Dublin City Council and business owners launched a marketing campaign to inform residents and visitors that Dublin Docklands has open for business.

Where’s yer masks?

Meanwhile…

Dublin City Council writes:

Dublin City Council has begun rolling out an uplifting new lamp post banner campaign called ‘Words for our Time’ to welcome people back to the city.

From today, a series of colourful banners will be displayed across the city featuring quotes from some of the great writers of the past whose words still have resonance in 2020.

Some of the writers quoted include W.B. Yeats, Lady Gregory, Bram Stoker, and Jonathan Swift.

As restrictions ease, the feel-good banners are designed to make people smile, and encourage the continuation of the great community spirit seen all over the city during the Covid-19 crisis.

The new campaign will feature on lamp post banners, bus shelters, and digipanels.

Meanwhile…

Jaykers.

Anyone?

…didn’t Stoker write…’ I sometimes think we are all mad but we shall wake to sanity’…seems appropriate…

Good, Dublin city doesn’t have enough Leisure facilities and there aren’t enough things to do that don’t involve alcohol. The only DCC pool in the city centre at Markievicz leisure centre is due to be demolished.
One of the things that I like about London is the outdoor pools. I’d prefer a heated Lido in a park but this sounds pretty good. They describe it as 50m pool though but that’s not what the picture shows. They need to get rid of that bit in the middle so people can actually swim in it not splash about.

What would you prefer another Starbucks?

A complete of over paid wasters on the bridge

As for the swimming pool I can already smell the chlorine that will be used to neutralise the raw sewerage in the water
Then I would say junkies will be shooting up nearby

Swimming pools can use uv light to kill bacteria with no need for chlorine. A very original comment about drug users too. It’s amazing the way people love to compare Dublin unfavorably with other cities but also love to scoff and complain whenever money is to be spent on new amenities. So many people seem to hate Dublin and also oppose any attempts to invest in it.

The bridge reminds me of last year when I was walking down the south side of that bridge on a Sunday morning. Him & her junkies roaring their heads off at each other in the middle of the road. He proceeds to pull down his trackies and poo’s out a kinder egg in front of a load of Italian tourists. She then tries to snatch the bag from one of them. Gets stopped by me and someone else. Ring the Gardai. They then go across the bridge with her attacking him. Gets to the Epic centre and he starts kicking the crap out of her. Kicks to the face etc. Gardai arrive, throw them against the car and puts the 2 in cuffs because she already robbed a purse earlier.

      Sums it all up

As for sea water baths just look at Dunlaoghaire years ago and the one there or was it sea point
What about insurance as remember we Irish have a habit of suing the pants off who ever a quick buck can be extracted from.?

      I can imagine it now
Queuing up to slip on a wet surface with a whole industry of bottom feeding solicitors bringing actions through the high courts

I can also imagine pick pocket heaven on a summers day

Anyway where is the money coming from for this? And is it not better building homes for people ?

      Many more generations

I see your time in limbo hasn’t improved your doom saying negative mindset. Every silver lining has a cloud, right?

“Anyway where is the money coming from for this? “

If you had taken the bother to check before entering into your outrage-spiral, you’d know that it was being funded by private industry – won’t cost taxpayers a dime.

    Great news.

I wonder what the objection from the serial moaners will be this time, given that, unlike white-water rafting, even less well-off people can afford to go swimming.

“even less well-off people can afford to go swimming.”

Yeah but you would prefer if they didn’t Bobby. That’s why most here think you’re a silly boo.

          1. Rob_G

Ok. Tbh I can’t really come up with a comeback, because you haven’t registered enough in my consciousness to know who you are.

          2. Ghost of Yep

Probably because I don’t clock the huge amount of hours/comments you do. Bemoaning the site, comments and people you see as lesser.

Maybe someday I can be that brave, annoying and up my own backside. Someday….

        1. Rob_G

Probably. But apparently enough time to follow my comments; always nice to get feedback from the fans, appreciate it.

I think its absolutely brilliant,we always have a north star or ‘crazy mad’ dream project that we pursue and work on, a big fund in NY is buying up the debt on a semi built city in India and they want to take it off the grid as much as possible, have the city energy and self sufficient with indoor farming.Anyway the point is no one is flying back forth these days to Mumbai but we all worked on the deal, pricing the paper (debt),figuring out a path forward for them, it brought a lot energy and excitement and buzz to the team at a time of quite bit doom and gloom and sickness.
Big big fan this-i thinks its great.
