This evening.
Leaked last week and, in the traditional manner, released late on the Friday of a Bank Holiday.
The 68-page Special Covid-19 Committee report on the impact of Covid-19 in nursing homes calls for an independent review of almost 1,000 coronavirus-related deaths of people in elderly care.

Ah, the old Bank Holiday release. Stevie learned fast. I wonder how he will cope though with the long-toothed members of FF who were overlooked for ministerships while the new boy lands himself a role.
No pleasing some people.
There are piles of reports that take years to write and/or are sitting in Ministers offices… and you are bitching about one that has been produced in a few months? Better released now than August 2027;
That’s not the gripe. The gripe is the timing of its release. Not the length of time it took to produce.
Timing doesn’t matter either. Dail gone on their holibops, so no one will be around to field questions. Opposition will probably chime in but with 6 weeks of holiers I wouldn’t expect any of them to get stuck in now.
Why not release it on a Tuesday then?
Here’s a thought, if it was only leaked last night then members only had draft copies yesterday. So people worked flat out to get this finished and released today. Not everything is a conspiracy to prevent information being released.
Has anyone here actually read it?
( the following is an attempt at humour by me)
You mean act in such a manner so as to be informed on the topic, as opposed to a barstool at midnight rambling? No, not me. I have my position on it, I’ll get the gist from reading through arguments here and on other forums. It would be more efficient to read the report, but that won’t give as much of a dopamine hit. I need those since I gave up the smokes.
Obviously I am ignoring the comments which will detract from my own view. Prefer to select only the evidence supporting my view.
