    Great news.
Mehole finally got to speak to the President-Elect.
Okay, so he was put on hold for a while as Joe said he had an important ‘phone call to take from Burkina Faso.
    But all is good.
And yes, Biden confirmed that the US-Ireland special relationship was still cosy and he’ll be available to receive the pot plant on the next Paddy’s Day.
He asked the Taoiseach to also bring over a few bags of Taytos and some cans of Cidona so they can celebrate his Irish heritage in the big house.
And even though there’s no commercial flights out of Shannon at the moment ‘ would the bogs still be open for the lads on the re-fuelling flights desperate for a pee and also Duty Free if possible because you can’t get the giant Toblerones back home in the States ‘
Mehole did a little jig thing in his office and said to his aides ” who’s the kiddie boy now ” before celebrating with a bit of scran in the form of tripe and drisheen and a pint of milk.
    Movers and shakers, eh ?

    1. Brother Barnabas

I wonder what joe and boris talked about:

“A Biden insider reacted to No 10’s message of congratulation with disdain. “This shapeshifting creep weighs in,” Vietor tweeted. “We will never forget your racist comments about Obama and slavish devotion to Trump but neat Instagram graphic.”

      “shapeshifting creep”… heh heh heh × 52

      1. Charger Salmons

You’re a day late and a dollar short old bean.
This anonymous quote was already posted on here on Monday.
And overtaken by events as Boris became the first European leader to talk to the President-Elect.
Do try to keep up Sleepy Bro.

        Heh x zzzzzzzzzzzzz

          1. Brother Barnabas

well whatever about your “REAL insider”, let’s see what joe himself has to say:

“Boris Johnson is the physical and emotional clone of Donald Trump – and that’s not a good thing”

hardly surprising that he’s not all that fond of johnson given the Slater’s childish and insulting claim that obama harboured anti-British sentiment due to him being a kenyan

some serious manoeuvres needed now to turn things round – not off to a great start issuing a tweet of congratulations intended for trump and clumsily altered to shoe-horn in the name of Biden instead

            like, ouch

          2. Charger Salmons

            Poor Brother.
The whiff of desperation is overpowering today.
Reports say they discussed the close and longstanding relationship between their two countries in a warm and cordial 25-minute chinwag.
Boris invited Biden to the COP26 summit next year
They also looked forward to seeing each other in person, including when the UK hosts the G7 Summit in 2021.
Apparently in his chat with Biden Mehole reprised his party piece of an impression of Father Jack Hackett and invited Joe ” for a few aul’ scoops and a doner from his local chipper if he’s ever passing over this way ”
After a couple of minutes of Mehole’s mindless blather Joe was saved by a pre-arranged call on his mobile from his Secret Service agents.

          3. Papi

Charger wrapped fully in the butchers apron this morning, like they would claim him.
            Marvelous.

Keep explaining there chum, and get up off your knees.

        1. Rosette of Sirius

As discussed earlier. Boris got the first call to have manners put on him. He’s on notice. ‘Fork with the GFA at your peril’, he was told. Don’t think for one moment that’s not lost on the rest of us. Ireland gets the second call from its new favorite uncle. That’s certainly not lost on Boris, and Macron and Merkel for that matter.

If the rumours about penny pinched Boris jacking it in are to believed, he’ll jack before inauguration I reckon.

    2. Charlie

Ring ring, ring ring, ring ring….

      Boris: Gggooood morning Mr Ppppresident
      Biden: Mooning Asshat!
      Boris: Cccconngggratulatiions
Biden: Sure. Dude, you mess the Good Friday agreement and you’re in even bigger poo than you are already. That clear birdbrain!?
      *phone line goes dead*
      Boris: Hhhhelloooo! I sssay hhheloooo….

        1. Otis Blue

Surely he knows he’s a lame duck career-wise so it has to be about the deal. I wonder how they’ll spin it, he being close to FG ‘n all.

