Compulsory maskage?
To the bikes!
Earlier: Let’s Do Some Shots
UPDATE:
This will only be following failure to comply after Gardaí are called. And the new rules will be accompanied by a public awareness campaign.

Are they the same masks that for months all of our health advisors were adamant that people didn’t know how to wear properly and were more likely to spread infections than hinder them?
No, new ones. Wear a mask.
Just wear the fupping mask ffs, look at whats happening in Texas, Florida, Arizona among other states, this is a direct result of reopening too early and people not wearing masks and social distancing. If you won’t do it for yourself then do it for the people around.
But we’re not Texas or Florida or Arizona or any other US state.
We are a healthier nation and have much better hygiene standards personally and in hospitality and food prep environs* and in the vast majority of work places I’ve been in.
Where are all the spikes and outbreaks from the thousands of house parties that took place across the country in May and early June?
*Apart from meat processing plants which are a disgrace and a huge stain on our international reputation.

You can continue to live in denial if you like but one of the main reasons Ireland did so well with the initial outbreak of covid is because its an island, lets see how things look when you open up to the rest of the world. The R rate is already inching up towards 1 again it won’t take much to kick things into another outbreak, take a look at Melbourne.
I respectfully reject your opinion as I firmly believe it is uninformed and anti-scientific.
Separate to the official easing of restrictions, it’s an undeniable fact now that for last at least two months or so, social distancing has been increasingly disregarded here in Ireland. Everyone has observed the transition. A general “lockdown fatigue” mentality by many (particularly the younger generation), the crowded beaches, BLM protests etc, etc.
The average incubation period between infection and incubation is between 4-6 days. Official estimates of the period between infection and death are put at up to a month. And yet, deaths in Ireland over the last two months have steadily tapered off to zero – the same goes for hospitalisations. There’s been no significant uptick in the last month. The only scenario that really fits these observed events is that a herd immunity has been building up despite the lockdown and social distancing measures – the virus had already spread widely but undetected before the measures were ever put in place.
Thanks for the lecture but when I want expert advice on a subject I rely on actual experts not some anonymous commenter on the interwebs.
The sooner more people accept the reality that the WHO is a corrupted institution the better, Nothing has changed since the swine flu scandal of 2010 where prominent WHO scientists were investigated by the Council of Europe and found to be acting under the wing of pharmaceutical corporations.
It’s understandable that mask-wearing may lend people a certain sense of empowerment that they’re doing something meaningful to fight the virus. But the reality is it’s not backed up by science. Several high-level randomised, controlled trials have already been carried out prior to the WHO’s recent reversal in policy. Unfortunately, NONE of those trials showed that masks are of any measurable benefit in preventing the spread of respiratory viral disease. The WHO’s policy reversal is based on a lower level study that is susceptible to bias. What we’re witnessing is the politicisation of science Worth a read

That’s the best you can come up with to support your conspiracy theory?
A bit late but long one ver due
People killed a Bus driver for enforcing mask wearing on public transport in France.
I hope but doubt the Gardaí will protect drivers etc here.

I thought the idea of lockdown was to flatten the curve and stop the ICU’s getting overwhelmed? Which we did.
And then allow healthy folks to slowly get the virus and build up immunity in the population.
People seem to be obsessed with not getting this thing.
Surely the cases going up while deaths going down is a good thing?
