From top: The US Election as called by Associated Press and other news outlets; Deadlines for election counts in disputed states.

This morning.

A state by state guide and deadlines for the final counts in the US Presidential Election.

Via Reuters:

Arizona:

The case: The Arizona Republican Party is trying to block the certification of the election results in the state’s most populous county, Maricopa, until the court rules on the party’s lawsuit asking for a new hand count of a sampling of ballots. An audit already completed by the county found no discrepancies, officials said.
What happened: The judge has not issued a decision. A hearing in the case is scheduled for Wednesday.

Georgia:

The case: A high-profile conservative attorney, L. Lin Wood Jr., has sued in an attempt to block the certification of election results in Georgia. Wood alleges Georgia illegally changed the process for handling absentee ballots. Georgia’s deputy secretary of state has called Wood’s case a “silly, baseless claim.”
What happened: A judge has scheduled a hearing for Thursday to consider a request for a temporary restraining order to halt certification.

Michigan:

The case: Trump’s campaign is trying to block the certification of election results in the state, alleging that election officials “allowed fraud and incompetence to corrupt the conduct of the 2020 general election.” Trump’s legal team alleges that their observers were prevented from being able to properly watch the vote counting, that ineligible ballots were counted and that Republican challenges to ballots were ignored. Another lawsuit filed this week on behalf of two poll challengers asks a court to halt the certification of election results until an independent audit is completed to “ensure the accuracy and integrity of the election.”
What happened: There have been no decisions in either case. Judges have already swatted down several other Republican efforts to block certification in the Detroit area. Wayne County, which is home to Detroit, unanimously certified its election results on Tuesday, hours after Republicans first blocked formal approval of voters’ intentions – although they appear now to be rowing back on that.

Nevada:

The case: Trump’s campaign is asking a judge to nullify Nevada’s election results or set them aside and declare him the winner, arguing that illegal or improper votes were cast and the use of optical scanning to process signatures on mail-in ballots violated state law. The Trump lawsuit, filed Tuesday, rehashes arguments that judges in Nevada and elsewhere have already rejected. It claims that votes were cast on behalf of dead people, that election observers weren’t allowed to witness “key points” of processing and that people on American Indian territories were illegally given incentives to vote. In a separate court filing this week, a voting watchdog group led by a conservative former state lawmaker wants a judge to block statewide certification of the election.
What happened: There have been no rulings in either case.

Pennysylvania:

The case: A Trump campaign case aims to stop the state from certifying the election, alleging Philadelphia and six counties wrongly allowed voters to correct problems with mail-in ballots that were otherwise going to be disqualified for a technicality, like lacking a secrecy envelope or a signature. The total number of affected ballots was not expected to come anywhere close to Biden’s margin of more than 80,000 votes.
What happened: Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, signed onto the case this week after others abruptly withdrew, and the former New York City mayor argued in court on Tuesday for the first time since the 1990s. Giuliani made wild, unsupported allegations of a nationwide conspiracy by Democrats to steal the election. The judge did not immediately issue a ruling and canceled a hearing that was set for Thursday but set out a schedule for both sides to make new filings this week.

Wisconsin:

The case: Trump’s campaign on Wednesday filed for a recount in the counties that cover Milwaukee and Madison, both Democratic strongholds. It alleged — again without evidence — that absentee ballots were illegally altered or issued and that government officials violated state law.
What happened: Biden leads Trump by 20,000 votes statewide. The recount requested by Trump will begin Friday and has to be complete by 1 December, the deadline for the vote to be certified at the state level. State and local elections officials reiterated that there was no evidence to back up the claims Trump was making.

    Reality.

1,869 deaths in a day, heading into Thanksgiving. And the president, without a peep of complaint from his party, has gone AWOL, abandoning his responsibility to protect the country & leaving those in his charge to fend for themselves. What would happen to any military commander?

    Bites.

“Our daily update is published. States reported 1.5M tests, 164k cases, and 1,869 deaths. A record 79k people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in the US. Today’s death count is the highest since May 7.”

there is literally no Buy In-none.

    1. Cian

In 2019 there were a total of 2,839,205 deaths in the US which averages 7,777 per day.
1,869 deaths with Covid is a whopping 24% of the expected daily deaths.

making it number 3 in the charts, are you hoping its number one for Christmas?
        Heart disease: 655,381
        Cancer: 599,274
        Accidents (unintentional injuries): 167,127
        Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 159,486
        Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 147,810

may not make it by holidays but ….strong chance number 2 in your charts of the dead !
“According to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation’s latest model, by March 1, the U.S. may see nearly 439,000 total deaths from COVID-19. But Mokdad and his colleagues have calculated two alternative scenarios, depending on the path the country takes. If governmental mandates to limit the spread are eased, the model predicts more deaths: perhaps 587,000 by March 1.”

        Trump 73,616,203 (47.2%)
Biden’s popular vote lead is up to 5.9 million (3.8%)

the country has changed the channel,he’s a parody of the the mad king in isolation, alone, friendless, ranting, flaing at windmills alone and very soon powerless.

some horrific information coming out,its out control in many states.

“As more than 90,000 of the nation’s long-term care residents have died in a pandemic that has pushed staffs to the limit, advocates for the elderly say a tandem wave of death separate from the virus has quietly claimed tens of thousands more, often because overburdened workers haven’t been able to give them the care they need.

Nursing home watchdogs are being flooded with reports of residents kept in soiled diapers so long their skin peeled off, left with bedsores that cut to the bone, and allowed to wither away in starvation or thirst.”

Cain-im lost yes they the numbers, your conflating annual and daily deaths, lots dead bodies correct.

