Oh boy this is a subject close to my heart:

As youngsters in the late 60s, my pals and I were enthralled by these and other pamphlets which were arrayed on a bookstand in the local church doorway – with a moneybox attached in which to deposit 6d…I think.
These were the closet we came towards any minute possibility of racy content!
One pal would keep a lookout while the others thumbed through the pages for any morsel of information regarding the eternal mysteries of sex.
The language was so pure and unsuggestive that we remained no wiser after our speedy covert perusal.
We were totally confused by coy phrases such as; Sins of the Flesh, Impure Thoughts etc.

Other similar booklets included; “What Every Boy/Girl Should Know”
And, as is the case in this photo, almost all written by members of religious orders.
(Write about what you know eh!)

yes from the suffragette expo at the NPM, still a few posters available,
a great little museum to visit even if you aren’t a print need like myself, it’s actually the history of our modern world ! Print was the first internet !

unfortunately no longer free but very reasonable and you can time that to include a guided tour,
the cafe out the back does the best orange and chocolate Brazilian cake on the planet made by a very sweet Brazilian chap, although all the cakes are probably the best I have had in Ireland
