My Slovakian gardener has rung in to say he won’t be coming to work on Friday.
Obviously he’s on the piss but also it’s because he laughed himself a hernia when Richie Sadlier said it was the best Irish away performance in years.

I don’t think you can gloat too much old boy. If you want I can post England’s “marvellous” record in both the European Championships and World Cup? Would you like to compare England’s record to Germany, let’s say, not completely different populations? Also, you said in the past you were from the North of England. If so, you should be in a good position to explain the rather huge surge in cases there. Of course, you probably deny that’s even happening, with your rose-tinted Daily Express spectacles. Marvellous.

Sure Have Inferiority Troubles meter off to a flying start at 3 minutes past midnight. Walter Mitty has now added a gardener to tend to the pots on the window sill of the bedsit. ROFL

      1. Charlie

He’s in the bedsit drinking cheap cans of cider and you’re posting at 4:31am. I’m not sure who’s in more dire need of a life.

          1. Charger Salmons

            Indeed.
Let’s all support Ian Baraclough’s Green and White Army instead this Sunday as they play Slovakia in the play-off final to give Ireland some hope of representation at the Aviva next summer.
Think of it as another small step in the long march towards a united Ireland.Catholic and Protestant brother and sister North and South united by the beautiful game.
And a chance to grace the same stage as the mighty Engerland.
It will be a wonderful thing to behold.

They certainly were in the six yard box old sport.
And their penalty taking was nearly as bad as England’s ….

Not sure someone who starts posting at 3.31am and continues for more than 40 posts throughout the day until the late evening is best placed to advise anyone about taking a rest from the internet.
Still I suppose it’s a welcome diversion from the smell of cat pee.

Should be illegal to refer to present situation as a pandemic, in fairness.

      Against the law, I say.

There may be a valid reason for the eviction – but a landlord can’t just change the locks ad throw their stuff on the porch.

    UK journalist Neil Clark says:
“I have written thousands of articles down the years, but this is the most important. The UK govt is not ‘incompetent’. It is following a very clear & very destructive agenda under the guise of ‘fighting a virus’ ”
    https://www.rt.com/op-ed/502795-boris-johnson-uk-great-reset/

I think it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the Irish government is towing the line in all of this too.

    1. Verbatim

Have we heard the phrase “build back better” yet from any of them?
It’s a distressing article. I have a lot of sympathy for the young and people with children – but the youth are resilient and in a few years time, it’ll be “normal” for them, but this will be extreme change.

      1. SOQ

Yes that much has been obvious for quite a while- how can you have a deadly disease running amok and no real increase in over all fatalities?

The Ulster GAA council has cancelled all Club Games – The Derry Final, most recently may have been a tad culpidy on it – exhurberance – Slaughtneil, hurlng, football and camogie champions of Derry. . As much as I love GAA sports – Croke Park should just call a halt this year. I’m quoting purely from memory – The All-Ireland Football Final was played in New York in the 40s. – Cavan won (A mere aside). I think the GAA should cease all games nationwide and cancel the All-Irelands this year.

ah he was tho, Wilde, Shaw and Yeats, had all come from what would have been called Anglo-Irish backgrounds.

          1. Junkface

Saw a history documentary recently and was shocked to discover some of the horrible things that G.B. Shaw said in the 1930’s. He fully supported Genocides!! Especially with regards to Russia and Nazi Germany. Mental!

        2. Junkface

You’re right! My mistake. I was thinking of W.B. Yeats, he was Anglo Irish, his father was a descendant of a Williamite soldier

No new recommendations from Holohan and company on the ‘level’. ?
    Level 3 is OK.

That’s some climbdown from level 5 (and even worse) earlier in the week. Basically Holohan and Nphet are a spent force now.

Leo ‘Colander’ Varadkar is playing with Nphet and FF, while at the same time tightening the noose on himself.