        1. Cian

655,381 deaths to heart disease is 1,796 per day (average)

1,869 deaths with Covid in a single day make it #1.

        1. ReproBertie

As I said, none of those things happened.

Rather than clinging to baseless conspiracy theories, try accepting that more people voted for Biden than Trump. You may not like it but that’s the reality.

        2. ian-oh

          @Dr Busted;

Just because you can have rallies with 10s of 1000’s of attendees, some of whom might have attended previous one, some of whom we know were paid attendees (‘crisis actors’ is the term I believe?) and a portion of whom were Trump campaign staffers, that does not mean much in relation to transferring those crowds to state wide and nation wide voting numbers.

Trump did what, 40, 50 rallies last year? If the average size was 15,000 that’s up to 750,000 people who were willing to show up. Of them, being kind, perhaps 80% were hard core supporters not on staff and not being paid to attend, that drops s to 600,000. That’s less than 1% of the vote that either Trump or Biden got.

So what exactly does having rallies prove?

      1. ReproBertie

Yeah, that didn’t happen either. All these allegations have been investigated and rejected.

        He lost, get over it.

        1. Junkface

Well, I have read so many different articles on it, but in the last year I have read more from journalists and reporters who insist that it was overblown and not enough hard evidence was ever there to prosecute fully. So I have changed my mind on it somewhat, compared to 2 years ago. I mean, they have some evidence, people connected to Trump were arrested for lying about their connections or actions.
Russia did hack the DNC, I think some people were compromised, but it never lived up to the hype from the biggest TV news channels in the USA. So yes, not conclusive evidence and looking back, quite a lot of hysteria from retired CIA types.

        2. Nigel

It’s a weird equivalence, though, since Russiagate – whatever was really at the core of Russiagate – was part of the same thing. The same group of people trying to seize and maintain power, quite openly, protected by laws but not constrained by them – or not believing themselves to be. Losing all but one of their court cases because of lack of evidence doesn’t make them doubt the veracity of their claims, they are explicitly trying to drive the decision to a stacked court to overturn a democratic election. So people aren’t ‘complaining when it’s their side’ or whatever specious argument this is supposed to lead to. They are complaining about the same group of people up to the same sort of openly corrupt and authoritarian and anti-democratic behaviour.

      2. milk teeth

Haha pot kettle re critical thinking. “Oh its OK, Grampa Don said it was rigged so it must be. Countless other people including Republicans that were in the rooms where they were counted said it wasn’t but DON SAID IT WAS SO IT WAS!!!!! DOWN WITH THE MSM. I HAZ CRITICAL THINKNIG SKILLS!”

  2. ACI Question

Another day closer to watching covid-riddled secret service agents tossing one-term president Donal Trump head first through a window in the Oval Office live on TV.

  3. Rosette of Sirius

    Gag of the day

Why won’t Trump be in the White House after inauguration?

    Cos it’s For-Biden….

      1. ian-oh

        Bored now with all this.

When is Biden going to start doing something I can get enraged about?

I bet he will be soooo boring and competent, which might be ‘good’ for his country but what about the ratings, eh? What about the drama? What about the meme-able moments? Wither the Tik Tok generation now?

        B O R I N G.

I want flair, controversy and possibly a side arc involving illicit affairs and substance abuse FFS not this dry, drab ‘politics’ we are getting.

    1. Rosette of Sirius

Well the rather prescient Mr Staebler was really rather correct in a number of things – most salient being that millions of people around the world would know their names and for the infamy they have surrounded themselves in. White votes good, Black votes baaaad.

  4. milk teeth

I tried to watch that video but the fake typing sound got to me.

So the Democrats are clever enough to rig the presidential ballot but not clever enough to rig the down ballot elections? Also why, if the presidential ballot was rigged, aren’t Trump supporters worried about those down ballot votes? Is it because Republicans did well there?

These conspiracy theories are so easy to blow open. It’s ridiculous.

  5. Rosette of Sirius

One interesting observation from this thread was that it was ‘originally’ posted by Nick Kelly. I’ve not seen Nick post this sort of conspiracy stuff before and I meant to say something at the time but was busy.

I see now it’s reverted to a Bodger posting.

    A coincidence?!

    1. Nigel

MOOB. So, still no actual evidence just an opinion, the biggest voter fraud in history, and not an iota of evidence, now THAT’S a physical impossibility.

      1. SOQ

It is not just an opinion- it is a sworn affidavit from someone putting their professional reputation on the line.

As I keep saying- time will tell- we will have some clarity by next week.

Anyone who thinks there is not vulnerabilities in that system- like many other systems- is being very naive.

Oh- and you have heard of circumstantial evidence yeah?

        1. Nigel

They were so concerned about vulnerabilities they blocked three Democratic bills to tighten security and increase transparency. Sitting on these concerns until AFTER the election then raising them now to overturn results they don’t like is pure bad faith and not likely to stand up as an actual argument in court absent actual evidence.

There’s nothing to be lost by putting your professional reputation (assuming you have one) on the line on behalf of Trump and Republicans – all sorts of right-wing punditry awaits when/if the crooked courts and MSM ignore or take apart your arguments, so long as you keep your sworn testimony to your opinion, you’re not risking perjury.

          Circumstantial evidence? What about it?

      1. Rosette of Sirius

And this is where the razing to the ground that I keep mentioning begins. because if this is the way it goes, it’ll happen….

  6. DOC

Trump will have one more Christmas in the White House
And then just before January 20 the Secret Service will barge in and forcibly kick him out
I hope someone records it for Entertainment value
