Many years ago meself and my older brothers went knocking doors with that exact phrase ‘Help the Halloween party’
This ol wan answered the door and we all said it together, the ol wan then answered with, “ what party?, where’s it on?, I didn’t hear of any party,
I haven’t got an invite!!
Needless too say we left empty handed with her still asking about the party!
Ah good times.

Woulfe meeting Clarke today.
But sure didn’t Woulfe say he checked with Clarke in advance? If he did, and Clarke said there was no problem, then this meeting today is futile.
Remember, Woulfe is a Fine Gael activist and was appointed AG on the nomination of Varadkar. once that term was up, the same was done for Woulfe to the Supreme Court. I wonder why.
Varadkar sure has the midas touch.
The Fine Gael attitude certainly showed itself during Woulfe’s meetings with Denham.

Trump is right, of course.
He’s been saying for months what the WHO has now decided – that lockdowns shouldn’t be the primary weapon in fighting Covid-19.
Here’s a graph comparing C-19 deaths in the UK in the past six weeks compared to six weeks in March during the first lockdown.
Is there a similar picture in Ireland ? https://mobile.twitter.com/reload14523749/status/1315354073265299459/photo/1

The reality is have a 1 in 500 chance of being killed by Covid, should I catch it.
My kids have a 1 in 3,000 chance of being killed by Covid, should they catch it.
My elderly relatives have a 1 in 10 chance of being killed by Covid, should they catch it.
Resources and anti-Covid measures should be targeted where they’re needed most and not across the entire community.
Papi
Being extremely optimistic with the 500/1 there, fatso.
Charger Salmons
Obviously you’re in the 1 in 3000 category although I understand the odds are not quite as great for retarded juveniles.
…don’t you feel a responsibility to your kids and elderly relatives to further reduce the risk of being killed by Covid by taking precautions to avoid catching it in the first place?
Charger Salmons
I am already by social distancing, wearing a mask and frequently washing my hands as recommended at the outset of the pandemic.
Do I think another lockdown is the right way to go now ?
The WHO thinks not although to be fair they also thought masks were useless for a long time before changing their minds.
Papi
Social distancing is different for you, it’s a way of life as you know it.
Cian
There are about 12 million children in the UK; if all of them get Covid and 1 in3,000 die that is 4,000 dead kids.
Charger Salmons
And if all my numbers come up I’ll win the Lottery.
In both cases the chances of that happening are remote.
Are you proposing that everyone hides in their homes until a vaccine is found ?
Micko
I think you’re off on your figures there Charger
I think the chances of anyone dying are way over exaggerated.
The WHO a couple of weeks back said that 750 million are estimated to have been infected worldwide.
That’s an increase by a factor of 20 on the actual cases.
Extrapolated to the Irish numbers that means we’ve an estimated 800k cases in Ireland. Even if not, it means the mortality rate is WAY down.
It’s certainly an improbable science as we discovered with the early predictions of fatalities which were off the scale.
I’ve had my annual flu jab and have taken top strength Zinc and Vitamin D tabs for months.
Other than that and frequent hand san and masking there’s not a lot more a chap can do.
My philosophy in life is that God always looks after fools and drunks so on that score I’ve got all bases covered.
Charlie
You’d be willing to sacrifice your parents, aunts and uncles given the odds of 1 in 10? You ol’ charmer.

Mate, I come from a long line of pragmatists.

Unfortunately, both pragmatism and stoicism are both characteristics in very short supply nowadays.

Yea, sure you do. Do your relatives know you crap yourself at the lack or whiff of internet attention? Do they even care?

Interesting too that the two eminem’t judges are meeting today under the cover of the Budget to try avoid media attention.
One of those Judges rang in sick last week and had it postponed until today
the other one has been trying to sit the other fella down for the last week or so
Careful now

Interesting development in the US regarding Covid-19. Apparently reinfection can occur?
Speaking of Brexit the number of people applying for the UK’s Tech Nation visa — which allows individuals to work in the country’s digital technology sector — was at its highest level in September since the system was launched in 2014.
Applications have risen by 8% compared to last year. The top country applicants came from was India, and most were from backgrounds in software development, cloud computing and artificial intelligence…
Stephen Kelly, chair of Tech Nation said a quarter of those who receive the visa are company founders: “These individuals are setting up businesses across the UK, bringing capital and jobs that are fuelling our economic growth”.
-morning Brian, some way to pay the bills, doesn’t look like a happy ending here.
“The Anglo/IBRC portion of the loans went to New York-based private equity firm Apollo, which is advised in this country by former Bank of Ireland boss Brian Goggin.”
“New reports suggest that Apollo CEO Leon Black may have funneled as much as $75 million to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein before supposedly cutting ties in 2018.”