How long more will Donnelly last? What a complete waste of time he has been. Likewise Michéal Martin. As for Eamon Ryan, the best he has been able to do so far is tag along behind the two boyos, in the shadows.

    https://www.independent.ie/business/irish/nama-admits-deficiencies-in-sale-process-that-led-to-10m-loss-39603423.html

“The Comptroller and Auditor General Seamus McCarthy told the PAC that Nama failed to hold a competitive bidding process for the assets or to get an independent valuation, which made it impossible to know whether a better deal might have been struck.

He also said that Nama had failed to document the details of the Avestus transactions, which Nama acknowledged should have been done.”

Ah sure that’s OK. No bidding process (now who benefitted there?). No documentation of Avensus transactions? Really? Transactions not documented? Involving hundreds of millions of Euro?
Yesterday I read of a woman who barely avoided jail for stealing a hairdryer from a hotel room. And then I read this about NAMA.

Aprés Pandemic will see a repeat of this kind of schiesse if we allow it.

Judge in the Keira Bell (and an unnamed mother of a child with autism) v Tavistock and Portman NHS hearing says that Tavistock barrister has misinterpreted “Gillick Competence”, the legal term for whether a child can consent or not to medical treatments.

The idea that children can consent to the prescription of puberty blockers is a “fairy tale” says another of the three judges.
    https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/oct/07/court-hears-children-cannot-consent-to-puberty-blockers

Child experimentation is going to come to an end.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it TRAs!
All those on here who spoke up about this fair dues, all those who labelled those who spoke up as transphobes can go suck an egg.

Well done Keira Bell and the mother of that child!

    1. Clampers Outside

Correction, “fairy tale” was the phrase used by complainants lawyer, not one of the judges.

      1. Clampers Outside

Keira Bell’s QC in summation- regarding capacity of child to consent “Autonomy without comprehension is not autonomy”.

    2. Junkface

That’s good to hear. Some sanity on the issue, teenagers some protection from taking these massive life changing decisions too early.

    3. Nigel

With every day is seems like the UK becomes more of a dystopian nightmare for trans people. Terrifying. Heartbreaking.

      1. Clampers Outside

The fact that you think that proper child protection measures being put in place is some sort of ‘dystopian’ move, despite all the evidence to support it, only shows you to be all the more a ridiculous zealot of trans-ideological activism.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.. You couldn’t give a damn about proper patient care, you only care for the activism despite quality of care.

        1. Nigel

This isn’t child protection. This is transphobic hysteria, no different that Qanon’s hysteria about pedophilia. I’m not even talking about the legal decision – I am in no position to judge the legal issues involved – but the trumphalism that greets it is so ugly and vicious – young trans people are being victimised and abandoned and denied health care and treatment and support. It’s horrifying to watch.

          1. Clampers Outside

It IS about child protection. Your ridiculous comparison to a conspiracy theory shows just how far down the pseudo science rabnit hole you’re willing to go… Jeeez get a grip!

          2. Clampers Outside

This “triumphalism” you speak of… Try saying it directly to Keira Bell and the mother of the autistic child who brought the case, as well as all the other, then children, now adults who’ve been through the Tavistock / GIDS abuse.

            You’re unreal… proper nasty….

          3. Clampers Outside

Your claims of being denied care is baseless. This case is about improving care, you silly.

          4. Clampers Outside

Did you even follow the hearing?

The part where the judge was told that a ten year old, 10, met the Gillick Competence if they knew what an erection and an orgasm was….

            You’re defending that? Seriously?

          5. Nigel

I already told you, I can’t judge the legal proceedings. It’s the evil joy with which you seize on it to attack other trans people and use it to legislate against all trans kids everywhere.

          6. Clampers Outside

            “evil joy”… You’re ridiculous.

A young woman, who was just a girl was put on puberty blockers after just 3 1hr consultations.
She has bravely taken a case on lack of patient care which has left her with life long changes to her physiology and the likelihood of now being left sterile. She herself has expressed joy and thanks for the support she has received. And in reciprocation persons like myself have shared that expression in acknowledgement of her personal bravery.

You can label that however you wish.

          7. Nigel

‘Child experimentation is going to come to an end.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it TRAs!
All those on here who spoke up about this fair dues, all those who labelled those who spoke up as transphobes can go suck an egg.’

