    …wasn’t the holy hour abolished in 1988…more likely snapped before opening time (on account of the guy was walking east, the length and angle of his shadow…also, going by the state of the window boxes it was probably mid-july)

      Don’t think the Holy hour was got rid of til the mid to late 90s. I still remember getting turfed out on a Sunday afternoon around 97

          Well deduced!
          Some dubs may not know that the Holy Hour was exclusively a city requirement…possibly in Cork as well.

          I assumed the Holy Hour was union-driven, while the two-hour closing on Sundays, ( which was country-wide) had religious undertones?
