New TG4 weather men Darren Ó Dubhgain (right) and Donncha Ó Murchú
Ooer.
I feel a warm front.
This afternoon.
Two new presenters have joined TG4’s weather and continuity team creating an even more diverse panel. They are, Darren Ó Dubhgain from Donegal and Dubliner Donncha Ó Murchú. Aimsir TG4 provides the Irish weather service through Irish. Three linear bulletins are broadcast each day and there are more on the station’s website TG4.ie/aimsir as well as its own social media on Twitter @AimsirTG4.

Ana-ridey ar fad.
LOL –
Yeh appointing two white Irish blokes really screams diversity.
Well done TG4 on that bold statement
I think the fact that they are blokes, and one has a Dublin accent is the diversity piece.
LOL
Maybe they were hired for their experience, knowledge and personality, not their sex or skin colour? Identity politics are not just idiotic, they are backwards for humanity.
Again, Ireland has approx 93% white people. Your logic is wrong.
I believe that TG4 and RnaG are some of the better media outlets in Ireland, in terms of gender equality, and has been for a good number of years.
Of course, I could be wrong and am open to correction
Also, we have had many women presenting the weather forecast over the last 20 or 30 years. Maybe more than the men? Shopping for humans based on their gender, skin colour, or identity instead of their merits for the job is what happens under apartheid, its part of what destroyed the Lebanese economy. Many countries in Africa and the Middle East are trying to rid themselves of this disease of the mind, and the woke are sleep walking into it. Identity politics eventually become full on racism and segregation.
Why are there so many white women on Irish TV? Why are trans women not there instead? You bigots!!
TG4 is really diverse in the way it shows foreign language films, with English subtitles. It has shown some gas foreign travel docs hosted by Hector agus a cairde.
Oh shur’up
These are the successful applicants for the vacancies
And good luck to them
If there was more focus on the best for job
We’d have no quota coat-tailing jackpot winners
And no need for affirmative action practices
That’s how you promise Equality
And embed Equality into every workplace
Insist on independent Candidates
You can avoid any Conflict of Interest by inserting ‘connected parties not eligible to apply’
into the essential candidate requirements
And Pick the best candidate(s)
did they change their pants between pics?
They seem to have bespoke tailors, but they are not wearing all-weather gear. Have they postman’s cloaks at home?
Why are they dressed like it’s their first communion?
With the original jackets judging by the size of them.
No way could they deliver the weather in those, far too restrictive around the arms and shoulders.
Darren O Duggan is the right one in the dark blazer, not the left.
Go raibh mil a mhaith agat, Mr T.
Even the pair of them aren’t a match for Jean Byrne.
Imagine being that desperate that you’d go with one of those lads..
Ouch. That’s not very nice.
It’s not.. but true..
It’s raining men in Belgium too. https://mobile.twitter.com/gavreilly/status/1333779184032903168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1333779184032903168%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=
Nothing to do with weather forecasts, but I scrolled down and spotted this bilingual pun:-
Really struggling with the fact there’s no tattoo shops in Ireland called “Conas atattoo”
If any one of you here were parents, siblings or partners of these lovely lads, would ye feel comfortable about the comments above?
Nice to see TG4 introduce young talent. Anyone wanting to brush up their native language, or support it at least, should tune in and see an spéir gorm.