          1. V aka Frilly Keane

            No spin

He’ll make a brief announcement – through the Courts office, but surrounded by some of the Judges, make it look like he is doing the honourable thing and he has their respects ತ_ʖತ
            Sorta thing

            I reckon anyway

    1. GiggidyGoo

Beaten by Charger. By a minute. Oh the shame of it.
Has the FG wolf pack turned against one of their own? My oh my.
After the comedy show last night, nothing would surprise me. Red-faced and embarrassed, Coveney kicked off the FG part of proceedings. Not what he wanted to to, but was told to. Followed by Heather Humphreys, almost crying and rushing her speech to get as many SF references in as possible. And Eamon Ryan somehow brought climate change into his reasoning for supporting illegality. Not many greenies in attendance.

Job done though. Varadkar shown up to be untrustworthy. Notions of international political grandeur firmly in the gutter. Leo la Fuite as he’s now known in Strasbourg and Brussels.

        1. Charger Salmons

Gotta make an early start when you’re single-handedly keeping the country going one shelf at a time …

          1. GiggidyGoo

Up after your bedtime last night then Walter? – drying out the carpet before the home-help arrives. They know, you know. All aware of what they’re dealing with. Full PPE required. It must be really getting to you that you don’t get away with the type of comment you’d like to make all the same. The PRC had you well sussed. At least now you’re famous. Just putting in ‘Charger Salmons’ into Google returns you at pole position. And what a result. Heh heh heh

          1. MME

Erm, what exact job allows you to stalk online fora day, morning, noon and night GiggidyGoo?! Guffaw.

Asking for a friend called Bobby Storey.

Yesterday you declared that while we are all sleeping- you “keep the country running”. I didn’t really think Shinnerbottage was that involved.

  2. Lilly

Nice boat in Cobh and all but check out the Granuaile docked in DunLaoghaire tonight. I got up close to the gangway but decided not to push my luck by venturing any further. Gorgeous ship!

  3. ReproBertie

I see the USPS “whistleblower” in Pennsylvania has withdrawn all all his claims about witnessing ballot tampering.

        1. ReproBertie

No need to worry deluded. Those reports from October were investigated and updated in November.

“The assumption that there are unaccounted ballots within the Postal Service network is inaccurate,” the USPS said, in light of the reports. “These ballots were delivered in advance of the election deadlines. We employed extraordinary measures to deliver ballots directly to local boards of elections. When this occurs, by design, these ballots bypass certain processing operations and do not receive a final scan. Instead, they are expedited directly to the boards of elections.”
US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan has ordered some sweeps of USPS facilities to check for any remaining ballots, not for large batches of missing ballots.

        1. italia'90

          That is very interesting.
Let me see if he has posted anything
to confirm or deny this press story.
Either way, you wouldn’t like to be a whistle-blower
in this world right now, would you?
See Maurice McCabe and Richard Sugarman and the many other examples.

        2. italia'90

          Hopkins appears to doubling down.
The USPS IG who’s voice you hear on that tape is very troubling.
He’s obviously trying to put the frighteners on him, wouldn’t you agree?
Seems to be more interested in managing the allegations than investigating them.
          Just my opinion.

      1. ReproBertie

Hilarious. The man changes his story depending on who he’s talking to. Sure to make a reliable witness.

          1. ReproBertie

As I said, hilarious. With flip floppers like this guy and the New Jersey sex offender at the heart of Trump’s legal challenges I can see why Trump supporters are so confident.

          2. SOQ

The videos above are his words, not a story in The Washington Post which never actually interviewed him.

He will face charges of perjury and jail if found to be lying- which is a huge risk for anyone to take.

          3. ReproBertie

The sworn affidavit he signed recanting the allegations were also his words. He’s doing a fine job of discrediting himself. I look forward to seeing how this plays out but there’s a difference between saying something on YouTube and saying something in court.

          4. Cian

Wow. They have a guy who *heard* another guy tell a supervisor that they were pre-dating ballot to commit election fraud.

  4. italia'90

    Oh Danny boy,
The cops, the cops will be calling you….

He cared too much (for other peoples money apparently.)
Expect El Leako to throw him under the bus too.
    Concannonbots be conning

  5. f_lawless

I’d say we’re set to enter a bit of a Twilight-zone from here on in regarding the vaccine. The Behavioural Insights experts will be using every trick in the book to nudge (or should I say shove?) everyone towards opting to get the vaccine. Expect lots of scripted messages from popular and respected celebrities urging us to do our part.

