Meanwhile…

Saw “Elvis the movie” there in 1979, all the kids up dancing in the aisles, fun times.

The big Jap maybe a Datsun Laurel?
They were dripping with chrome but like so many jap cars of the time, they were a martyr to the tinworm

Cars so much smaller then, so much more room
Mind you, the traffic wasn’t always great – not really the golden days oft portrayed by the media.

There is now parking, 6 lanes and a cycle lane across that stretch. So each lane is narrower.

      1x parking
      1x bus lane
      2x to city lanes
      2x from city lanes
      1x bus lane
      1x cycle lane

That cinema is still in situ and was/is used for private showings for a film company. It’s been a while now, but I attended a cast and crew showing back in 2008 there.
