Pianist Paul Butler playing at the unveiling of a free to use piano on the platform of Pearse Street Station in Dublin, September 9, 2017
Cheering commuters daily.
Loved by all.
There was only one thing for it.
Plonk.
This afternoon.
Pearse Street Station, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

Chained – no-one will walk away with that.
Thing is, the chains are wrapped around the lifting handles which could be screwed off easily, and the piano put into a rucksack. Then where would they be?
Merely an idea ripped off from a London train station. Try better Irish Rail. Try harder.
Why does it matter where the idea came from?
Paris and Europe in general have been doing this forever in train stations and airports. Doesn’t matter came up with it first, only that it’s being taken away. We can’t have nice things.
They didn’t invent trains either.
Never really worked. Nice idea but far too noisy In a train station where trains are diesel powered.
The one in Connolly seems to get frequent use. It’s a nice idea.
