NO.

Dublin Civic Trust write:

A fleeting, rare capture of Arnott’s exotic silhouette with its Eastern-inspired central tower and terminating pavilions prior to decapitation in the late 1940s – the rationale at the time declaring the ornaments as serving “no useful purpose.” Other than civitas, heaven forbid.

Steam power (the river barge) and electric power (the cute trams) and the Union Jack above the GPO, just a year before the area was rattled by gunfire.

If I got it right, the pic about the film clip is from about 2:30 in to the vid.

      Yikes! Saw that too
The 1930’s footage will be interesting
If they have any of the blue shirt wearing fascists
      beating the anti-Franco International Brigade
      before they departed to Spain.

Fascinating film reel! There was so much smog in the background and way more Trams than I would have expected. Plus a Union jack flying over the GPO. Interesting
