This morning.

Via The Guardian:

About half of all Republicans believe President Donald Trump “rightfully won” the US election but that it was stolen from him by widespread voter fraud that favored Democratic President-elect Joe Biden, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.

Asked why, Republicans were much more concerned than others that state vote counters had tipped the result toward Biden: 68% of Republicans said they were concerned that the election was “rigged”, while only 16% of Democrats and one-third of independents were similarly worried.

Chris Krebs was fired last night as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

In recent days, Krebs has repeatedly pushed back against false claims that the election was tainted. Earlier on Tuesday, he tweeted a report citing 59 election security experts saying there is no credible evidence of computer fraud in the 2020 election outcome.

Trump fired back on Twitter later in the day. He repeated unsubstantiated claims about the vote and wrote: “Effective immediately, Chris Krebs has been terminated as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.”

Last night.

Sky News Australia.

Sky News host Alan Jones said he suspects the Trump team is in the process of gathering “irrefutable evidence of criminal collusion” in the fallout of the US election.

He said under an Executive Order of 2018, signed by US President Trump, the government has the power to arrest and seize the assets of any organisation or individual who attempted to alter the result of the 2020 election.

Mr Jones said.

“This Trump Executive Order about rigging elections, which he signed into existence on September 12, 2018, means clearly that the net can be cast very wide,”

Yesterday, US attorney Sidney Powell, who is part of Donald Trump’s legal team said, “this is a massive election fraud” and that she was very concerned it involved “Dominion and its Smartmatic software” used to count votes in the US election.

The judge at yesterday’s hearing at end, recommended some local sights and restaurants to Rudy.
Told him make most his short stay, evidence hearing Thursday looking highly unlikely.
Krebs is senate appointed and confirmed, only Trump can fire him,his second in command resigned, but his 3 he appointed himself to stymie a political hack.
He’s a gentleman and a patriot, who served his country with honor.

The Republicans have no problem undermining democracy. They have ruined trust and confidence in elections by playing along with Trumps games. America is approaching civil war levels of division with over 300 million guns, and many militias. There is a large percentage of republican voters who are fairly dumb, naive and lacking critical thinking. Following the words of the world’s most successful conman is a sure sign of that.

    Half of all republicans ?
    Let’s be generous,republicans 50% pop-so less than 25% yanks are illiterate,ignorant white trailer trash,seems right.

I think the Republicans account for about 29% of the registered electorate, so less than 15% really.

Not sure how many independents think similarly on the issue so might be higher than that? But not by much I’d imagine?

With people now indoors in dry hot air where viruses thrive, even that number is soft, the bodies are piling up here.
There simply is no buy in,outside the far right, white trash low intelligence eco system, its the same voting system that elected all those republican senators….but, but he was robbed…on same ticket!

While most of Trump’s support is non-college educated – and that is not the same thing as stupid – they are financially well-off.

            It’s that Jesuit education Nigel,semantics.
“I should have said this was a clownish undertaking instead of calling him a clown,” Biden told NBC’s Lester Holt in Miami.”
            The circus is leaving town,finally.

“Huuuge things going to come out in the next few days. Going to flip everything. This is not over yet.” **

(**Repeat with gusto every two days until Jan 20th and beyond.)

Nothing abut the Wayne County certification drama? Conspiracy-driven, anti-democratic AND racist, it had it all, including a classic bit of Trump-tweet timing.

Oh, and nothing about the US army seizing servers in Germany that prove Trump won by a landslide? Why is the MSM ignoring this explosive story?

    1. SB

What sort of jurisdiction would the U.S. Army have anyway to be able to seize property in another country? Ridiculous. Typical Americans believing they have to power to go anywhere and do whatever they like

“When US district judge Matthew Brann pressed Mr Giuliani to explain why none of the specific legal claims in the suit were based on voter fraud, the former New York mayor admitted the campaign wasn’t pleading voter fraud at all.”

“As the federal case was under way, the Pennsylvania supreme court ruled that Republican poll observers weren’t entitled to stand within a certain distance to observe the counting of ballots, overturning an earlier ruling in favour of Mr Trump that was one of his few court wins.”

I presume this is all part of the plan.

Most secure election in US history. It just gave Trump a result he didn’t like so he’s having a tantrum and sacking those who disagree.

      1. newsjustin

Trump is so incoherent and devoutly narcissistic that, a few days ago, he was welcoming the report that said the election was “the most secure election in US history” while in the very same tweet saying “except for the Democrat fraud.”

He had to bask in a positive message, he couldn’t contradict it. While at the same time, he had to contradict it.

It is an extraordinary scandal that such a mentally unstable person with crippling behavioral deficits made it to the Presidency and, more scandalously, that he is being enabled by people who really should no better, to poo all over US institutions as he’s being every so gently (to spare his feelings) escorted to the exit lobby.

        1. Junkface

Also up until Trump. American presidents have operated on an honor code / gentlemen’s agreement. After Trump, presidential operations and behaviors will have to be written into law, including nepotism with regards to your own cabinet. There can be no gray areas anymore.

  7. SOQ

I did see something about that state of emergency order Trump signed in on the QT- that authorities had additional powers to monitor the results as they came in.

Scytl who provided the servers in Spain were bought by the Paragon Group- I have read that they are Irish- can anyone confirm this?

If only I had access to the mailing list of Donald trump supporters sending money. I have a couple of London bridges to sell them.

  9. Nigel

They want to completely nullify the election in Nevada, and one of the reasons given is that Democratic outreach to Native Americans was effectively a plot to overturn the election. Ray-cist.

      1. Nigel

I think so? Native Americans, who have no reason to love either party, LOATHE Trump. Some rode on horses for half a day to vote against him.

        1. ian-oh

I take it the continuous ‘Pocahontas’ references to Warren didn’t ignite their MAGA fervour then?

But yeah, I’d have no love for either if I was a native. I worked with a native American in the 90s in Phoenix, didn’t get into politics too much but he had a real issue with Reagan yet was fairly sanguine about Bush Snr & Clinton which I found curious?

          Never did ask why though.
