel

Wow that really puts one dude getting his social media account suspended for repeatedly violating the terms and conditions into perspecive, thanks.

        2. Junkface

You don’t recognize when you are on the wrong side of Science and history. This will make fascinating reading for future historians and psychologists.

I dare anyone supporting this far Left doctrine that sex is a spectrum, to debate a biological scientist or an evolutionary scientist. You will never see this debated publicly because they know they are hopelessly clueless about biology and do not have any evidence to support their arguments.

Therefore their argument has no integrity, because they try to hide the real scientific facts and boo loudly or have public fits when scientists or professors stand up to their hysteria and then they try to get them fired and ruin careers.

Does this sound like reasonable mature behaviour? No, it is Cult behaviour.

          1. Nigel

That’s because there is the medicine and the science, which treats, or should be treating, trans people as real people with real rights to access the best healthcare for their physical and mental well being. Everything else is empathy. If you’re not going to get mad at Linehan for ranting and raving obsessively and horribly and making life dangerous for trans people, I don’t see why you would for people exploring the idea of gender as a spectrum, which makes life dangerous for nobody.

          2. Cú Chulainn

Nobody is denying trans people equality or equal health, legal or economic rights.. certainly not JK Rowling or Graham. Far from it. Body or sex dysmorphia is a serious condition but the campaign for equality has been hijacked by far right/left male hatred to women. And is wrapped in intolerance.

          3. Nigel

Cu, if you spent any time listening to trans people talk about their healthcare experiences, you would know that they are often treated appallingly by health care systems. And, yes, extremists on both sides – one side think trans people are predatory monsters and the other thinks they’re human beings who deserve to be treated as such. Not toerating intolerance is the same as intolerance.

          4. Cú Chulainn

Actually Nigel, you’d be quite surprised to learn of my deep and long involvement with trans people and the community. While, in the past there has been a great deal of prejudice, that world has fundamentally changed over the past decade. People are still treated poorly by our health service, but that applies to old people left on trolleys in corridors, needlessly, for days to trans people to women who cannot currently get a smear test. But there is excellent care and support and really good health care workers who want to help. Much of the woke virtue signalling we see is misogyny, plain and simple. It does nothing for trans rights or to create space for a trans community to flourish.

          5. Nigel

Even accepting that as given, and I’ve heard some horror stories, given the current anti-trans backlash, how long will it last? Will we go the way of the UK, which just scrapped a reform of the Gender Recognition Act, or the US, which just made it legal to discriminate against trans people in health care?

It’s astonishing that people have switched to somehow believing that the really dangerous misogyny and homophobia of the moment is coming from trans people. It just beggars belief.

          6. Cú Chulainn

The whole point Nigel, is that it’s not coming from actual trans people.. that’s the whole point. Trans people are acutely aware of the nuance and differences. Trans people, in my experience, tend to be very aware and mindful of other people’s space and feelings. I don’t know a single trans person have a problem with what JK wrote. So why the vile hysteria aimed at her ? That’s the problem and we need to speak out about it.

          7. Nigel

I know a few, and they’re not hysterical, either, and they get quite a bit of vile hysteria themselves. Vile hysterical misogyny online neither begins nor ends with cis people defending trans people, but the accusation sort of bypasses the transphobia and misogyny directed at trans people and their defenders, let alone the broader context of misogyny online.

Ye should post the mumsnet replies telling Glinner to buck off for whinging, they were pretty funny.

        1. Daisy Chainsaw

Mumsnet dwellers are Glinner’s stormtroopers. He’ll point them in the direction of someone he’s been outraged by and set the Mums on them to do his dirty work.

  6. Lilly

He posted that at 3.16am. I understand someone wanting to save the world, but he should get some sleep and get back to work. Twitter has done him a favour.

    1. dylad

Agree, he’s wasting his time. I’ve seen him arguing on this and he’s not doing anyone any favours.

      1. patsy

Tbf he could theoretically be creating an environment where it’s harder to to get a sex change if your a kid which could doing a big favour to a lot of people.

        1. Nigel

Some unpleasant oily obsessive sending hunting packs after other people on twitter is not who you want influencing any health care choices for anyone’s child.

          1. Nigel

The TRAs are coming for your childrens! Brainwashing, mutilating, grooming! It’s the Gay Agenda all over again and we can see how that worked out!

          2. Clampers Outside

Nothing to see here says Nigel… yet even the BBC recognises the need to investigate what is being done to children.

This was recently proven to be a justified and proven concern in the recent BBC documentary / expose on the UKs GIDS Tavistock Centre – see here for more on that expose:

            https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zTRnrp9pXHY

          3. Clampers Outside

LOL all ya want. The point is your mocking of concern for kids is disgusting Nigel.

Truth is, you couldn’t care less for the complete lack of care nor what crazy nonsense experiments are done on kids so long as it is PRO-TRA ideology.

          4. Clampers Outside

As stated before, and I’ll tell you again, every point I’ve ever made on this topic is a point raised by trans-individuals who oppose the TRAs.