Yeah, you’re not using this as a platform to limit and control health care from young trans people at all.

          8. Clampers Outside

Nope. I’m using it as a ‘platform’ as you call it, to take solace in the fa t that regardless of TRA activist pseudo science and lies, there is now hope for proper care going forward.

You keep trying to make this about me and avoiding the facts. Why…. I wonder. I think it is because you cannot bring yourself to see past the trans activist ideological stand point and see, and admit, there has been abuse carried out. Shameful.

          9. Clampers Outside

“The Endocrine Society found that 75-80% of children who were diagnosed with gender dysphoria before they reached puberty did not have the condition after puberty.

“Therefore, endocrine treatment is not recommended until after puberty, when a diagnosis of gender dysphoria can be confirmed.”

Information like that above is ignored when Tavistock / GIDS were found to be taking an “affirmation” approach too treating gender dysphoria. That is what you support, and it is nothing short of shameful in light of the facts.

            https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-40033028.html

          10. Clampers Outside

            You’re the savage Nigel.

I’m advocating for their proper care which is the opposite of what you are doing.

          11. Nigel

If you were doing that you wouldn’t be demonising trans people, trans rights, and scaremongering about young trans people, acting as if having gender dysphoria is akin to having the plague, acting as if the treatment were were some horrific torture and essentiallty a moral failing, a seduction of the innocent.

          12. Clampers Outside

I’ve not done any of those things.

Point to where I have other than your delusioned sick imagination.

All you have done here is continually ignore the facts and make these stupid statements…. Its pathetic.

    1. Junkface

Yes! I love Brian Blessed. You can still watch him host a HIGNFY episode on youtube. So funny

      1. Charger Salmons

Not often you read HIGNFY and funny in the same sentence these days.
And the last time Nish Kunar made anyone laugh was when he had to duck to avoid a flying bread roll from a bored audience member.
        BBC comedy is execrable.

        1. Junkface

The episode I’m talking about is 12 years old or something. Panel shows during covid 19 with video screens are a terrible idea

        2. Brother Barnabas

          “BBC comedy is execrable”

there are a lot of things you could throw at the BBC – being a little anti-boris, for instance- but not that

          at all

          1. Charger Salmons

You’ve obviously never watched The Mash Report with the aforementioned Nish Kumar.
            I’ve seen funnier unflushed toilets.
Car Share. Now that was wonderful.
            Inside No. 9 ? Sublime.
But cutting-edge, satirical comedy which the BBC once excelled at ? Washed away by a sea of ” Isn’t Brexit and Boris terrible ” mediocrity.

    Numbers are in:

any info on what actually caused these people to be admitted to hospital and ICU? Were they admitted for heart disease or cancer or similar? Would you happen to have the age profile at least?

‘ Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland and Vice-President of Sinn Féin Michelle O’Neill MLA (Mid Ulster) is self isolating after a family member has tested positive for Covid-19. ‘

I wish her and the family member the best of luck.

You see, easy isn’t it ?

  10. Charger Salmons

There is the occasional funny side to Covid-19 if you’re English.
Scots suffered under less freedom than the English throughout the summer in a vain attempt to reach ‘zero Covid’.
They missed out on pubs, restaurants, and socialising with loved ones for far longer than England.
And First Minister Nicola Sturgeon even warned of a border being put up to stop infected English people travelling north.
Now Scotland has the worst Covid-19 figures of any region in the UK.
Worst of both worlds. What a failure.
    But still, Scotland eh ?

Trump Administration Backs Great Barrington Declaration

In a big boost to the anti-lockdown movement, one of President Donald Trump’s key advisers on coronavirus, Professor Scott Atlas, tweeted yesterday that Trump’s policies align with the anti-lockdown Great Barrington Declaration.

The federal system in America means most public health policy sits with the states and lower tiers of government so Trump is limited in what he can change. Nonetheless, to have the leader of the free world, according to one of his closest advisers, standing with anti-lockdown science and policymaking can only help to turn things around.