We all have an inherent drive to protect our ego -, to act and think in ways that make us feel better about ourselves. This will be exploited in that those who opt in will be praised for doing their bit to save lives, whereas those who resist will be labeled as selfish, sociopaths weak links etc. Any rises in Covid deaths will be blamed on the those who don’t get the vaccine. Apparently, on the Jeremy Vine’ radio show today in the UK, they had a discussion on whether those who refuse to get the vaccine should remain in self-isolation!

UK football fans are now being specifically targeted for the uptake of the vaccine and, of course, digital “health passports”:

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/11/09/vaccine-hope-fans-return-will-season-widely-available/amp/

Adding Covid-19 vaccine records to a digital health passport may fast-track the return of crowds to the Premier League next year..

The Premier League is close to agreeing a blueprint with the Government to add Covid-19 vaccine records to a digital health passport which may fast-track the return of crowds next year.”

We’ll let you have your entertainment back – but not without our conditions

    1. Brother Barnabas

      absolutely, f-lawless

it’ll be like the devious anti-smoking campaigns or those tricky sleight-of-handers trying to get us all to wear seatbelts or, worst of all, those underhanded pushes to dupe us into not driving while drunk

you should organise a protest, f_lawless

      1. Brother Barnabas

the real dishonesty is you and your “hey, I’m just asking questions” and “yeah, I might head up to the march out of curiosity, take a few photos maybe… yeah, as expected, just a family day out, lots of face-painting and happy kids”

stop lying for a start, f_lawless

        1. f_lawless

You’re telling me to “stop lying” while simultaneously inventing a quote that I never said – the second time you’ve done so in the space of a couple of days. Can you see the irony? When you’re willing to engage in a more rational form of debate, get back to me.

          1. bisted

…I’ve asked you several times f_lawless what motivates you to advocate quack remedies and not taking proven action to suppress this pandemic…thankfully, you are just a tiny minority…ultimately, it will be solidarity between the vast majority of us who put our trust in science…

          2. Brother Barnabas

a tiny minority that between them posts hundreds of comments every week on the issue – spouting lies and misinformation with the pretence that they’re nothing more than curious-minded young fellows asking some innocent questions

          3. Johnny

Says the absentee landlord from Spain who boats daily about his lifestyle funded off the backs hard working irish..what’s on the drinkypoo menu today..
            Oh right,now you’ve changed that lie/fairytale too,your not a landlord now but a renowned offshore stock picker,who only,only picks the winners…
            I coulda been a contender-yeah Bro sure.

          4. Brother Barnabas

            “changed that lie /fairytale too”

honestly, Johnny, I don’t know what you’re talking about – I never said I was a landlord. I’m not. never have been. and never claimed to be. you pulled it out of your cannabis-addled little mind. and now you’ve started believing it. sad really.

          5. Johnny

you now what’s really sad bro ?
            you.
encouraging that other self loathing drunk,to daily post bigoted, anti irish diatribes, comnpletly divorced from fact.
its closing time ladies,do you have no lives to live, the pair you,all day every day, one a brit who if he dared say half the things he does on here within, earshot of me or most irish would be picking himself off the floor.
but ah its a bit amusement for the old bored paddy living the dream in costa de looser, off the backs hard working irish while NOT paying irish tax, but tells us how it is daily…

          6. Brother Barnabas

inane ranting again now, johnny – are we getting close to the point where you implode in a tantrum and disappear for weeks? I havent even mentioned your upskirting teen girls so shouldnt be at that point yet. does your very prominent and important daddy know about that, by the way?

          7. johnny

..don’t they call you Mr LARGE at revenue,as they hold their collective breath every Nov for your irish tax,on passive rental income,mr non resident,do you need me copy another of your boastful posts, bragging about how much tax you pay on your irish rental income-ah it was all lies and BS.again.

          8. Brother Barnabas

yeah, johnny, I’d actually love to see the comment that led you to believe I have rental income; not a landlord, never been a landlord, never will be. waiting…

          9. Johnny

…like the irish revenue for that LARGE tax in November, now that you turned your back on your country, dont you think its time stop lecturing rest us poor paddy’s paying tax and trying make the place better-from your life of boozing and leisure in costa de loser-ask your obnoxious fake brit mate dial back the bigotry and anti irish comments-its highly offensive.
don’t you have mocktails to make bro…..

