This afternoon.

Leinster House, Dublin 2.

A danse macabre from ballerina Niamh O;Flannagain as she joined a silent, Covid-friendly protest on behalf of dance school owners, drama and stage school owners, dance teachers, professional dancers and others who are calling on the government to reopen their sector.

      lots of very sore toes,
ever seen those pics of ballerina’s feet,
such a contrast to the rest and really illustrate the work behind that strength and beauty

My lady did it for years and honestly, it looks like she has sixteen ankles on each foot now. When she talks about dancing on broken bones, it makes me shudder.

I ran a marathon once with a sore leg, turned out it was a hairline fractured tibia…oops,
I have nothing but respect for the work and pain behind this grace

She considered it par for the course, blood, pain, crunchy bones. And yes, she does have great posture. Also, sixteen ankles per foot, so yeah.

The protest worked! The Arts Council will be governed under sports rules which means dance and drama classes can go ahead. A huge relief to school owners and their students.
