Sunday evening.
A row as big as a fight breaks out on the Boardwalk at the north quays, with at least one person ending up in the Liffey.
Ugly row, excellent commentary (in fairness).
Meanwhile…
I’ve wrote to the Chief Superintendent today alongside the Commissioner.
The complete & utter lack of visible policing right across the city is leading to increased anti social behavior.

I thought it was a Dublin Staycation Bord Fáilte ad..
come mere to me
The Gardai are all on Covid-19 duty, to see how many people are going into houses.
Dublin is a no-go city as far as I’m concerned at the moment.
I went in for a few messages and I won’t be in a hurry to go back, looks grimey, dirty unloved, rundown and full of skangers
Jesus! It really looks like they are running riot in the city. Dublin has a problem, covid 19 crisis just made it way worse, not enough police around to keep them in line. Grim
Open up the military schools, chuck them in there.
Teaching socially defective people to kill more efficiently is an unwise suggestion.
They learn more about discipline and self respect than actual killing. You are thinking of the marines or something. The Irish military does not get into the trained killers part much.
who knows might learn how to make their beds
Lock down Dublin now
Scobies be scobying
Policing is not the problem, knackers are the problem.
it’s clear from the video that southsiders are the problem.
dere’s no facilidies for us etc
knackers gonna knack
a crack squad of 100 bogger guards with batons and anger issues is what’s needed here.
Gardai are afraid, lots of them are. Not sure what they thought the job was.
Could do with more zoom.
This stuff happens in all towns and cities, young ones, same in my day
gives the saying ‘get out and play with the traffic’ a much more vivid meaning
I feel sorry for the poor Muslim woman.
Imagine fleeing some desert hellhole to end up in Dublin.
The last time I was in Dumpland for a rugger international I had to box some miscreant’s ears for his impudence.
The lads with me gave him a few digs too and they were Irish supporters.
What a dump the place is.
I feel sorry for any woman indoctrinated in religious bullpoo wherever they land
Was in Dublin for the first time in months on Saturday afternoon..scruffy and edgy, the luas is like a slow diorama of ignored social problems, a lot of litter and many unfortunately damaged people and associated anti social behavior…, almost barbaric lack of professionally organised social assistance for vulnerable people visible. Poor reflection.
The weather was nice.
This is what’s in store for the upcoming Dublin lockdown.
Full on hunger-games type stuff with knacks running rampant, and CCTV on every corner to catch every entertaining moment.
It’s beautiful to see, the city’s natural predators reclaiming their habitat
Heeeh heh. That made me giggle.
But you can be sure there wasn’t a pint served without a 9 euro toastie.
When you remove the tourists and office workers from the city centre it looks rough as fupp
It is rough as fupp, was never any different.
Expect way more if this when the Dublin lockdown happens again alright. Gonna be great fun
Meanwhile, in Germany, they are now back to 10k punters in stadiums
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/sep/14/hamburg-toni-leistner-confronts-dresden-fans-in-stands-after-german-cup-defeat
Here, you can’t even watch a football match in the pub.
Its 20 times safer to watch football matches outside (with masks) than in a pub without adequate fresh air conditioning and people talking loudly and breathing in each others air.
And how many are we allowed outdoors now after the announcement today?
https://www.rte.ie/sport/other-sport/2020/0915/1165323-crowds-of-200-permitted-to-attend-sporting-events/
Yeah.. makes total sense.
I don’t agree with a lot of the outdoor restrictions Micko, I’ll check their update now. I think 1/3 or 1/2 full stadiums could work out okay, with masks and lots of hand sanitizers just in case.
I just checked the report. 200 is way too low, the stadiums could be half full
The Garda management need to get their fingers out and do a days work for a change. When did anyone last see a much needed constant presence of Garda foot patrols on the boardwalk? The failed boardwalk along with DCC’s idiot urban planning and pedestrian plans for the likes of College Green will turn the centre into a no go area filled with antisocial behaviour. Time to bang some DCC and Garda management heads to together to sort it out or sack them!
pedestrianisation seems to work in ever other city in Europe.
Although in most places deliveries an street cleaning are done at night so punters do not have to dodge lorries and sweeping machines
Everybody acting like anti social behaviour like this is a somehow new phenomenon in Dublin city. Ever has been this way and will always be this way.
Says a lot of the Dublin type when someone just comments and films without calling the guards. Dude could have just as well been stabbed on camera. Animals.
They’re not even wearing masks Joe!
Art did you see Lawless’s post on the papers page about medical passports ? I thought it went someway to a possible answer/ scenario to your questions in another thread.
I didnt Janet, I actually never look at those papers posts, too many things going on in them!
I, for one, think it’s vital that our taxes continue to pay to keep these people living in the style to which they are accustomed, within one mile of O’Connell St – because of ‘comunnitee’, or something…
Sure where would you get it?
Ah heyore!
Anyone who blames this on the Gardai is a fool.
It’s all of the governments’ fault.
We voted for them.
Wait a moment…