          10. Charger Salmons

Loath as I am to be associated in any way with the scoundrel I have to be honest and say I’ve never read of Brother being a landlord.
There are many other idle boasts he makes, particularly in the trouser department, but providing a warm welcome and a roof over the head for some of Ireland’s many unfortunate people unable to own their homes is not one of them.
Moreover, the idea that being a landlord is somehow a reprehensible occupation is beyond me.
I doubt our Lord Jesus was able to afford a 5 x income tracker mortgage on his meagre income but the Bible only records cash moneylenders being cast out of the Temple and not owners of For Rent 2bd,1bth BER E2 des res no dsp close to station properties.

  6. V aka Frilly Keane

Have to say this collective raging horn for Vaccines for Christmas is starting to actually scare me

    Normally I’d play along
Call out the political and corporate corruption
Highlight financial mismanagement while driving on the incompetence until it causes fumes
Maybe make a joke and have a laugh at it here and there
And admit to begrudging their gigs, pay perks and pensions
But add some caution about borrowing with no end game to pay it back

    But lads
This is a whole new game altogether

Am I wrong to suggest this is now all out of our hands entirely

    1. GiggidyGoo

One thing for sure V – I won’t be taking a concoction that has been rushed in development and pushed by the MSM unapologetically.

      1. Charger Salmons

Yeah, why take any notice of the combined efforts of some of the world’s greatest scientists and drug companies to find a vaccine for C-19 when there’s some knucklehead on the internet with a hunch ?

        1. GiggidyGoo

Sure work away yourself and let us know how you get on. Funny you should be now supporting the efforts of worlds scientists (list them), yet discount other world scientists that SOQ quoted over the past while.

You must have a hunch about them working for the greater good, and not at all interested in dosh.

          1. millie

Gigs, that’s an absolutely ridiculous comment.

List all these scientists? What exactly does that prove? Nothing, unless you’re counting the pissing contest that goes on here daily.

And also, are you implying that salmons here has some sort of monetary interest in a vaccine? Because frankly, you do him too much credit. He is, sadly, not actually Dr. Evil, though he does a fine impression I’m told.

          2. Brother Barnabas

            +1

small cohort here have morphed into subtle but dangerous and dishonest antivaxxers- and enjoying free reign to spout their rubbish unchallenged on these pages

          3. Charger Salmons

You think drug companies should develop world-beating and life-saving vaccines and drugs while employing thousands of people in Ireland and paying billions in taxes here and NOT make a profit ?
Stick to spillages in aisle three.

          4. ReproBertie

The vaccine is a total scam. If I remember correctly, the only diagnoses required is holding a deep breath and the only cure needed is to drink hot water which will wash the virus into the stomach where stomach acid will kill it. Of course this information is being suppressed because neither of these things cost money so big pharma can’t make a profit on it.

          5. GiggidyGoo

            Millie. he said:

-” some of the worlds greatest scientists”. The list can’t be that long who are involved in the production of this. A list of the ‘some’ shouldn’t be too hard to do.

            – I wouldn’t imply that Charger has a monetary interest in anything to be honest. I was implying that he is skipping over the reasons for the very quick reporting of this (seeing as none of these companies have got the go-ahead from the likes of the FDA).

          6. Brother Barnabas

“skipping over the reasons for the very quick reporting of this”

really, goo? you can’t think why this might be hot news ?

          7. GiggidyGoo

            @BB. I’m not anti-vax. Tough tootle-pants.
I am however anti a vaccine that has not been properly tested

Yourself and Walter Mitty can queue up for as many doses as you like. If you stand close enough, an inhalation of Charger should be enough to kill off out the dreaded covid, along with hoose and mange mite. – sure he’s immune to all sorts given the state of his squalid, damp, infested bedsit.

          8. Junkface

On German news they had pretty solid interviews with the science teams involved in the vaccine, from Biontech (they worked with Pfizer). They explained that all precautions and safety measures were carefully observed and that no shortcuts were taken. Just huge investment in research, man hours and equipment. I would be happy to take this vaccine too as its 90% effective and has no reported side effects so far.

