Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan
🚨 Neasa Hourigan has just voted against the Government
— Gavan Reilly (@gavreilly) July 30, 2020
This afternoon.
Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan voted against her party for a Labour Party motion to extend eviction and rent protection to all tenants and just those affected by Covid.
It’s OK.
She’s only the party’s chief whip.
Meanwhile…
Go on Neasa Hourigan! It is never easy to go against the crowd and speak out for what is right.
We are elected by the people. They and their needs must always come first. This is the type of politician we need in Dáil Éireann. Solidarity and respect for @neasa_neasa ✊ https://t.co/eihvbOYlNt

ah yeah, self preservation, zero respect for her.
Agree
Some Greens put socialist issues ahead of environmental issues. Some Greens tell us that the two are the same thing. The welfare of the people and the welfare of the environment, while interdependent, are distinctly different. things.
there are fourth shades of green after all. as I see it there are three shades. 1. green because of genuine green concerns. 2. green because Vegan and 3. because they’re actually woke-eratti and are using the green cloak to get themselves in clean clothes.
and thus I clothe myself in old odd ends stol’n forth from woke writ and seem a Saint when most I play the Devil.
Can’t pay. Won’t pay.
Like Regina.
I say! that’s a 35 yard left foot screamer top corner rammed right into the stanchion Pat Mustard
he’s got a foot like a traction engine
And Barry Cowen god rest his ministerial soul
Could have, but didn’t. Poor Dinny
Like the BS man said – the Greens are FG on bikes.
headline is a winner
Very Kermit-ish
…she negotiated the deal to prop up FFG…too little too late…sour grapes that she didn’t get her nose in the trough…perfidious greens…hope the Greta generation take back the environmental flag of convenience from these opportunists…
Tis like a Carry on Film
Carry On what tho’
the one where the hotel is falling down around their ears
I’ll go for Carry On Have Your Cake And Eat It
This government is worthy of Sid James laugh alright:

A green with principles, fair play to her.
Unlike hypocrite Eamon (8 crony advisors) Ryan. “Those are my principles, and if you don’t like them… well, I have others” as he sold out his own party to crawl into power for bicycle lanes.
Her action highlights the undemocratic nature of the so outdated whip system. Hopefully more in government will demonstrate the same integrity in future votes. By ignoring the undemocratic whip system, back benchers have real power to influence government policy, it’s time they used it.
…in fairness…who would want Jack Chambers phoning them…summer hols or otherwise…
especially if you’re a woman taking the call
What good’s a chief whip that can’t whip themselves? Amateur hour.
So a TD votes for rent protection and against evictions – and she’s not a member of the opposition. And people can’t cope. A woman who didn’t abandon her commitment to social justice when she got elected.
yeah, it’s a bit like Princess Leia loses the plot and helps negotiate a deal to keep the dark side in business only to misunderstand what their idea of business really is. but like cycle lanes.
“These people just want to be in opposition and not have to make the hard decisions!”
*goes into government and votes against something they object to on principle*
“this is just self-preservation/deferral of duty/whatever”
I’m sure it’s also a hard decision to toe the green party line and further the aims of the Green Party – as advertised.
I gave this politician a second preference on account of her green credentials.
She needs to get on and join Rise so that we can be clear.
When everyone is trying to please me
Baby
In fairness she looks more like Use Your Illusion 2 era Axl

We will all be casting our socially distant general election votes before long.
