Yesterday: The Men In White Coats

Ah the cute woman got the chair with the padded seat, while the men have to sit on their dumplings on a hard wooden surface. Chivalry was rife those days.
More Guinness fart related I’d say, horrible letting sly ones out on padded chairs. Seems to trap the air.
Isn’t that what “lean in” is for?
And a sly cough
And the chain smoking strong cigarettes
The drawback to the smoking ban….you can smell everything else. Guilty as charged.
…still remember that smell from the carpet in the Long Hall just after the smoking ban…
Ah that’s why. And we all know that women play the bottom trumpet, so a padded chair is perfect. :-)
Wouldn’t this have been in the hands of John Ryan at this time?
1 beer tap and very few spirits on the shelves behind. Not exactly spoiled for choice were they ?
And ‘Harp’ at that.
Had no idea the Bailey was once one of those old style pubs, like its near neighbour. Keogh’s.
For once, I’m not old enough.
The very place, where in 1966, Patrick Kavanagh invited Luke Kelly to put Raglan Road to song.
And shouldn’t we be grateful that he did.