Opinions from MSM has no effect on vaccine production. Silly to suggest so.

          9. Micko

People calling others here antivaxxers for asking questions about a vaccine that has never seen mass public use and is the quickest ever developed is hilarious.

Absolutely, call out idiot antivaxxers where it is appropriate, like those who claim MMR, polio vax are dangerous. They are the really dangerous groups. Focus on them.

But calling Giggidy an antivaxxer for having questions about a vaccine that you DIDN’T EVEN KNOW EXISTED three effin days ago – we’ll that’s just really funny to me.

          10. SOQ

But that is the conformity game now isn’t it Mick?

Any critical thoughts about being bounced into a vaccine developed using a technology never tried before and developed at breakneck speed must be completely anti vaxx. It is at best, disingenuous.

See my link to George Hook’s video below- he makes some very interesting observations about Tony Holohan’s involvement with not just the cervical check scandal but also, the swine flu vaccine.

          11. GiggidyGoo

            @BB. Hot news?
Hot ‘press release’ you mean, which was my point.

I prefer to wait, if you don’t mind, for at least 12 months, to see the actual results. Pfizer are looking for Emergency Authorisation, which should sound alarm bells, but developers looking for exemption from civil liability should sound a lot louder.
            https://www.ft.com/content/12f7da5b-92c8-4050-bcea-e726b75eef4d

So, work away. You do your thing, I’ll do mine.

Where, by the way, will we in Ireland store this vaccine at minus 80 degrees C? I know of just two cryogenic storage facilities, both of which are at capacity with the storage of medical specimens and sperm.

          12. bisted

…who knew that the holy grail of herd immunity would be achieved by us anti-sickness people…sorry…no purge this time…but don’t worry, we’ll look after you…and there’s bound to be another bandwagon along soon…

          13. SOQ

300 000 cancer checks missed in the first six months of this year alone Bisted- now who is anti sickness again?

Where is the modelling and fatality projections of those people eh? It is absolute ticking time bomb.

          14. bisted

…I do agree with you about ticking time bombs…only time will tell the long term affects of measures taken now as a result of this pandemic…I fear there may be consequences that have yet to be seen…

          15. Charger Salmons

Of course Blighty signed its Pfizer deal for 30 million doses of the vaccine back in July when its effectiveness wasn’t known.
One presumes the terms of that deal were far more favourable than the one the EU has only just signed with the company when it’s now known that the vaccine has a 90% successs rate.
Of course when you’re only negotiating for one country it’s a lot easier to be fast on your feet.
            An early Brexit success.
            Kerching !

          16. SOQ

Neither the effectiveness nor side effects are known bugle boy- but you do seem happy to step you fellow country men and women up to be guinea pigs?

      2. Micko

Not a problem Giggidy , sure we’ll be using our elderly as Guinea pigs again anyway as they will be getting it first. Testing it for us to make sure it’s safe.

        Wait… sorry… wrong meeting.

        ;)

        1. GiggidyGoo

Yep – the first ones that will receive it according to the BBC
“The UK is likely to prioritise older resident in care homes and the people that work there.”

          1. SOQ

And that is the irony- older people are the least likely to develop an vaccine immune response because their immunity is so weak in the first place.

          2. Junkface

Worldwide trials from major Biotech companies would have taken this into account of course. They do have serious rules and regulations. If its primary intended use is for seniors and medical staff, then they would prepare thoroughly for this.

          3. Junkface

            Yes Giddygoo,
Their intention is to take shortcuts, rush a vaccine, get paid big time, and then when elderly or people with pre-existing conditions die, they can wash their hands of any responsibility because of a clause in their contracts. Job done. Next!

We all know this is standard practice for scientists working closely with the medical profession. Jesus F-ing Christ!

You do realise that this will be one of the most scientifically scrutinised discoveries of recent memory? Other teams of scientists worldwide will be checking every single step of its process and safety parameters.