But hey, you do you, you keep that tactic so beloved by you, of throwing around accusations.
The tactic of those with no logical argument left, the tactic of the ideological zealot.

You’ve become that which you purport to hate.

You’ve been that way for quite some time too…. :/

          5. Nigel

And lots of other trans people disagree with those trans people so your point, such as it is, is as moot as it is dumb.

          6. Clampers Outside

No. You argue from an ideological position that puts patients at risk, while I argue for a need for a removal of ideology and a focus on best practice and care for patients.

If anyone’s position is moot or dumb it is obviously the ideological one, and that’s yours.

          7. Junkface

Exactly! Do not apply Left wing ideology to Science. Science HAS TO BE free of ideologies in order for it to stay true, accurate and effective. It has to stay centered.

We cannot progress further in Science (and therefore medicine) if it is built on a foundation that is a lie.

          8. Nigel

You are demonising trans people as dangerous idealogues. This is not about health care for trans people, this is you picking a side against a vulnerable minority in yet another stupid and dangerous culture war that will end up denying trans people the health care they need, deserve, and have a right to.

          9. Clampers Outside

There you go again, making spurious accusations, and avoiding all that I have actually said.

I’m stating, as has been proven to be the case, that when care of the patient is put second to an ideology, then the care received is compromised and puts the health of the patient at risk.

Again I wish you would just watch the BBC doc which is just one of a number of reports on the GIDS Tavistock patient care failures due to ideological demands.

I doubt you will watch or read any of the reports as you are clearly just putting your hands over your ears and screaming accusations, so to speak, to block any discussion of patient care out.
Nothing new in that approach of yours, in fairness.

          10. Nigel

Oh my God Junkface thinks letting trans women use women’s bathrooms will bring science to a crashing halt, but ‘TRAs’ are crazy idealogues? Hey, I wonder if fossil fuel industries spendng millions over decades to discredit climate change was detrimental to science and society? Nah, it’s the trans.

          11. Junkface

@Nigel I never said a word about Trans people using bathrooms. I only stated facts about Science and how it should be kept separate from the latest ideologies of the left.
I thought I had very clearly and simply laid out the argument and consequences. I cannot make it any simpler. Your argument has no integrity scientifically, so you are just throwing silly remarks around now.

You must leave your bubble to better understand the real world around you.

          12. Clampers Outside

Aye, Nigel does tend to do this type commentary, throwing everything in to a comment so that it becomes an incoherent mess.

He can then throw a self satisfied tantrum and claim that no one is willing to answer a question he posed or decipher his nonsense to answer a question…. or something to that affect…
Again, nothing new in that kind of word salad commentary.

          13. Nigel

What does it matter, just so long as we’re agreed that trans people are bringing science and medicine crashing down in a furious burning ruin? That’s why Clamps wants to crush trans people under his anti-ideological ideological boot heel.

          14. Clampers Outside

You just keep doing you and your laughable mental gymnastics there. It’s quite the spectacle.

Time for Fr Ted to go too – it’s massively offensive to dementia sufferers, alcoholics, seniors in the community, and features gender stereotyping, and domestic violence.

    https://quillette.com/2020/01/17/why-i-resigned-from-tavistock-trans-identified-children-need-therapy-not-just-affirmation-and-drugs/

by Marcus Evans, ex-Governor of Tavistock.
“We do not fully understand what is going on in this complex area, and it is essential to examine the phenomenon systematically and objectively. But this has become difficult in the current environment, as debate is continually being closed down amidst accusations of transphobia. As I argued in a May, 2019 presentation before the House of Lords, this de facto censorship regime is harming children.

Those who advocate an unquestioning “affirmation”-based approach to trans-identified children often will claim that any delay or hesitation in assisting a child’s desired gender transition may cause irreparable psychological harm, and possibly even lead to suicide. They also typically will cite research purporting to prove that a child who transitions can expect higher levels of psychological health and life satisfaction. None of these claims align substantially with any robust data or studies in this area. Nor do they align with the cases I have encountered over decades as a psychotherapist.”

Another report / interview that Nigel should listen to, or read the transcript of in the following link:

BBC4 Women’s Hour interview with Deborah Cohen on the issue of what Nigel calls “harmless” and “reversible” hormone blockers.
See Nigel’s past discussions on this topic for when he said these things.

If the link is a TLDR for you, the short straight facts are that hormone blockers are neither harmless nor reversible.

Somewhat related to this topic is the case being taken by Barrister Allison Bailey against Stonewall and Garden Court Chambers.

‘It alleges that I have been indirectly discriminated against because both my chambers and Stonewall treat people such as me who hold gender critical beliefs as being bigoted and unworthy of respect.

‘Those people are overwhelmingly women. This treatment is therefore indirectly discriminatory against women.

Yes, by all means search past discussions for me saying aything other than such treatments should only be administered with full medical advice and supervision, free from the input of dangerous hysterical transphobic idealogues like Clampers.
