This morning.
Former junior finance minister Michael D’Arcy is to resign his seat in the Seanad to become chief executive of the Irish Association of Investment Management (IAIM), the representative body for the funds and investment industry here.
Mr D’Arcy, who worked on policy towards the funds sector in his role as Minister for State with responsibility for financial services and insurance, takes the job as the industry faces major changes in the wake of Brexit…..
Good times.

Well they were hardly going to hire someone outside the party
Makes sense, no better man/person for the job!
Meet the new enabler for the financial gurus, the human equivalent of a tube of lube.
Blueshirts do what Blueshirts do. A mini-me Hayes.
Minister of State from 2018 to 2020, at the Department of Finance and the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform with special responsibility for Financial Services and Insurance (2018 – 2020)
Does he play golf?
Brian Hayes immediately came to my mind also, when i saw this. Absolutely sickening.
Parasite – (The host does not benefit from the association and is often harmed by it)

I’ll be very surprised if anyone, and I mean anyone, is surprised by this….it looks absolutely scandalous but the spinsters and the compliant media partners will smooth the transition from gamekeeper to poacher,
Is the public interest served by this?
It is not.
As inappropriate as the appointment is I doubt he has much expertise in the area. He’s just there for his contacts and as a talking head. They would be better off hiring the civil servants who wrote his briefs and speeches.
His handling / knowledge of his pet subject – insurance – was a disgrace. Waffle. Parish Pumper. Hopefully this industry has just employed the waster they deserve.
They are employing him not for what he knows but who he knows.
“I have made my fullest contribution to public life and now wish to start a new career.”
Wasn’t much of a contribution.
He failed with his insurance ministry, so I suppose, if you can’t beat them, join them.
We’re gonna need a bigger trough.
Gamekeeper turned poacher.
Don’t be begrudgers, I am sure he is being rewarded on the excellent work he did for and behalf of the financial industry in government. N.B….hint of sarcasm!
public service or self service, what’s a right winger going to do?
Enda Kenny – Vulture Fund employee. (He invites vulture funds into Ireland and facilitated bargains for them.
Hayes – Enough said
Darcy – Enough said.
The financial sector just loooooves these boyos.
Need any further proof of FG’s life goals?