          4. SOQ

            @Junkface

Pfizer’s CEO cashed out 60% of his stock on the same day the company unveiled the results of its COVID-19 vaccine trial

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla sold 62% of his stock on the same day the company announced its experimental COVID-19 vaccine succeeded in clinical trials.
The announcement sent Pfizer’s shares soaring almost 15% on the day.

            https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/pfizer-ceo-sold-stock-day-covid-19-vaccine-results-unveiled-2020-11-1029790705

Still think it is all ethical and above board then? Almighty coincidence if so.

          5. Junkface

Of course the biotech companies involved with finding a successful vaccine, had their market shares soar. That’s business, that’s why people invest in these companies. I don’t know why the CEO cashed out on 60% of his stock, if that’s true, but why would that effect the competence of their scientists work on the vaccine? Business matters are separated from scientific matters.

I’m glad I have some faith in modern science and vaccines, I know people who work in similar fields. Science is self correcting, constantly examined, constantly updated.
My brain has not been warped by social media into some sort of nihilism, mistrust and constant search for conspiracies around every corner. Not healthy.

LBC radio have a good segment on right now with James O’Brien about people who have relatives that have been affected badly by anti-vaxx nonsense and conspiracies online. Maybe some of you should listen to this?

          7. Cian

[Pfizer CEO] Bourla sold $5.6 million in stock on Monday as part of a predetermined trading plan adopted August 19.

“The breakthrough came in early November, after an interim analysis showed their vaccine candidate to be 90% effective in protecting people from transmission of the virus in global trials, better than most experts had hoped for.”

From interview with one of the lead BioNTech scientists:

“Asked whether when he would take the vaccine himself, Şahin told German news website Business Insider: “As soon as the vaccine has been permitted, I will be one of the first to do it. But first we have to make sure that the vaccine arrives with those people who need it urgently: especially the elderly, people with pre-existing conditions and medical staff.”

          1. GiggidyGoo

“….I will be one of the first to do it. But first we have to make sure that the vaccine arrives with those people who need it urgently

Ah yes – He’ll be ‘one of the first’ – after it’s been administered to the elderly. Brave fellow.

            Shouldn’t he be ‘the first’?

      For the Record

I’m not anti vax nor do I think 5G is making me randy
but I have listened to reasonable discussion on vaccines
      well from one person

Yet I trust the science, and will make sure it is a licenced, practicing, professional, with full PI cover, and the batch number is legit, and not past its best before, or recalled
that hits me and the teenager up
Because if it goes wrong I can sue

What I am getting spooked about is the Corporate Interests driving all this
      not the medicine

Because I know those ::ckers more and better than I know science,
      and most other stuff tbh
i know exactly how they make their decisions
      and why

Feck sake I didn’t even do Science for the inter

But believe me -This race for a Vaccine was the most watched sporting event the world has ever witnessed, and for me, it put the spotlight on Corporate Control, Corporate Reach, Corporate Resourses, and Corporate Special Interests, – the very special kind that nobody is supposed to know about

and of course there’s the getting on the Telly and selling off a company and getting to plug a new book too stuff

But behind it all is Corporate Decision making, not Medical Research to save mankind

      and btw,
If they needed another few years to get this into us, pretty sure things would be looking very different over in ‘Merkica

        +100%
Will we be pressurised into taking a 2 shot vaccine
for a virus that is not life threatening to approximately 99%
        of the population?
I was listening to Luke O’Neill yesterday, does he ever stop bullsh*tting?

        1. v AKA Frilly Keane

          loves himself
he’d lick himself if he could

I’m certain as a Scientist and a Teacher, he’s top notch
and in the early days was easy listening – and made a lot of people easier about what’s ahead
rather than the blunt scaremongering from the Civil Service medics

In fairness, he’s successful at what he does,
Made a lot of money, for himself and his College labs / Dept
          He can walk his talk

I won’t deny there were 100s of labs, the best labs in World all working on this vaccine, all well resourced with the best of best engaged
So one of them was bound to crack it

Still, this all I want for Christmas is a Vaccine
          F’ing Stinks

It’s like nobody is learning any lessons here in Ireland from the ViraPro malarkey!

