This morning.

River Corrib at Galway city.

Peter Skelton tweetz:

They say a picture is worth a thousand words first one (top) taken at 7am, second at 9am. I don’t get this culture of drinking outdoors and leaving all your trash behind. Well done to the City council workers out there 7 days a week keeping our town clean…

Galway banned it in 1998.So, in Galway, it is.

The Galway (Regulation and Control of the Consumption of Intoxicating Liquor in Public Places) Bye-Law 1998. The consumption of all kinds of alcohol in public places, other than licensed premises which have obtained special licences, were outlawed and gardai have the power of arrest without a warrant.

Actually – looking at that, couldn’t it be construed that the usage of Alcohol Hand Sanitizer is consumption, as some of the alcohol would be absorbed into the skin. Could the gardai arrest you then?

And now that you’ve got me going, would the usage of alcoholic hand sanitizer have any affect on reformed alcoholics as regard cravings?

I know – too much time on my hands!

I don’t think if you had a bath in it you’d get a buzz so I’m going to deduce no , we all have to much time on our hands :)

Giggidy your right. That would explain Barry Clown been over the limit. He didnt chuck a uyy either. The alcohol seeped through his fingers and he lost control of the vehikill, causing a 180 degree turn.
It’s important to say, ceann corela

        2. Oh...

I think that in that particular photo it may fall under the jurisdiction of waterways Ireland, not Galway council.

Well done council for doing the job required.
But…’Trash’? Do Irish people really say this word?

I wouldn’t say I’m taking out the trash or the trash truck.
But when its litter left all over the place like that I sometimes would use trash I think partially because it goes with trashing the place which definitely is commonly used.

same with the grand canal. and all the types down there are the very same who march for climate change.

And just think of how much of that has ended up in the river and washed out to sea.

You’ll have the same folk who left all this rubbish behind sharing photos on Instagram of whales full of plastic sheeting and turtles choking on plastic pieces.

      Silly boo?? haha
You could have used; froth, crust, film, waste, dross, residue or spume of the earth.
“Spume of the earth” is my personal favourite.

As a young person who has had many nights on the famous sparch I can say I always take my trash with me I wish more people did so if this continues its going to get to a point where the drinking by laws will actually start getting enforced and it will be ruined for all of us im ashamed at my fellow mates and students for this behaviour.
