Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar said:

“I’m sure Mr [Barry] Cown will answer any more questions that are pertinent, more important is that he has made a complaint to the gardaí about this Garda report,

I understand the Commissioner has appointed somebody to investigate. We really need to hear the outcome of that investigation before any more steps are taken.”

Leo Varadkar says Barry Cowen has more questions to answer (Irish Times)

The Times can’t even spell Cowen – Cown (where the link takes you). Top class journalism

By this stage most people have forgotten what they are fighting about. We have a country to build and this is the nonsense the media are giving space to. This petty, poisonous pointscoring behaviour is why no-one trusts journalists any more. That, and the fact that they are West-Brit, self-loathing liberal pains in my Irish tush.

Is AGS now scrambling to correct the Pulse record to show that he did not try to evade the checkpoint?

Is the garda in question being put in his place regarding his position on this matter, or indeed being put in some other place, out of the way.

I wonder with him being a senior FF member and if he had approached the checkpoint might he have been excused considering his alcohol was on the lower end of the scale, the attempt to evade changed that, the guards do not like that.