In the early days he was one of the talking scientific heads
wheeled out on Irish radio that predicted 20,000 virus deaths in Ireland?
Colm Henry predicted 29,000 deaths on Matt Coopers show the week
the schools closed down in March.
Holohan told the nursing homes not to lockdown and open up to public visitors again. That was criminal.
Forgive me for becoming a little bit sceptical about all things Covid related spouted by these experts.

Keep washing your hands and remain socially distant when you can.
It seems to me that wearing a mask has made people immune to the 2 previously
mentioned Good hygiene habits. Anyone else noticed that too?

          2. v AKA Frilly Keane

Think t’was McConkey that was going mad althogher with the numbers

open to correction but Luke was pretty laid back ish
            but shur
he’s set for life anyway, now matter who found the vaccine big pharma were gasping for first

Yeah, that Holohan backtrack still rankles with me too

I used it as an example there recently about the schools
I was certain he was going to backtrack there as well

the f’ing whole thing was a shambles

“Be proud of your sacrifice” ses Waity Katie, who sacrificed her dignity for a few shiny baubles.

        1. millie

So all the more reason to be catty and cutting of another woman? Because she married a prince and he cheated on her? That’s nasty.

          1. Daisy Chainsaw

She’ll stick by him to get a better title than the one she has, enduring the shagging around and the humiliation as she has done for the last 20 odd years.

    1. millie

Christ, Daisy, what did she ever do to you?

I’m no fan of the royals (unless it’s a well made Netflix drama, obvs) but she’s far from the worst. She knows her role and performs it well. The kids are cute too.

Clients that had been reviewing their allocation of legal work with Jones Day,included Coca Cola and CBC.

Last night’s whiskey cocktail was more of a concoction.
Hot whiskey, drinking chocolate and whipped cream with some drizzled honey.
Not as nice as it sounds.
Tonight I’m going for a straightforward Old Fashioned.
Still willing to try any recipes from my loyal readers.

      1. Charger Salmons

        It was.
However Lady Charger was in the mood for something sweet.
Mind you the Kevin Dundon Apricot Christmas fruitcake was historic.

        1. Brother Barnabas

          that’s just the supermarket stuff

have you tried Metaxa Ouzo? sublime – masticha and fennel in a perfect balance

order a bottle now and thank me later

          1. Charger Salmons

Good lord, I hope it’s nothing like Metaxa Brandy.
Although to be fair I do drink a lot of ouzo when I’m at my regular ouzeri in Nafplio.

Despite the support for blatent sleaze and the execrable Leo Varadkar by FFFGGP there’s always an upside.
Michael Martin is now a busted flush held in withering contempt by his own party by his support and inaction over the issue. FF support continues to drain away like water flushing down the toilet bowl.

Eamon Ryan has drowned the Greenwash party beneath the FG cesspool for what, bicycle lanes? He has personally fed his membership weedkiller. Their hypocrisy and support for FG sleaze and corruption will be rewarded by electoral elimination.

Leo Varadkar’s political ambitions have been holed beneath the waterline, he will lose friends and now lives in a world where he will be continuously watching his back for the knives both inside and outside of politics. FG are seriously damaged and held in contempt by anyone with a shred of decency. All can see this fetid government is a stinking pile of manure and a day of reckoning is coming for them. Roll on the next election.

    1. GiggidyGoo

Varadkar is Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment. Not one union will believe confidentiality and Varadkar in the same sentence.

“Varadkar la Fuite” is the buzzword around the European Parliament at the moment.

      It’s over for him.

  11. Toby

In other news today is Poppy Day where insufferable Brits will try and paper over their ruthless empirical history by telling us all we have a duty to remember those who died in WW1.

And Irish people, in some kind of Stockholm syndrome move, will agree.

    1. johnny

nah most irish ignore the stupid ladyparts, including the fat bigoted loser on here with his daily drink obsession,i mean c’mon what gentleman or real man of leisure mixes/makes his own..

        1. Brother Barnabas

charger, are you aware that Johnny attended a “very prestigious school” or that he has a “very very important daddy” as he stated recently? because it doesnt seem to me that you’re affording him the admiration and respect he thinks he’s due? kindly rethink

          1. Charger Salmons

My goodness, how could I forget.
Isn’t he something of an O’Driscoll on the rugger pitch too ?
